Four Indian Bars Named On Extended List Of Asia's 50 Best Bars For 2025
Last year, too, the extended list featured four Indian bars: The Bombay Canteen in Mumbai, followed by Lair, Sidecar, and Home in New Delhi. Only one Indian bar made it to the top 50 - ZLB23 at The Leela Palace Bengaluru was thus named the best bar in India for 2024. Click here to read more.
These rankings are compiled on the basis of votes of the Asia's 50 Best Bars Academy, which comprises more than 300 industry experts, including bartenders, bar proprietors, drinks journalists and other connoisseurs. 2025's extended list features bars spread across 23 different destinations in Asia. It is topped by Obsidian Bar in Shenzhen, Pine & Co in Seoul and Side Door in Singapore. Take a look at the full list below:

1 Bengali film must in all state cinemas between 3pm & 9pm
Kolkata: All theatres in Bengal, single-screen or multiplex, will have to screen at least one Bengali film during the 3 pm to 9 pm prime time throughout the year, the state govt has said in a notification. Till now, 12 pm to 9 pm was considered prime time and so Bengali movies were slotted at 12 pm. Now, we have changed the prime-time slot from 3 pm to 9 pm," minister Aroop Biswas said on Wednesday. He explained that instead of the earlier requirement of screening 120 Bengali films a year, each screen will now screen at least one Bengali movie daily. Information and culture minister Indranil Sen called it a "historic day not only for cinema but for the revival of Bengali asmita and culture". Film industry seniors said the landmark decision will expand the market for Bengali cinema and encourage new producers to invest in Bengali content. It will also be a litmus test for Bengali films and determine if they can attract viewers when given favourable showtimes. "This is a much-needed decision for our industry. This initiative will allow the audience to decide when it is most convenient for them to watch a Bengali film," said actor Prosenjit Chatterjee. Actor-politician Dev said the notification was a "significant win for the Bengali film industry". He said when he met CM Mamata Banerjee in Ghatal recently, he had informed her that his 10-year-old film 'Dhumketu' was not getting shows. "Not only does the state govt organise the Kolkata International Film Festival it also supports Bengali cinema and provides us with a level playing field to showcase and prove the merit of our films. Multiplex audiences have for long complained about the absence of Bengali films in popular late afternoon and evening slots while directors have expressed frustration that despite positive reviews their films are often removed from prime slots after only three days. If independent films are given fair slots, without monopolisation by any production house, it will encourage more producers to invest in Bengali cinema," said actor Rituparna Sengupta. Bengali filmmakers have repeatedly complained that Bollywood, Hollywood, and major South-Indian productions manage to secure favourable screening slots and accused distributors of coercing exhibitors to allocate all shows during a film's release week to their major productions, threatening to withhold year-round content otherwise. "The notification erases any scope for ambiguity and streamlines the way forward for all of us. It is a rule of the land and we will follow it," said distributor Pritam Jalan, whose company has been distributing major Hindi releases in Bengal for the past seven decades. Distributor and exhibitor Satadeep Saha said, "It is good experiment for Bengali cinema. We have been told the situation will be reviewed after four months."

War 2, one of the year's most anticipated Bollywood releases, is all set to storm theatres on August 14. Starring Hrithik Roshan , Jr NTR , and Kiara Advani in lead roles, the high-octane action-thriller promises a gripping blend of espionage, power-packed stunts, and edge-of-the-seat drama. The film, directed by Ayan Mukerji, has been making headlines since its announcement. Ahead of its release, the makers hosted a star-studded special screening attended by Bollywood's biggest names. Hrithik Roshan arrived hand-in-hand with girlfriend Saba Azad , both making a stylish entry. Kunal Kapoor also accompanied the couple in their car. Power couple Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor also graced the event, arriving in their luxurious car. War franchise star Tiger Shroff attended to show support for his co-star Hrithik, while Anil Kapoor opted for a cool, casual look. Scenes trimmed before release According to Bollywood Hungama, War 2 went through several edits before hitting the big screen. Yash Raj Films removed 28 scenes, trimming 6 minutes and 25 seconds from the runtime. While most deletions were just a few seconds long, a chase sequence was cut by 16 seconds, and an action scene shortened by 24 seconds. The most significant cut was a 1 minute 19 second dialogue between the protagonists. Hrithik calls Rajinikanth his 'first teacher' ahead of 'War 2' vs 'Coolie' clash The CBFC also requested changes, muting 'inappropriate references' in six places and toning down one conversation. A two-second obscene gesture was also removed. War 2 continues the clash between Indian spies Major Kabir Dhaliwal (Hrithik Roshan) and Vikram (Jr NTR), with Kiara Advani playing a crucial role. The final runtime stands at 2 hours, 53 minutes, and 24 seconds.
