Residents in hilly regions, landslide-prone areas, and near rivers have been advised to remain rain accompanied by thunder and lightning are expected across several districts of Arunachal Pradesh over the next 24 hours. The weather department in its latest weather bulletin alerted against 'extremely heavy rainfall' at isolated places over Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on August 3. 'Extremely heavy rainfall very likely at isolated places over Kerala and ghat areas of Tamil Nadu on 05th August,' IMD stated amid fisherman warning for coastal areas adjoining Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal until August 7. Isolated heavy rainfall warning is in place for the following regions: In Tamil Nadu, Kerala until August 8 Over coastal and North Interior Karnataka between August 5 and 8. Over coastal Andhra Pradesh over the next 2 days and in Rayalaseema until August 6 In Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab over the next 3 days In Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh until August 6. In Uttarakhand until August 8 Over East Uttar Pradesh and northeast Rajasthan until August 5. For August 4, an orange alert for heavy rains is in place for Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Sikkim, West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. No rainfall alert for Delhi-NCR is in place, although the national capital received intense showers on Sunday morning. As per IMD's weather forecast dated August 2, the skies across Delhi-NCR are expected to remain 'generally cloudy.' IMD forecasted a few spells of light to moderate rain and thundershower. The maximum and minimum temperatures in Delhi are likely to settle around 31 to 33 degrees Celsius and 24 to 26 degrees Celsius respectively.

NEW DELHI: Heavy rainfall lashed several parts of Delhi on Sunday, offering much-needed relief from the sweltering humidity but also triggering waterlogging in key areas across the city. Localities such as Vijay Chowk, Connaught Place, Minto Bridge, Sarojini Nagar, AIIMS, and Panchkuian Marg witnessed intense showers, leading to traffic disruptions and water accumulation on major roads. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had forecast light to moderate rainfall in Delhi-NCR for Thursday morning. Showers were reported in areas like Janpath, Lajpat Nagar, and Minto Bridge, following a day of heavy rain that had already disrupted daily life in parts of the city. Moreover, the monsoon is expected to remain weak over central India, including Maharashtra, for at least the next 10 days, according to the IMD.
