
Sarnia man arrested for causing a disturbance

A man has been arrested after creating a public disturbance in Sarnia, according to police.
Officers received reports of a man walking into traffic in the area of Christina Street and Wellington Street, and threatening bystanders around 6:15 p.m. Saturday.
Officers found the suspect in front of city hall and attempted to speak with him. According to police, the man began yelling at the officers to ensure they were, 'aware of his personal beliefs regarding their job performance, legal knowledge, and arrest authorities.'
Police say the incident was disruptive to anyone within earshot, including a nearby patio.
The man allegedly raised his fists toward police and threatened violence. Officers used a Taser against the man and brought him in to custody.
The 54 year old was charged with mischief, causing a disturbance, and breach of probation.

'The dam was shut down and Lanark OPP conducted a search of the area using a civilian boat as well as an OPP Marine Unit boat,' the OPP said on X. 'Some of the individual's belongings were recovered.' Police said the search resumed Sunday morning with the assistance of an OPP drone. 'Unfortunately, the investigation has now turned to recovery,' police said, adding the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit will assist with the investigation.

12-year-old boy in hospital after being bitten by coyote in Nobleton
A 12-year-old boy is in hospital after being bitten by a coyote in Nobleton on Sunday afternoon. York Regional Police said they received a call for an animal complaint in the area of Highway 27 and King Road at 12:14 p.m. The boy was taken to the hospital with minor leg injuries, police said. The Toronto Wildlife and Vaughan Animal Services have been notified. Police said there have been reports of coyote sightings in the area and are urging the public to exercise caution.

The accused is also scheduled to appear in traffic court at a later date. 'Slow down (and) drive safe,' said OPP Const. Kyler Brouwer said in a social media post detailing the incident.
