No new leads, search for missing influencer in Sungai Tui called off

Motoring influencer Tengku Nizaruddin Tengku Zainudin, 38, better known as Ija Nizaruddin, was reported missing after the Perodua Axia he was driving was found submerged in the river this evening, with no trace of him inside.
MUAR - The search and rescue (SAR) operation for motoring influencer Tengku Nizaruddin Tengku Zainudin, who was reported missing on Monday after the vehicle he was driving plunged into Sungai Tui, Lenga, here, was called off today after rescuers failed to find any new leads.
Muar district police chief ACP Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz said the Incident Command Post (PKTK) at the scene had also been closed as the search for the 38-year-old victim entered its fourth day.
He said the operation, launched after a partially submerged car was found in the river located in an oil palm plantation, involved 77 personnel from various agencies.
"The search was carried out using land, water, and air methods covering a radius of several kilometres from the scene by the Muar district police headquarters (IPD), the Marine Police Force, the K9 Unit, and the General Operations Force (PGA) personnel.
"Also involved were the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), its water rescue team (PPDA) and Drone Unit,' he said in a statement today.
According to Raiz Mukhliz, the PKTK was closed and the SAR operation called off following a decision to expand the search to other areas after a thorough search of the incident site had been completed.
He said the move would also allow for better coordination among the agencies involved should other factors contributing to the victim's disappearance come to light.
However, Raiz Mukhliz said search efforts would still be carried out periodically by personnel from the Lenga police station with assistance from Muar IPD.
Earlier, the media reported that the victim, a businessman and owner of a vehicle accessories shop, went missing after the Perodua Axia he was driving plunged into the river. - BERNAMA

Man arrested after driving against traffic in Kluang
KLUANG: A 51-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly driving against traffic and nearly colliding with an oncoming vehicle in Kluang. Police acted after a 24-second video of the incident went viral on social media. Policeman to be charged for allegedly causing teen's death in Kedah crash
YAN: A policeman will be charged tomorrow with allegedly causing the death of a teenager in a road crash. Yan district police chief Superintendent Mohd Hamizi Abdullah told NST that the policeman would be charged at the Gurun Magistrate's Court under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by dangerous driving. Yesterday, Kedah police chief Commissioner Adzli Abu Shah said the policeman had been detained, questioned, and fully cooperated with the investigation. He said the case was being handled with the utmost seriousness and transparency. The victim, 16-year-old Muhammad Nur Iman Danial Mohd Roshidi, died at the intensive care unit of Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital last Thursday. The teenager's parents said they are leaving it to the police to investigate the incident and hope it will be conducted with integrity.

Policeman in crash that killed teen detained, cooperated fully
ALOR STAR: The policeman involved in the road crash that claimed the life of a teenager in Guar Chempedak has been detained and questioned. Kedah police chief Commissioner Adzli Abu Shah said the policeman had fully cooperated with the investigation. He said the policeman had lodged a report immediately after the incident and has since been released on police bail after testing negative for drugs. "He reported the crash and fully submitted to the investigation process. Urine tests came back negative, and he has no prior disciplinary or integrity-related offences on record," Adzli told the New Straits Times. He stressed that the incident is being treated with the utmost seriousness and transparency. "If there had been any element of criminal intent or evidence that the policeman was under the influence, we would not have hesitated to take immediate and more serious action," he said. Adzli said the case, which was initially investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving, has now been reclassified under Section 41(1) of the same act for causing death by dangerous driving following the victim's passing. "There is no question of preferential treatment or cover-up. The same legal processes apply to all, regardless of whether the suspect is a civilian or a policeman," he said. He added that the decision to suspend the policeman will be evaluated based on the progress of the investigation. "We are deeply saddened by the tragedy. A full and uncompromised investigation is ongoing, including an internal probe by the Integrity and Standards Compliance Department," he said.
