Sabyasachi All Set To Showcase Bengal-Inspired Jewels At Harrods - A British Luxury Emporium In London

Maximilist designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee has taken high jewellery, steeped in India's rich culture, to London. The Indian designer is all set to showcase his latest jewellery collection at Harrods - a home of lucury shopping on Brompton Road in Knightsbridge, London.
The exclusive collection will be showcased from July 21st to 27th, 2025, in the private Penthouse Suite on the top floor of the storied British luxury emporium, Harrods.
"I am honoured to present Sabyasachi High Jewellery at Harrods in London, the epicentre of taste and sophistication, which showcases the pinnacle of the world's finery. This residency will bring the best of Indian craftsmanship and design to the unparalleled, global clients of Harrods. Together we will delight the senses of the world's most discerning and uncompromising customers," shares Sabyasachi.
The inspiration behind the most exemplary pieces of this collaboration between the legendary Indian design house and the storied British luxury emporium is Indian heritage and culture. The two jewellery collections - Bengal Royale and Bengal Byzantine Broadway - are deeply rooted in Indian craft and goldsmithing traditions of North Calcutta.
The Bengal Royale collection takes inspiration from the 1920s, when rebellion, conflict, and
passion were at their peak in North Calcutta. It was an expansive time for jewellery making in India when European techniques came together with Mughal heritage and Bengali filigree craftsmanship. With echoes crossing the Georgian age to the Belle Époque, The Bengal Royale collection is Sabyasachi's ode to an era of iconic thought, craftsmanship, and sartorial brilliance.
For Bengal Byzantine Broadway, Sabyasachi mingled the master craftsmanship of Bengal with gilded Byzantine magnificence and the theatrical power of the modern world. A celebration of Art Deco geometry, tropical whimsy, and heritage Indian embroideries that showcases the fine gold-smithing of the Babus of Bengal. The collection interlaces the east and west, traditional and rebellious, the precious and profane, and the sensorial with the intellectual.
As designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee remarks, "My two decades as a colourist guide me as a jeweller, especially when working with multi-coloured gemstones. For me, the quality of gemstones is a given, but the beauty of jewellery-making is in disrupting the hierarchy of precious stones and mixing them in a fierce amalgamation of modernity and traditionalism."

‘Humara aashirwad hai': Indian family's sweet encounter with biker couple in Switzerland melts millions of hearts

A biker embarking on an extraordinary journey from Delhi to London with his wife shared a heartwarming moment from Switzerland that struck a chord with Indians worldwide. Auto enthusiast and travel content creator Prateek Chaturvedi, who is riding across 24 countries with his wife Shikha, posted a video on Instagram showing them taking a short break at a picturesque Swiss location. As he stood by his heavily modified bike, carefully designed to store everything needed for their long road trip, an Indian family happened to pass by. The interaction turned touching when the man noticed the tricolour on the biker's jacket. (Instagram/mysticriderprateek) Intrigued, the man from the family struck up a conversation, visibly amazed by the customisations on Chaturvedi's motorcycle. When the biker revealed that they were travelling through 24 countries, the man's curiosity grew. His family gathered closer, listening intently as the biker explained that he and his wife, both IT professionals, had taken five months off work to fulfil their dream road trip. The interaction turned especially touching when the man noticed the tricolour on Chaturvedi's jacket. Placing his hand on it, he smiled and said, 'Yeh dekh kar bahot anand hua. Humara aashirwaad hai (Seeing this filled us with joy. Our blessings are with you.' He also posed for a photograph with the couple, offering his heartfelt wishes for the journey ahead. 'Bacche log bahot accha kaam krrhe hain. Very nice. Har ek hindustani ka blessing hoga aapke saath (You kids are doing a great job. The blessings of every Indian are with you),' he added before bidding them farewell. 'His reaction on seeing the Indian National Flag was priceless & his love & support made our day,' the biker wrote. The video has since gone viral, racking up more than two million likes on Instagram and prompting an outpouring of emotion. 'Humara ashirvad hai – ghar se door ghar mil jaata hai (You found home away from home),' wrote one user. Another commented, 'This is the appreciation and support required from elders, instead of just for celebration and growing wealth.' A third noted, 'Ye hi Indian culture aapne log dekh ke kitna khus ho gaye, especially Indian flag dekh ke hamara ashirwad hai aapke saath pure emotion. ("This is Indian culture — they became so happy seeing our people, especially after seeing the Indian flag. Our blessings are with you, pure emotion.)"

Viral Video: Lover Sneaks Into Girlfriend's House At Night, Wakes Up To A Situation He Never Imagined

The video shows the girl placing a tilak on her lover's forehead as he applies sindoor to her hair but what catches the attention of many viewers is the groom's expression Viral clips on social media often range from bizarre pranks to heated public confrontations. But one recent video has left viewers both amused and stunned; not because of a fight or a dramatic revelation, but because a late-night romantic rendezvous turned into an unexpected wedding. The incident came to light through Instagram user Ranjeet Singh (@ranjeet__singh_60), who shared footage showing a young man allegedly sneaking into his girlfriend's house under the cover of darkness. According to the video, the boy, driven by eagerness to meet her, entered the home at midnight. But his plan fell apart when her family woke up and caught him inside. By morning, the matter had escalated beyond the household. The girl's relatives called in villagers, and in a scene reminiscent of rural social arbitration, a decision was made – the couple should be married immediately. The video shows the girl placing a tilak on the young man's forehead before he applies sindoor to her hair parting. What catches the attention of many viewers, however, is the groom's expression – not joy, but visible shock. Commenters have suggested he may have only intended to spend time with his girlfriend, not commit to marriage on the spot. Further intrigue came when a follow-up video emerged, showing the boy declaring he would stand by his new wife despite his family's refusal to accept the union. 'Wherever I live, I will keep her with me," he said in the clip. Reactions to this statement were sharply divided. 'The mother who gave birth is the one snatching the happiness of the son," wrote Seema Kumari, while another commenter argued, 'No one respects those who do not respect their parents." Some, like Vijay Kumar, took a more pragmatic view, saying, 'Having courage is not enough; settling down in life is a big thing." Whether viewed as a story of love defying opposition or a cautionary tale about midnight visits, the video has cemented its place as one of the latest viral sensations on Indian social media. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal To Film Love & War At MP's British-Era Army Base

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's period drama Love & War will film in Madhya Pradesh, at a British-era army base. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, it releases in 2026. Sanjay Leela Bhansali's highly anticipated period drama Love & War is gearing up for its next phase of filming in Madhya Pradesh. After extensive shoots in Mumbai and planned sequences in Europe, the production is set to utilise a British-era army base in the town of Mhow to capture the film's authentic period setting. According to sources familiar with the project, the filmmakers have chosen Mhow, a town known for its colonial military heritage, as a primary location to depict artillery and military life from the pre-independence era. The location's preserved British army base offers an ideal backdrop that aligns with the film's historical narrative. 'The team will be shooting for close to 15 days here, with major portions requiring Vicky Kaushal and Ranbir Kapoor. As of now, they are on standby waiting for the permissions. Once that is cleared, they will fly to MP to kick-start the shoot," said an insider to India Today. Mhow, also called Dr Ambedkar Nagar after its most famous son, Dr B.R. Ambedkar, lies about 23 kilometers from Indore. Established in 1818 by John Malcolm, the town served as the headquarters of the 5th (Mhow) Division of the Southern Command during British rule. Today, it remains a significant center for the Indian Army, housing three premier military training institutions. The acronym Mhow is popularly understood to mean 'Military Headquarters Of Warfare,' reflecting its longstanding martial importance. Following the shoot in Madhya Pradesh, the Love & War team plans to travel to Italy in October for further filming. The production aims to complete shooting before the end of 2025, despite reports of earlier delays. Set against the backdrop of a fictional war, Love & War is reportedly a passionate love story exploring the intricacies of friendship, relationships, and sacrifice. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, a real-life couple, alongside Vicky Kaushal. This upcoming release is slated for 2026.
