Fans set for behind-the-scenes look at academy making big strides in documentary
THE Cherries are set to release a five-part documentary showcasing its academy.
The Pathway will focus on the inner workings of the youth department in its second season at category two level, from the club's U16s to graduates earning their first team debuts.
The documentary includes a special interview with former academy manager Joe Roach as it shows the work to produce the next senior debutant for AFC Bournemouth.
Academy manager Sam Gisborne told afcb.co.uk: 'There is such a vast array of things that happen every day in the academy. It's just a real insight into the people that work in there, and how we work.

'Because it can be quite a closed-door thing in an academy, it's nice to give the supporters of AFC Bournemouth an insight into what we do.
'Even though there are five episodes, it's a small snapshot of what happens every year. There's no better season to pick than this season because we have really developed continuously.
'This season, we have probably made more strides than we ever have, in terms of being the academy we want to be.
'You also get a historical moment of Joe Roach in one of the episodes. Joe worked for us for 21 years and built a lot of the processes we follow, a lot of the rules we have. You will see the standards we set every day and they are probably what Joe instilled.
'Overall, the one thing I want fans to take away is how much goes on, how much good work there is and how many good people there are looking after the young players from the south coast, trying to make the next AFC Bournemouth first-team player.'
Episode one of the documentary will be available to watch at 4pm on Wednesday, June 11 via afcbTV and the club's YouTube channel.
Episodes will be released every two days thereafter.

How to watch League One play-off final: TV channel and live stream for Charlton vs Leyton Orient today
The League One promotion play-offs will be decided by an all-London tie, with Charlton and Leyton Orient set to face off at Wembley Stadium. It has been an up-and-down season for Charlton under Nathan Jones. They sat 12th at Christmas but have rallied in 2025, winning 16 of 24 League ties as they narrowly missed out on automatic promotion. Advertisement Orient, chasing a first return to the second tier since 1995, have been similarly resurgent of late, ending the season on a run of six wins to pip Reading to a playoff spot. They required penalties to beat Stockport in the semi-final, but Tottenham loanee Josh Keeley was the hero between the sticks, making a crucial save. For Charlton, an opportunity presents itself for the club to end a five-year stay in the third tier. They were relegated from the Championship in 2020, immediately after being promoted the previous season. Their play-off semi-final was a nervy one. The Addicks drew 0-0 with Wycombe Wanderers in the first leg, before Matt Godden left it to the 81st minute of the second to score the winner. Charlton will vie for promotion in front of a sympathetic Wembley crowd after selling out their initial 36,945 ticket allocation in just 40 minutes. How to watch League One play-off final TV channel: In the UK, Charlton vs Leyton Orient is being shown live on Sky Sports Football. Coverage of the League One play-off final gets underway at noon BST ahead of a 1:01pm BST kick-off. Live stream: Sky Sports subscribers can also watch the game live online via the Sky Go app. Live blog: Follow all the action tonight with Standard Sport's live blog.

Rodgers a 'big driver' in O'Dea's Swansea move
Darren O'Dea says Brendan Rodgers played a pivotal role in his decision to leave Celtic to become assistant head coach at Swansea City. Former Republic of Ireland international O'Dea held the role of player pathway manager with ex-Swans boss Rodgers' side but has now linked up with compatriot Alan Sheehan at the Stadium. Advertisement "This club is similar to Celtic in that it has a real identity, it is not just enough to come in here and just win, there needs to be more. There needs to be a product on the pitch that the fans relate to," said O'Dea. "Speaking to Brendan, who has been brilliant in all this, he talked about the fanbase having a big understanding of their football. "He could not have spoken more highly of the club and the city, and the DNA of the club. "That is a real big driver in me wanting to come here, it's really important to me." Following Luke Williams' exit in February, Swansea collected 24 points from 13 matches at a rate of 1.85 points per game under Sheehan last season, the joint-third highest points tally in the Championship over that period. Advertisement And O'Dea says he regularly watched Swansea last term as part of his role with Celtic. "The guys here did a fantastic job over the final part of last season, I watched a number of games last season while I was at Celtic as it was part of my responsibilities to be monitoring and watching football across Europe," he added. "I am well versed in what the team looks like, and the players, I am looking forward to getting to know them."
