HONG KONG SAR - Media OutReach Newswire - 30 May 2025 - DFI Retail Group Holdings Limited ('DFI' or the 'Group') today announces the sale of 315,309,310 common shares in Robinsons Retail Holdings, Inc. ('RRHI'), representing approximately 22.2% of RRHI's outstanding shares. DFI first became a significant minority shareholder in RRHI in 2018 through the share-for-share swap transaction involving Rustan Supercenters, Inc.

Scott Price, Group Chief Executive of DFI Retail Group, said, "We would like to sincerely thank the Robinsons Retail team for their hard work, partnership, and commitment over the years. Our collaboration has been instrumental in growing our presence in the Philippines, and we look forward to continuing this strong relationship as we each focus on our strategic priorities."

We will evaluate the deployment of divestment proceeds to ensure alignment with our capital allocation strategy and long-term growth ambitions."
The transaction was executed via a special block sale on the Philippine Stock Exchange, with pricing agreed upon based on prevailing market conditions and strategic considerations.

Explained: Why BTS' label Hybe's chairman is facing life imprisonment over fraud allegations

BTS fans around the world are eagerly waiting for the K-pop band's reunion after the remaining members are released from military duty in June. However, Bang Si-hyuk, the man who formed BTS, is currently under investigation after being accused of fraudulent and unfair trading practices. According to Korean media outlets, Bang Si-hyuk, 52, is being investigated by the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) for allegedly misleading investors and bagging about 400 billion won ($289 million) during the company's initial public offering (IPO) process. Did Bang Si-hyuk deceive investors? Sources say the FSS has evidence suggesting Bang may have engaged in deceptive practices involving private equity firms. Back in 2019, when Hybe was still known as BigHit Entertainment, existing shareholders were told there was had no immediate plans to go public, persuading some investors to sell their stakes to a private equity fund allegedly set up by an associate. However, the company simultaneously began the process to go public after Bang allegedly signed a private shareholders' agreement with local PEFs to share profits from a future listing, a deal that was not disclosed at the time. While investors suffered heavy losses from the post-IPO sell-off, the private equity fund reaped a large profit after the company went public. The alleged gains from the scheme are estimated at around 400 billion won ($290 million). The BigHit IPO filed in October 2020 increased Bang's net worth to $2.8 billion, reportedly making him the only billionaire in South Korea's entertainment industry and the sixth-richest person in the country. Could it lead to life imprisonment? The FSS is investigating Bang's transactions with the PEFs and plans to refer the case to prosecutors for potential criminal prosecution, according to KED Global. HYBE's alleged secret profit-sharing agreement between Bang and the PEFs could constitute a violation of disclosure rules under the Capital Markets Act. If found guilty, Bang could face a prison sentence of five years or more, or a life sentence, if the profit exceeds 5 billion won. Meanwhile, BTS ARMY around the world are eagerly waiting for the seven band members to reunite. While j-hope and Jin have already completed their mandatory military service, Jungkook, Jumin, V, RM and Suga are set to be released from their duties in June.

Hong Kong-headquartered International Mediation Body Established

HONG KONG SAR - Media OutReach Newswire - 31 May 2025 - International mediation marked a significant milestone yesterday (May 30) with the establishment of the International Organization for Mediation (IOMed). The IOMed, with its headquarters in Hong Kong, is the world's first inter-governmental international legal organisation devoted to the use of mediation in resolving international disputes. More than 80 countries and about 20 international organisations, including the United Nations, sent senior representatives to Hong Kong to witness the Signing Ceremony of the Convention on the Establishment of the International Organization for Mediation. Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, Wang Yi, attended the Signing Ceremony and was the first to sign the Convention on behalf of China. Altogether, 33 countries signed the Convention on-site, making them the founding members of the IOMed. Addressing the ceremony, Mr Wang said that as an innovative step in international rule of law, the IOMed has great significance in the history of international relations. The IOMed will be headquartered in Hong Kong, whose handover is itself a success story of peaceful settlement of international disputes. He added that the success of the "one country, two systems" principle has created brighter prospects for prosperity and stability in Hong Kong. Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), John Lee, thanked the Central Government for its staunch support of Hong Kong, and the international community for placing their trust and confidence in the city. "The IOMed will provide a pathway for countries – regardless of culture, language and legal system – to resolve international disputes based on mutual respect and understanding," Mr Lee said. "This is increasingly important amid mounting geopolitical tensions." Mr Lee underscored that the IOMed reflected a shared confidence in mediation as a peaceful means to maintain international peace and security, as stipulated in the Charter of the United Nations. The Chief Executive also set out Hong Kong's advantages as an effective "super connector" and "super value-adder" and said the city would actively promote the IOMed's valuable work in settling international disputes through mediation. "Despite geopolitical turbulence, Hong Kong builds bridges, not walls," Mr Lee said. "Under our unique "one country, two systems" principle, Hong Kong is the only world city that enjoys both the China advantage and the global advantage. "We are the only common law jurisdiction in China, and the only jurisdiction in the world with a bilingual common law system in both Chinese and English. We have a long tradition of the rule of law, and our courts exercise their judicial power independently." With a robust, efficient and well-respected legal system as well as world-class legal and dispute resolution services professionals, Hong Kong is also the most preferred seat for arbitration in the Asia-Pacific region. The IOMed headquarters will be located at the site of the former Wan Chai Police Station, once renovation of the Grade 2 historic building is completed. "I'm happy to say that it could open its doors as early as the end of this year," said Mr Lee. "We look forward not only to welcoming its new occupants, but also to supporting them in building new bridges for a more connected, peaceful and prosperous future through mediation." In the afternoon, the Global Forum on International Mediation discussed topics such as mediation of disputes among countries and mediation of international investment and commercial disputes and the contributions that the IOMed can make. ACME Cleantech orders solar trackers for Duqm green ammonia project

India-headquartered ACME Cleantech Solutions has signed a contract with China's Arctech for 175 MWp (Megawatt peak) of solar trackers for the solar component of its 300 MTPD (Metric Tonnes Per Day) Green Ammonia Project in Duqm, Oman. The trackers will be delivered in phases starting from July 2025, Arctech said in a press statement, adding that it will deploy its 1P single axis solar tracking system Skyline II, engineered for harsh environments, for the project. According to the statement, the green ammonia project is located near the southeastern coast of Oman, characterised by coastal desert conditions including sandy soils, high wind speeds (up to 55 m/s), C5-level corrosion exposure, extreme temperatures and high levels of solar radiation, with an annual average of around 5,764 KWh/m2. The area's high solar insolation has made it a prime location for utility-scale solar projects. In June 2023, ACME announced that it secured a 40 billion Indian rupees loan from REC, one of the India's largest green infrastructure financial institutions, for its green hydrogen and green ammonia project in Oman. The company had said in a press statement that the first phase of the facility is expected to produce 100,000 tonnes of green ammonia annually and will be expanded to 1.2 million tonnes per annum with about 3.5 gigawatts (GW) of electrolyser capacity, which will be powered by 5.5 GWp solar PV plant.
