A Bolton cinema has been shortlisted for a top award.
The Light in Market Place Shopping Centre has made the final ten of the Bolton News' Best Family Entertainment Venue 2025.
It opened in 2016 and has has nine 'state of the art' screens and is the only town centre cinema in Bolton.
It also has a bar area. Tickets for films are from just £5.99.
Since is opened it has been a huge hit and a great addition to the offering at Market Place Shopping Centre.

"We went on a Thursday afternoon and there were only five of us in the screen, pity more people aren't using it at only £5 per person for anyone over 60 on a Thursday, it's a bargain. Look/ask for Silver Screen."
Another customer added: "Nice modern cinema based in Bolton's indoor market shopping centre.
"Plenty of parking in the multistory next door. We called during the day and virtually had it to ourselves.
"The Staff are nice and friendly. Very clean inside. Nice clean toilets. There's a bar serving alcohol and tea/coffee as well as snacks. A nice seating area for waiting before you go in."
A third explained: "Been here a few times with my little ones for the kids screenings and it has always been a really great experience.
"The staff are really friendly and welcoming, the front of house and each screen room is clean and tidy and my kids always comment on how comfy the seats are!
"The food is good and reasonably priced to especially compared to other cinema chains."
"Good cinema. Clean and nice staff. Tickets are affordable. Food is typical for a cinema. Been many times and will go many more," another happy punter said.

The Bolton branch of a chippy chain has been nominated for an award. Mother Hubbard's on St Helens Road is one of the 10 finalists for the Bolton News Best Chippy Award. Bolton News readers have been nominating their favourite fish and chip shops in the borough. The "traditional" chain has been serving up its hearty food since 1972, when it was founded on Ingleby Road in Bradford. It was opened on May 3 of that year by Coronation Street favourites, Stan & Hilda Ogden, played by Bernard Youens and Jean Alexander. At that time, fish and chips were served at just 45p per portion. Mother Hubbard's in Bolton Since then it has grown to run multiple shops across the country, including its St Helens Road store, which was opened in 2021. A soft play centre with laser tag and a cafe has been nominated for an award. Party and Play Funhouse in Westhoughton is one of the 10 finalists in our Bolton News Best Family Indoor Entertainment award. The business has served the town for over 15 years, offering both indoor and outdoor play centres, as well as parties, private events and laser tag. It also has an inhouse cafe, which offers party food, cafe treats and tasty snacks. It was also recently awarded a five star Food Hygiene Rating. Centre assistant Tracey Davies said: "We are one of the largest soft play centres in the Bolton area. We have indoor and outdoor play areas and a sensory studio for babies under 12 months. "We do laser tag, which we use the play frame for, multi-level laser tag. The biggest thing that makes us stand out is our outdoor play space, you don't find that with most places. We noticed a gap and we thought we could provide a fun, vibrant space that targeted different demographics. "I wasn't in the business before we launched, I was in the shutter business, Pete was in electronics. We all took the plunge, we're very lucky that it paid off. We become a bar in the evening, which is good as we can cater to as many people as possible. 'The vault has games from all eras – vintage and new, including VR, roller-coaster simulations and retro games. There's a pool area for people wanting more of a relaxed vibe.
