Prince William and Kate Middleton 'eyeing up move to bigger Royal home'
Prince William and Kate Middleton are reportedly on the hunt for a new, grander Royal residence, despite only moving to their current spot just three years ago.
The couple moved to Adelaide Cottage in 2022, and while it's a comfortable abode within the grounds of Windsor Castle, it was never expected to be their permanent base, reports the Mirror.
The four-bedroom property is relatively modest by Royal standards, and it's understood that they've been discreetly exploring other options, with insiders suggesting they have a preferred choice.
Adelaide Cottage pales in comparison to the family's previous full-time residence - a lavish apartment in Kensington Palace - and they're seeking a larger home for their children, George, Charlotte and Louis.
It seems that the top contender is Fort Belvedere, a magnificent gothic revival mansion located in Windsor Great Park. Sources told the Mail on Sunday that William and Kate might be considering the 18th Century estate.
It was the favourite home of Edward VIII before he abdicated to marry Wallis Simpson. Edward renovated the property, adding a swimming pool, tennis court, and stables.
It's a vast estate with a long driveway leading to the entrance and even boasts a moat. It's believed that William and Kate had previously considered the vacant Fort Belvedere before settling on Adelaide Cottage.
At that time, they reportedly felt that Adelaide Cottage was more suitable as it was closer to Queen Elizabeth, and they also wanted to provide their children with a more grounded upbringing.
However, the situation has evolved and the Grade II listed property could be the solution to their current itchy feet.
The Mail source said: "They feel they have outgrown Adelaide Cottage and need somewhere more substantial. This is the perfect new home for them. It has a swimming pool and tennis court, and Charlotte loves playing tennis."
Previously, it was suggested that the Wales family could expand their living space through an annex building by Adelaide Cottage, thus avoiding a move.
Another insider told the Express: "Nobody knows that there is quite a spacious red-brick annex building that's not being used next door to Adelaide Cottage. It's currently inhabitable and needs extensive renovation works if it were to be used.
"Discussions have been ongoing for a while about using the property as part of the overall cottage grounds, but it's just about finding the right time to kick the project off."
The Wales family's impending move isn't the only upheaval in the Firm at the moment. Speculation about potential peace negotiations between Prince Harry and King Charles has intensified in recent days.
It comes after reports that senior advisers to both Royals were seen at a London meeting. But a Royal commentator was unconvinced that healing the family divide is possible any more.
A confidant of Princess Anne had suggested that Harry should have turned to his aunt during his difficult period. But former BBC Royal correspondent Jennie Bond reckons it's now too late for the Duke of Sussex to seek counsel from the Princess Royal or rely on her to repair the fractured bond between himself and his father.
Ms Bond claimed Harry had been "extremely disloyal" to the Firm, which wouldn't be looked on well by Anne. She said: "To Anne, loyalty is paramount, and I suspect she feels that Harry has been extremely disloyal to his father, his brother and the monarchy. She might well find that hard to forgive."

Princess Charlotte sparks frenzy with behind-the-scenes photos from Lionesses' win
Princess Charlotte was on hand to cheer on the Lionesses as they roared to victory in the final of Euro 2025 - and she was captured in a series of behind-the-scenes shots with dad Prince William before the big match Princess Charlotte went through a rollercoaster of emotions as she watched the Lionesses roar to victory in the Euro 2025 final. The 10-year-old was pictured in the stands alongside her dad, Prince William, as they faced the agony of seeing England go 1-0 down to Spain before the ecstasy of them bringing it back level and then winning a nail-biting penalty shoot-out. But it seems it wasn't just Charlotte's facial expressions as she watched the match that sparked a frenzy - so did snaps showing her behind-the-scenes with William before the game. Before they made their way out to the stands, the father-daughter duo were introduced to members of the Spanish Royal Family, Princess Leonor and Princess Sofia. The sisters were also in Switzerland to cheer on their country, and pictures shared on social media by the Spanish Royal Family show the princess all meeting for the first time. Like William, Leonor is heir to the throne, while Sofia is the second daughter of King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain. And many on X were delighted to see that young princesses all got to meet before the match, with one fan saying: "Beautiful seeing Princess Charlotte with Crown Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia." Another wrote: "This is a great photo. Princess Charlotte has them all laughing! I hope she and Princess Leonor will develop a strong friendship." While one fan added: "Today's photo is historic. How lovely to see these young princesses together." And it seems the trio continued to hit it off in the stands, with Charlotte at one point appearing to share a joke with Leonor. After the Lionesses claimed their victory, William and Charlotte issued a message to the England team on the Kensington Royal social media accounts. The father-daughter duo wrote: "What a game! Lionesses, you are the champions of Europe, and we couldn't be prouder of the whole team. Enjoy this moment, England. W & Charlotte." Also applauding the Lionesses on social media was King Charles, who said: 'This brings you, your manager and all your support team my most heartfelt congratulations on winning the Euros 2025. For this, you have my whole family's warmest appreciation and admiration. 'More than that, though, you have shown through your example over the past weeks that there are no setbacks so tough that defeat cannot be transformed into victory, even as the final whistle looms. Well done, Lionesses. The next task is to bring home the World Cup in 2027 if you possibly can!"

Princess Charlotte's royal first during Lionesses' win that shakes up tradition
When the young princess joined Prince William in Switzerland for the show-stopping UEFA Women's final on Sunday night, Princess Charlotte switched up tradition in a historic first in her congratulations message to the Lionesses Princess Charlotte fist-pumped for joy as she watched England's Lionesses claim victory in their s econd successive European Championship title. And along with her dad Prince William she sent a message of congratulations to the team after their show-stopping win against Spain in Switzerland. Royal fans were delighted when the young princess joined her father last night for the nail-biting match, which all came down to a penalty shoot out. After the Lionesses claimed their victory, William and Charlotte issued a message to the England team on the Kensington Royal social media accounts, with eagle-eyed royal fans noticing a small but significant change in Charlotte's sign off on the message. The father-daughter duo wrote: "What a game! Lionesses, you are the champions of Europe and we couldn't be prouder of the whole team. Enjoy this moment England. W & Charlotte." Some fans pointed out that Charlotte's name was signed off in full, rather than the normal tradition of using just initials on social media - meaning it was her first statement with her full name. William, for instance, signed off using just a 'W' as he usually does for social media messages that he personally wrote. However, there may be one simple explanation for the switch up in sign off. Charlotte's name starts with the same letter as her mother Catherine. Historically, if the Prince and Princess of Wales co-sign a message, it is signed off as 'W & C'. So in order to differentiate with her mother's sign off, Charlotte opted for her full name. William and Charlotte, along with the thousands of other fans in the Basel stadium, went through a rollercoaster of emotions while watching the tense game between England and Spain, as they cheered on the Lionesses from the stands. The royal duo couldn't hide their feelings throughout the big game, as the 10-year-old princess was even seen covering her face with her hands as the intensity of the clash ripped through the stadium. William looked similarly stressed, clasping his hands together and grimacing before England equalised in the second half. But all nerves soon melted away as England became champions once more, and Charlotte joined William on the pitch to congratulate the players. Also applauding the Lionesses on social media was King Charles, who said: 'This brings you, your manager and all your support team my most heartfelt congratulations on winning the Euros 2025. For more years than I care to remember, England fans have sung that famous chant 'football's coming home'.
