
12-year-old boy in hospital after being bitten by coyote in Nobleton
A 12-year-old boy is in hospital after being bitten by a coyote in Nobleton on Sunday afternoon.
York Regional Police said they received a call for an animal complaint in the area of Highway 27 and King Road at 12:14 p.m.
The boy was taken to the hospital with minor leg injuries, police said.
The Toronto Wildlife and Vaughan Animal Services have been notified. Police said there have been reports of coyote sightings in the area and are urging the public to exercise caution.

Boy, 11, dead after ATV rollover in Marcel Colomb First Nation
An 11-year-old boy died after an ATV rolled over in northwestern Manitoba early Thursday, police say. RCMP received a report of an off-road vehicle that rolled over on Main Road in Marcel Colomb First Nation, about five kilometres from Highway 391, shortly after 3 a.m. Thursday, a news release said Monday. Investigators believe a 13-year-old was driving an ATV with an 11-year-old passenger on Main Road when he lost control of the vehicle and it rolled over, police said. The 11-year-old was pronounced dead at the site of the crash. The 13-year-old was taken to hospital with minor injuries. The two were not wearing helmets at the time of the crash, and speed's believed to have been a factor.

Several trains cancelled after one hits person west of Guelph Central GO station
GO Transit is reporting a person has been struck by a train west of Guelph Central GO station. Metrolinx said the train had left the Kitchener GO station at 7:09 a.m. ET. It was scheduled to arrive at Union Station at 8:47 a.m. "The area is in the hands of emergency personnel," said a statement from Metrolinx. Trains cannot move through the area until the investigation is complete. A number of scheduled departures have been cancelled, including: Union Station 09:34 departure to Kitchener GO, 11:25 arrival. The train will end at Georgetown GO and will not stop at Etobicoke North GO in suburban Toronto. Kitchener GO 11:49 departure to Union Station, 13:35 arrival. The train will begin at Georgetown GO. Earlier, Kitchener GO train routes were cancelled, and passengers and shuttle bus service was organized at a number of locations.

Driver speeds away after hitting pedestrian in Owen Sound
A pedestrian was hit by a car near the intersection of 1st Avenue West and 11th Street West in Owen Sound on Sunday shortly after 11 p.m. Grey County paramedics rushed the victim to Brightshores Health System, and shortly after they were airlifted to Victoria Hospital in London. The pedestrian remains in hospital with serious injuries and is listed in stable condition. Just after 11:30 p.m., police located the 41-year-old Owen Sound driver of the vehicle. He was charged with: Dangerous operation causing bodily harm. Failing to stop at accident resulting in bodily harm. Failure or refusal to comply with demand – bodily harm. Drive a motor vehicle – no licence. The investigation remains ongoing.
