Former Second Round Pick Re-Signs With Bucks on Sunday
Aside from the shocking move to waive All-Star guard Damian Lillard, the offseason moves that the Milwaukee Bucks have made are decent. On Sunday, the Bucks re-signed free agent guard Ryan Rollins to a three-year contract, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.

Charania reported on X that Rollins will earn $12 million over the three years of his new deal. The final year has a player option he can exercise or opt out of, his agents, Mike Silverman and Brandon Grier of Equity Sports, confirmed with the NBA insider.
After becoming an unrestricted free agent, Rollins was rewarded with a new deal.

In February, the former second-round pick from 2022 signed a two-way contract to play with the Bucks during the 2024-25 season. The contract was converted to a standard one, which made him an unrestricted free agent.
Last season, he averaged 6.2 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 56 games, 19 of which he started. When Rollins was a starter, he averaged 10.2 points and shot 48.6% from the field and 45.2% from deep.

Because of the way the 23-year-old guard played as a starter, he gained a lot of attention from Western Conference teams. Michael Scotto reported last week that the 6-foot-3 guard was a target by the Phoenix Suns, San Antonio Spurs, Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Lakers.
"Coming off the best season of his career, 23-year-old free agent guard Ryan Rollins has drawn interest from the Milwaukee Bucks, Phoenix Suns, San Antonio Spurs, Portland Trail Blazers, and Los Angeles Lakers, league sources told HoopsHype," Scotto wrote.
Without Lillard on the Bucks' roster, there's a chance for an increased bench role for Rollins.

Former Lakers guard, MVP could soon announce retirement from NBA at age 36
NBA offseasons aren't all about trades and free agency signings. There'll always be aging assets who must consider walking away from basketball after lengthy professional careers. A former Los Angeles Lakers guard and NBA MVP (as a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder) hasn't announced his retirement yet, but recent developments make it logical to state that his time in the league could come to an end soon. Advertisement Russell Westbrook spent the 2024-25 campaign with the Denver Nuggets following a career-low 11.1 points per game showing with the Los Angeles Clippers. Westbrook's role with the Nuggets wasn't dynamic, but as a pivotal reserve, the UCLA product helped lead the organization's second unit at age 36. Westbrook, who played alongside LeBron James in Los Angeles for 1.5 seasons, averaged 13.3 points, 6.1 assists, and 4.9 rebounds per game in Year 17, shooting 44.9% from the field on a Nuggets squad that advanced to the Western Conference Semifinals. Follow The Sporting News on WhatsApp Shortly after Denver's season-ending loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder in round No. 2, the nine-time All-Star declined his $7.9 million player option for 2025-26, allowing him to enter free agency. Advertisement The New York Knicks and Sacramento Kings were reportedly interested in signing Westbrook this summer. However, with New York opting to acquire a different backcourt energizer bunny (Jordan Clarkson) and Sacramento 'unlikely' to bring Westbrook onboard due to their inability to trade Malik Monk, there aren't many options left for the two-time scoring champion. With Westbrook accumulating jaw-dropping accolades through his career and solidifying himself as a future Hall of Fame guard years ago, it wouldn't be a bad idea for him to exit the NBA in his late 30s. It'll be interesting to see what the former lottery pick decides to do in the offseason. More NBA: Lakers agree to record-breaking seven-team trade after blockbuster Luka Doncic deal

LA Galaxy Teams Up With Heal the Bay, Goodr, and Freeway Insurance for Venice Beach Cleanup in Honor of Plastic Free July
Reinforcing its commitment to environmental stewardship, AEG's LA Galaxy partnered with Heal the Bay, Goodr, and Freeway Insurance to host a large-scale beach cleanup at Venice Beach in celebration of Plastic Free July. The initiative brought together over 100 volunteers who collected more than 40 pounds of waste, including plastic bottles, food wrappers, and other debris polluting the shoreline. The event underscores the Galaxy's broader mission to drive sustainability and community engagement beyond the pitch. Volunteers from all four organizations worked side by side to protect Southern California's iconic coastline and raise awareness about the global plastic pollution crisis. 'Plastic Free July is a great opportunity to rethink our habits and commit to sustainable choices,' said Gabriel Osollo, Director of Community Relations at the LA Galaxy. 'We're proud to stand alongside community partners like Heal the Bay, Goodr, and Freeway Insurance who share our mission to create a more sustainable future and inspire action in our community.' Plastic Free July is a global movement that challenges individuals and organizations to reduce their reliance on single-use plastics throughout the month—and beyond. The LA Galaxy's participation in this year's cleanup reflects the club's ongoing dedication to environmental stewardship and its role as a community leader in sustainability. The club along with its partners hope the event will inspire fans and residents to take small but meaningful steps—such as avoiding single-use plastics—that collectively contribute to a healthier planet.
