Lori Vallow Daybell is convicted in her second murder conspiracy case in Arizona
PHOENIX — A jury in Phoenix has convicted Lori Vallow Daybell of conspiring to kill her niece's ex-husband in 2019, marking her second murder conspiracy conviction in Arizona in less than two months.
Daybell was convicted Thursday on a charge of conspiring to murder Brandon Boudreaux, who was once married to Daybell's niece, outside his home in the Phoenix suburb of Gilbert.
An Arizona jury convicted Daybell in late April of conspiring with her brother, Alex Cox, to kill her estranged husband, Charles Vallow, in 2019 at her home in Chandler, another Phoenix suburb.
The mother with doomsday religious beliefs has already been sentenced in Idaho to life in prison for killing her two youngest children and engaging in a plot to kill a romantic rival.
She is scheduled to be sentenced in both Arizona cases on July 25. Each conviction carries a life sentence.
Boudreaux said his ex-wife, Melani Pawlowski, aspired to be like her aunt Lori and that the two began attending religious meetings together in 2018, and soon Pawlowski was arguing that they should stockpile food for the end of the world.
In October 2019, someone in a Jeep outside Boudreaux's home fired a rifle shot at him, missing him but shattering a window on his car.
Boudreaux recognized the Jeep as the vehicle that Vallow's daughter, Tylee Ryan, regularly drove before her death.

Parents are charged after their son, 7, is struck dead in a car accident
The grieving parents of a 7-year-old child who died hours after being hit by a car were charged with involuntary manslaughter after allowing him and his brother, 10, to walk home unaccompanied by an adult from a nearby grocery store. Jessica Ivey and Samuele Jenkins were charged two days after their son Legend died from injuries caused by being struck by a Jeep on May 27 in Gastonia, a rural town in North Carolina. The 76-year-old driver will not face any charges. The Food Lion store is two blocks away from their home. The parents said the children were with their mother when they asked to meet their father at the store, and she allowed them to leave, according to the Gaston Gazette. The brothers had to cross the busy, four-lane road, but attempted to go between crosswalks. Witnesses told WSOC-TV Gastonia that Legend stepped into traffic as his older brother attempted to hold him back. Jenkins said he was on the phone with his elder son when the younger child was hit. 'I heard my oldest son yell, 'Legend, no!' so I hung up and ran. I just ran to find them,' he told the local television station. Two days later, Gastonia police arrested the parents, who are being held on $1.5 million bond. 'In such cases, adults must be held accountable for their responsibilities to ensure a safe environment for their children,' police said in a statement. Gastonia police declined to comment to NBC News, but said in a statement that 'there is no evidence of speeding or wrongdoing on the part of the driver, therefore no charges have been filed. The driver continues to be cooperative and the incident remains under active investigation by the Gastonia Police Department's Traffic Division.' The parents' public defenders did not respond to a request for comment on Wednesday. Ivey, the mother, said before her arrest to WSOC that it was the first time she let the children walk alone. 'It was just devastating, I'm still in shock, I'm in shock,' she said. 'It's hard, I haven't stopped crying; my husband hasn't stopped crying. Honestly, I want justice for my baby.' Summer Williams was in her car and witnessed the event. She told WSOC that Legend, apparently unaware of oncoming traffic, jumped into the street to the surprise of his brother, who tried to stop him. Williams said she comforted the child until paramedics arrived. 'Even at night, I still see his face,' she said. 'Just letting him know that somebody was there and he wasn't alone. 'Stay with us, sweetheart. You're going to be all right. Stay with us,'' Williams said she told the child.

Attempted murder probe after man deliberately hit by car in Scots street
A 28-year-old man has suffered serious injuries after a car deliberately hit him in an attempted murder. A man has suffered serious injuries after being deliberately hit by a car in an attempted murder in Dumfries. At around 11.20pm on Saturday, May 17, emergency crews raced to Criffel Road, near to Lincluden Road, after receiving a report of a car having deliberately crashed into a man. Upon attending, a 28-year-old man was rushed to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment to serious injuries. The car and its occupants had left the scene, heading towards College Road and onto Newbridge Drive. Officers have established that, through ongoing enquiries, a silver-coloured, five-door VW Golf with tinted rear windows was in the area at the time. Detective Inspector Scott Wilson said: 'Extensive enquiries are ongoing and we have been gathering CCTV footage from the surrounding area, which is being reviewed. "Officers have also been carrying out door to door enquiries in the local area and will continue to do so. "But I would also be very keen to speak anyone who was in the area at the time or has seen the car since then and may be able to assist our investigation. "I would also like to hear from anyone who has dash cam, private CCTV or doorbell footage from the Lincluden area around the time of the incident. "Any information, or footage, could prove vital, so please do pass it on to officers. "Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 4575 of 17 May. Earlier today, in a separate incident, we reported that a man had been struck with a jeep in a hit and run while waiting at a bus stop in Glasgow. At around 1.20pm on Monday, May 19, a blue Jeep was involved in a collision with a 41-year-old man who was standing at a bus stop on Dyke Road in the city. The car failed to stop and drove away in the direction of Culbin Drive. The pedestrian did not require any medical treatment. Sergeant Iain Allison made an appeal to the public for any witnesses to help with their enquiries. He said: 'I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything to please come forward. 'From our enquiries so far, we understand there were other members of the public at this bus stop and we are keen to speak with them as they may be able to assist with our investigation.
