Supercharge Your Spritz: Best New Aperitifs And NA Alternatives For National Spritz Day
Get ready to meet some unexpected aperitifs and handcrafted bitters that might just bump your go-to off its pedestal, discover my favorite canned non-alcoholic spritzes, picnic-friendly bottled spritzes and even one for the cannabis-curious.
Fun Alternatives for Your Spritz Cocktail
Spritz riffs abound with L'Apero les Trois fruit-infused aperitifs.
L'Apero Les Trois – Homestead Quince
A vermouth in a spritz? Based in Northern California, L'Apero les Trois infuses Berryessa Gap Vineyards wine with herbs and local fruits and nuts, like apricots, black mission figs and black walnuts. But it is their Homestead Quince aperitif that really intrigued me in my spritz research. 'Quince absorbs the flavor of whatever it's combined with,' says co-creator, chef and food writer Georgeanne Brennan. 'Combined here with Chardonnay, the result is a delicate, faint honey flavor which produces a light, yet elegant and slightly exotic spritz.' This small-batch vermouth isn't just for sipping straight. it's a sophisticated low-alcohol base for a more 'indie', nuanced spritz. Next up, I'll be making spritzes with the Black Mission Fig vermouth.
Handshake Persian bitters from Portland, Maine.
Rooted in Persian heritage and Portland's vibrant food scene, Handshake Bitters is part digestif, part storybook. Founder Shahin Khojastehzad, formerly of the craft beer world, incorporates over 29 globetrotting botanicals—like saffron, sumac, black fermented limes, Maine hops, and spruce tips. Traditionally sipped after meals, this digestif also works well for making big, bold spritzes. Rich, layered, and made with intention, Handshake is a modern bitter with old-world soul.
Rue de Rêve Rouge.
Rue de Rêve Rouge is a wine-based twist on classic red bitter liqueurs. Built on organic red wine and grape brandy, it's infused with tart fruit, earthy herbs, and artemisia douglasiana (aka the 'dream plant'), giving it that signature amaro-like edge. It hits those familiar bitter-sweet notes with balance and elegance — no artificial dyes, no syrupy finish. Just add soda or prosecco and an orange or lemon twist, and you've got a spritz that feels refined, adventurous, and unmistakably West Coast. It's aperitivo hour, but with Golden State vibes.
Sarti Rose is the new go-to spritz star across the pond.
If Barbie had an aperitif, this would be it. Sarti Rosa is the hot-pink sip lighting up Paris and London terraces this summer — and for good reason. Think of it as Aperol's flirtier, fruitier cousin: made with Sicilian blood orange, passionfruit, and mango, it's juicier and sweeter, but still totally spritz-worthy. The real showstopper? That electric pink hue turns any wine glass into instant eye candy. Sadly, it's still hard to find in the U.S., so if you're reading this abroad, drink up… I'm jealous.
Free Spirits' Milano is a stellar non-alcoholic red bitter drink, perfect to add to soda or even ... More sparkling wine if you want to keep your outing out low alcohol.
The Spirit of Aperitivo Milano by The Free Spirits Company is one of the few non-alcoholic spirits that actually delivers. Yes, I can verify it actually tastes like my beloved Campari (more so than tasting like Aperol). Made through a process called 'distillate reconstruction', it layers real botanicals—bitter orange, rhubarb, clove, cinnamon—into a bright, bittersweet pour with real depth and structure. And even better? It's has vitamins in it! The non-alcoholic red bitter drink has B3, B6, and B12 to support energy and mood. Mix it with grapefruit soda and it's refreshing and, most importantly. satisfying.
Non-Alcoholic Spritzes (canned)
If Aperol or Campari Spritz had a wellness-obsessed Gen Z cousin, this would be it. De Soi's Spritz Italiano, co-founded by Katy Perry (yes, that Katy, the same one who sings well and launched Peeps shoes), serves up a bittersweet, citrusy punch that feels way fancier than anything that comes from a can. The blend of white grape, earthy gentian root, and a whisper of orange peel hits all the aperitivo notes, without the alcohol. Bonus: the calming adaptogens actually do mellow your mood. It's perfect for a golden hour hang when you want to feel a little buzzy without, well, the groggy morning after.
Lyre's has several spritz variations to bring to your next soiree.
Close your eyes, take a sip, and you're basically on a balcony in Positano. Lyre's Amalfi Spritz manages to capture that iconic coastal Italian aperitivo moment — all without the booze. It's bright, a little bitter, and just sweet enough, with those classic orange and herbal notes in the backdrop. Serve it super chilled with a slice of orange and you've got yourself an instant getaway in a can. It's your spritz… minus the need-a-nap-after-brunch territory.
TCH-infused spritzes by Artet. Yes, It's a thing.
Artet's Spritz Party Pack is like a grown-up goodie bag: THC-infused (but only 2.5mg), amaro-inspired, and refreshingly complex. Each can brings a unique vibe, from Mango Ginger and Strawberry Basil to Chamomile Lemon. Whether you're canna-curious or a seasoned microdoser, Artet may be the just what the party ordered. (And no, it does not taste like you're smoking a joint.)
Bottled Spritzes
Chandon Garden Spritz in a bottle! Who knew life could be this wonderful.
Come to the party with a ready-made spritz in a swanky bottle and you've already scored major social points for originality. CHANDON Garden Spritz offers the chance to do just that. Blending sparkling wine with a house-made bitters infused with macerated Valencia oranges, herbs, and spices, it's refreshingly dry and complex. Just pour over ice, garnish with rosemary and a slice of dried orange, and you've got a bar-worthy spritz in seconds—no bartender needed. It makes a great affordable host or hostess gift, too.
Fabrizia's bottled Limoncello Spritz is a ready-to-serve cocktail that delivers true Italian refreshment with zero fuss. Made with just three clean ingredients—premium Italian sparkling wine, Fabrizia's own all-natural limoncello (crafted from Sicilian lemons), and soda water—it's bright, balanced, and unmistakably amore. With 10% ABV, it's strong enough to stand on its own, yet light and breezy enough for any warm-weather, all-day gathering. Unscrew the cap, pour over ice, and you've got a sophisticated spritz—no measuring, no shaking, and no shortcuts on flavor.

Look Rich For Less: 32 Affordable Fashion Finds
A pair of extra-wide-leg darted palazzo pants that'll allow for ample airflow. It's basically like wearing a dress, but you don't have to worry about accidentally flashing anyone if a gust of wind catches you by surprise. A silky satin midi skirt with a silhouette that says "chic" and an elastic waistband that says "I'll give your most comfortable sweats a run for their money." A super affordable Quince 100% linen vest one reviewer (see below ⬇️) says is comparable in quality to $100+ options from brick-and-mortar retailers. Slingback heels for anyone leaning into their timeless French fashion era. What can I say? The French know what they're doing, and these Chanel-inspired heels are a no-brainer. An A-line, linen-blend midi dress that looks like it's from Reformation but it's actually from Old Navy (!!!) so you won't have to budget for months in order to afford it. A pair of $15 oval sunnies reviewers say may or may not look like a $500+ Celine pair 👀 and I'm right there with them. A long-sleeve bodysuit in a deliciously soft fabric — known as Smoke Cloud — that reviewers compare to Skims. They say it washes well, too, so you can count on it being high quality despite the deceivingly low price! A faux-leather bag that can straight up pass for Polène's Cyme. Despite its low price point, reviewers say the quality and detail — from the stitching to the hardware — is there. 👏 A pair of 100% European linen pants you *will* reach for every. single. day. — and I say this from experience. (If you're my friend and you've seen me wear these two days in a row... no, you didn't.) A stretchy bodycon pencil dress that'll basically feel like a second skin. Some reviewers say they were considering splurging on the Skims version until they tried this and loved it just as much! A pair of stylish teardrop earrings if you want the luxe look of Bottega Veneta but don't want to drop the equivalent of a month's rent on them — especially with how often you misplace things. A sleeveless matching A-line set so you don't have to put any thought into putting an outfit together — the work has been done for you! It also looks veryyyy similar to a $78 set from another brand that begins with A. A CZ tennis bracelet that — according to reviewers — can pass for real-deal diamonds, especially when incorporated in a sparkly stack. An affordable sleeveless exercise romper with a medium-compression drop waist that keeps everything in place so you don't end up with dreaded diaper butt — the downfall of any subpar jumpsuit. A set of gold-plated cartilage cuffs you can slip on for the look of two extra piercings. If you've been debating a conch but don't want to baby your ear for up to nine months (yes, that's how long it can take to heal!), try this on for size. A versatile sweater vest with chunky gold buttons to match your chunky gold hoops, chunky gold bangles, and chunky gold platform Birkenstocks. A Kitsch flat claw clip if you're sick of having to adjust your hair anytime you want to comfortably lie down on the couch or lean back in a chair. It's also much safer when driving! A sophisticated laptop tote bag that looks a whole lot like one from Beis but for a fraction of the price. 👀 It'll fit your laptop, your wallet, your snackies, and more, so you don't have to schlep several bags to the office. A Skims-inspired square-neck compressive body suit with built-in shapewear that eliminates the need for undergarments. Don't worry — it's nice and thick! A stacking ring set you can wear together or space out so several fingers can get in on the fun. Friends will think you sourced them individually, but really, the work was done for you. Or a dazzling cubic zirconia ring that looks *just* like the one you've seen on the hand of many a celeb and influencer — but for $10. Just keep it away from water (and maybe don't wear it to Solidcore classes if you sweat a lot), and you'll get your money's worth. An elegant stainless steel Timex watch with a petite oval face and stretchy design that makes it a cinch to slide on and off. Yay for no clasps!! A genuine leather belt that'll literally tie your whole 'fit together and ensure you get ample wear out of all of your bottoms, even if you gain/lose a few pounds here and there. A gold-plated paper clip necklace that reviewers say can even withstand frequent showers and trips to the beach! An on-trend vest top with a slightly cropped silhouette that'll pair per-fectly with all of your high-waisted bottoms and chunky gold accessories. Suede clogs 👀 that'll only run you $40 if budget is a concern but you wanna be on-trend. Reviewers say that just like more expensive Birkenstock options, they even mold to your feet the more you wear them. An asymmetrical waist midi dress you can slip on for a work event, date night, surprise birthday party, and whatever else is on your calendar. Some 18K gold-dipped twisted hoops that take ~literally~ no effort or know-how to style. While they're pretty substantial in size, they are unbelievably lightweight, so you don't have to worry about saggy lobes. A stunning acrylic clutch with room for your keys, cards/cash, and Dior Lip Glow Oil 'cause TikTok has you in a chokehold and you *will* buy whatever the Gen Z influencers tell you to. A two-piece lounge set that looks exactlyyyy like what I imagine a wealthy woman who drives a G-Wagon and goes to reformer Pilates every day would wear. That said, it's actually under $50, so it fits your *very normal* used Camry/free YouTube full-body workout budget. A simple herringbone chain you can wear alone or layer with 12 of your other fave necklaces because sometimes more *is* more. And a pair of high-waisted linen shorts that make it look like you have a vacation home on Nantucket, even if you've never been there.

I've Tried Tons of Work Bags But This $130 Quince Bag is My Go-To
As a city girl with a lot of stuff, I've gone through my fair share of work totes—leather totes, slouchy totes, totes big enough to fit a giant planner, a packed lunch, and a return package I need to ship off—all in an effort to find the perfect daily bag. I've found some really functional ones over the years, but hadn't found a really stylish option that didn't cost an arm and a leg until I came across this suede bag while writing our Quince review. Let's be honest: What caught my eye is that it's verrryyyy similar to The Row's Suede Bindle bag. But! It's not the exact same silhouette (aka a knock-off) so wear it with pride! You're not like other girls! (Jk, I am exactly like other girls and I love it.) I also had questions: Would the $130 bag look cheaper in real life? Was it practical enough, with space for all of my junk? Would its perfect slouchiness equal a lack of the structure I needed for laptop-supporting purposes? Time to find out! Yes! The bag is made of 100% Italian calf suede made in a Leather Working Group certified tannery, which means that they're working on reducing energy and water waste. It may be a tote bag but it feels a million times more luxurious than my usual canvas totes, and the structured bottom has held up nicely even when I load up the bag with a gigantic water bottle, seven lipsticks, a paperback book, and a MacBook. As for colors, it's available in the shade Chocolate (a slightly darker brown than my bag, which is in the currently out-of-stock shade Whiskey) and Sand, a lighter beige suede colorway that I have my eye on. And yes, it's a vibe twin (aka not exactly the same, but similar in ~essence~) to Dakota Johnson's favorite Bindle Bag that she's been spotted with over and over. If I can't have Dakota's gorgeous green kitchen, I'll settle for this purse! I even found Quince's verison to be better for me since it's more shallow, which I actually appreciate since it means less time digging for my keys while still holding everything I need. The bag measures 11" (height) x 17.5" (width) x 4.75" (depth), with a 11" shoulder strap drop that I LOVE. Nothing worse than trying to fit a too-short strap over a jacket sleeve or puffy coat. There's also an internal zip pocket as well as a bigger slip pocket that's perfect for holding my little card case (it always manages to get lost at the bottom of my purse). I also got my hands on Quince's leather slouchy bag in the shade Mink, hoping that it would be similar to the iconic Coach Brooklyn bag that Bella Hadid is constantly photographed carrying around. And honestly, I didn't feel the same love I had for its suede sister. Even though both are the exact same pattern and structure, the leather felt stiff rather than supple, and lay awkwardly on my shoulder. Something about the fabric just didn't sit right, making it look cheaper. It isn't available on the site anymore, but it's worth noting that seeing the two fabrications side by side just made me appreciate the suede version even more. YES. It takes a lot to impress me but I'm honestly considering buying a second one in a different color to swap out with various outfits. The bag is beautiful, sturdier than I expected, and just big enough. Buy one for your mom, your grandma, your really cool coworker—maybe Dakota Johnson would be interested in one of these Quince bags, too?! 15 Stylish Ways to Try the Gingham Print Trend This Summer—Shop Everlane, Quince, and More, From $10
Reminiscent of backyard barbecues and parkside picnics, the gingham print trend taking social media by storm embodies all of my favorite parts of summer. Excited to hop on the gingham trend myself, I took a risk on a $10 pair of red gingham shorts from Amazon (see photos below)—and now, I'm on the hunt for even more budget-friendly gingham styles I can stuff my summer travel wardrobe with. If you, too, have been obsessed with the gingham trend this season, keep scrolling. Ahead, I've gathered 15 gingham shorts, dresses, skirts, tops, and accessories that you'll want to pack for all of your summer adventures. Handpicked from some of my go-to travel clothing brands, including Everlane, Quince, and Factory, these styles are lightweight, comfortable, seriously cute, and well under $100 each—all important qualities to consider when shopping for new clothes, in my opinion. Behold—my new favorite summer shorts! These red gingham shorts from Anrabess are lightweight, comfy, and absolutely adorable to boot. I was skeptical at first about how well they'd fit; I'm 5-foot-9, have large thighs, and I float between a size 14 and 16, so buying clothes on Amazon can be a gamble. Multiple positive five-star reviews from other curvy gals convinced me to buy them anyway in my regular XL shorts size, and I'm so glad I did. These gingham shorts are long enough to fully cover my derriere, while still showing off my legs. Now that I've tried these trendy $10 shorts out for myself, I've already repurchased them in three other colors. These adorable gingham ballet flats are practically begging to be worn with a flowy, white sundress. Made with a breathable mesh material and a roomy, rounded toe box, these flats will keep you cool and comfortable on warm, sunny days. Choosing between the red gingham and blue gingham prints might be difficult, but I've got great news: They're on major sale right now, up to 65 percent off. That means you can buy both the blue and red styles for $26 less than the original price of one pair. You're welcome! $44 $27 at Statement bags are a great way to dip your foot into a trend without fully committing your outfit to them. This mini shoulder bag from Baggu has an adjustable strap, a full zipper opening, and is crafted with a recycled ripstop nylon fabric that's durable, machine-washable, and easy to wipe clean. On sale for just $27, this minty-green gingham bag offers a fun, funky break away from the more common gingham colors of red, blue, black, and yellow. is a treasure trove of classic Americana designs, so it's no surprise that the brand has a variety of high-quality gingham staples to choose from. One of my favorite styles from the bunch is this long-sleeved button-down shirt, which is on sale right now for under $50. Carried up to a size 3XL, this breezy shirt is made with 100 percent cotton and has a timeless silhouette that will stand the test of time. Tuck it into linen trousers, or layer it on over a tank top and shorts—however you decide to style it, you can't go wrong with this gingham button-down. Available in 10 summery pastel gingham prints—including light pink, sky blue, and butter yellow—this stretchy, flowy sundress may just be the comfiest way to hop on the gingham dress bandwagon. Amazon shoppers of all heights, shapes, and sizes have given this dress a five-star rating for fit, thanks to its size range, stretchy bodice, and midi length. One reviewer wrote that the smocked chest was accommodating for her large bust, and another reviewer shared that the tiered skirt was a flattering shape for her apple-shaped figure. One reviewer who was 32 weeks pregnant even wrote that it was both petite- and baby bump-friendly. Gingham is a print typically reserved for casual summer affairs, but these wide-leg gingham pants from Everlane have a polished silhouette that can be dressed up or down for any occasion. Made with a unique blend of European flax linen, viscose, and elastane, these roomy pants tout even more comfort thanks to their stretchy fabric. Previously $158, these flowy gingham pants are on sale for just $79. $60 $30 at Featuring billowy bubble sleeves, a scoop neckline, and an ultra-stretchy waist, this darling smocked blouse is the easiest way to dress up a pair of denim cutoffs. Currently on sale for 50 percent off, this top comes in three gingham prints—blue, red, and black—and has a cropped length that looks chic against high-waist pants, skirts, and shorts. $128 $30 at Whether you're strolling through cobblestone streets abroad or heading to a neighborhood cookout, this navy maxi skirt is bound to catch a few compliments. Made with a lightweight linen fabric, this ankle-length gingham dress is functional and comfortable, too, thanks to deep side pockets and an elastic, adjustable drawstring waistband. Previously $128, this Max Studio gingham skirt is an absolute steal right now at 76 percent off, marking its final price down to just $30. This fitted tank top combines two of my favorite qualities of Quince clothes: High-quality fabrics and simple designs. Made with 100 percent European linen, this wear-everywhere tank top has a flattering square neckline and a smocked panel at the back that stretches with you while you move. 'This top is perfect for mixing and matching all summer long,' wrote one five-star reviewer. 'I've worn it with skirts and shorts, and it instantly dresses up my style.' $92 $55 at This Wishlist midi dress combines two of my favorite trends of the year: Milkmaid dresses and gingham prints. On sale for $55, this dress has a corset-like middle that won't actually cut off your airflow thanks to a large, stretchy smock panel on the back. The structured bodice, tie-front detail, and A-line skirt add even more delicate touches to this romantic milkmaid style. $188 $50 at Love a great deal?
