Report Thauvin close to 6m transfer for RC Lens from Udinese
According to Footmercato, Udinese are in advanced negotiations to sell Florian Thauvin to RC Lens for €6m, with the player already agreeing personal terms. The 32-year-old only recently signed a new contract with the Friulani that runs to June 2026, putting pen to paper in late June 2025, just days before the previous deal was due to expire. Nonetheless, his future at the Bluenergy Stadium is far from secure, with reports in France that he has given the all-clear to join RC Lens. The Frenchman has had an odd career path, playing for Bastia, Lille, Olympique Marseille, Newcastle United and Mexican club Tigres. He made a surprise return to Europe for Udinese as a free agent in January 2023 and made a strong impression, scoring 15 goals and providing 10 assists in 73 competitive games. Last season was particularly prolific, finding the net eight times with three assists in 25 Serie A appearances. It would be a blow for Udinese, who already sold striker Lorenzo Lucca to Napoli.

Bernardeschi avoids serious injury, still out for 3 weeks
Bologna will be without new signing Federico Bernardeschi for at least three weeks after a knee injury, but fears of ligament damage were fortunately unfounded. The former Toronto FC wide forward made the move to the Stadio Dall'Ara as a free agent this summer and was hoping to reboot his career after his time in Major League Soccer. There was an immediate setback, as after converting a penalty in the friendly match against Vis Pesaro, he limped off with a knee injury. Bernardeschi knee injury not too serious Federico Bernardeschi playing for Bologna ( Reports immediately suggested they feared it could be serious with ligament damage and possibly the requirement for surgery. However, today it was confirmed Bernardeschi had only suffered a sprain to the right knee. It still means he will be out of action for circa three weeks, but he can at least hope to be back in action for the Serie A season opener against Roma. A more likely scenario is to get him ready for the Week 2 fixture against Como.

Here are three observations from the ninth day of Jets training camp Aaron Glenn shows the passion On the positive side of the ledger from head coach Aaron Glenn, he really showed how much he cares about the Jets once again. Glenn got emotional discussing fans viewing practice as he said it was the "first time it really hit him." Sloppy, sloppy During Saturday's practice there was a bit of a scrimmage that went down. It did not go well. Per reports, there were 12 penalties called during the workout and that is very bad. Glenn has previously said he wants referees at practice to help fix the issue with flags, but improvement is still needed. Glenn was vocal about the problem after practice. Isaiah Davis makes waves On a plus side, running back Isaiah Davis took advantage of Braelon Allen missing practice due to injury. ESPN was among those that praised Davis' efforts working with the first-team offense, both in the rushing and passing game.
