LOI preview: Bohemians seek consistency at struggling Sligo Rovers
Alan Reynolds' side have been seemingly allergic to draws with seven wins and seven defeats the main takeaways from their report card.
Most notably though, prior to this weekend's round of games, Bohs have scored more goals (4) after the 90-minute mark than any other club this season, highlighting their never-say-die attitude.
And even though tonight's opponents Sligo Rovers may sit rock bottom of the standings, the Bit o' Red are also a side that have tended to finish more strongly than they start games.
While five of Sligo's 19 goals have come before the half-hour mark, double that amount have been scored after the 60-minute mark, with half of those in the final 15 minutes.
So one might expect tonight at the Showgrounds to be one which sees both sides grow into the game the longer it goes on.
While Sligo did not find the net against Shamrock Rovers in their 2-0 defeat at Tallaght Stadium on Monday, the second half display did provide crumbs of comfort for manager John Russell.
"In the second half, we could have had two or three goals and we were very impressive going forward," he said.
"Again, we must improve defensively, everyone knows that and the players are working hard every day in training on that. We'll be without our two starting centre halves for Bohs but we've known that since Monday so we've been able to prepare to deal with that."
Captain and centre-back John Mahon is suspended for tonight after incurring ten yellow cards, while defender Ollie Denham and winger Oskar van Hattum are out after picking up knocks.
However, former Hibernian midfielder Jake Doyle-Hayes is back from a one-match ban but whether there is a recall for Connor Malley, who Russell dropped for the Shamrock Rovers match, will be interesting to see, with the manager having told the Irish Independent that "it's up to him to try and get back in the team".
Meanwhile, for Bohs, the challenge will be to find consistency at a time when their results have been pretty good.
The Sean Grehan-inspired comeback victory at Galway United on Monday had followed a loss by the same scoreline at home to a then-struggling Waterford three days earlier when they had been hoping to build on morale-boosting late wins over St Patrick's Athletic, Shamrock Rovers and Cork City.
"I've said before that there will be bumps on the road - Waterford was one of those - but the lads are giving absolutely everything of themselves to keep pushing standards on, to keep getting points on the board, and there is a belief there in what we are trying to do," said manager Reynolds.
Bohs will go to The Showgrounds without Leigh Kavanagh (hamstring) and Alex Lacey (hamstring), while Connor Parsons (hamstring) and Liam Smith (groin) are significant doubts for the 7.45pm kick-off.

Stephen Bradley praises attitude as he hails Shamrock Rovers players ‘best in the country' after Galway United draw
Stephen Bradley also claimed one of his players 'can play at a really high level' after a number of good performances STE STATEMENT Stephen Bradley praises attitude as he hails Shamrock Rovers players 'best in the country' after Galway United draw STEPHEN Bradley believes Matt Healy is one of the best midfielders in the League of Ireland. Former Ireland Under-21 international Healy was one of five who played in Shamrock Rovers' 1-0 loss to Kosovo outfit Ballkani last Thursday and against Galway on Sunday. Advertisement 2 The 40-year-old has a tough battle to stay in Europe ahead of him on Thursday 2 Shamrock Rovers are currently 10 points clear at the top of the table And the Cork man is set to keep his place in the team for Thursday's second leg against the Kosovans — despite the 0-0 draw against the Tribesmen. Rovers boss Bradley — who played in the centre of the park during his playing days — gushed: 'Matt is 22. Any midfielder will say it is hard to play there. Matt is playing every week and every minute for us.' Bradley also put his star man on a pedestal with Hoops talisman Graham Burke and Bohemians ace Dawson Devoy. Bradley added: 'For me, Matt, Graham Burke and Dawson Devoy have been the three best players in the country this year. Advertisement 'Matt has been getting better and better. He's working very hard off the pitch. He played 90 last Thursday and 90 on Sunday but his level didn't drop. 'He shows tremendous hunger to play the game and win a league which is what we want.' But Healy was not the only Hoops player to catch the eye in Sunday's stalemate. Keeper Ed McGinty helped secure his side a point with key saves — while teenager Michael Noonan, 17, impressed up top. Advertisement Bradley said: 'We needed Ed and we knew that Galway would go direct. 'Ed made some big saves and caught some good crosses. That's why we brought Ed to the club. He's a big player. He stands up in big moments. Arsenal make major change to Emirates stadium just days before new Premier League season 'We've worked really hard with Michael since he came in. We all know he can run and we all know he can score. 'It's about mixing up his game to help him. Michael has worked really hard himself. He's getting better and better. Advertisement 'You're talking about a player with a really high ceiling that can play at a really high level.' The draw means Rovers are now 10 points clear at the top of the table. And even though the point came against a Galway team who are winless in seven matches, Bradley hailed the Hoops' battling display. He explained: 'It was what we wanted from the players off the back of Thursday in terms of attitude and application. Advertisement 'We knew it would be difficult. You don't win anything in any league unless you can play every type of game. 'These players are the best in the country and have been for years. When the going gets tough, they're ready to stand up. 'After Thursday, it was tough, and the players stood up. That's why they're the best in the country.'

Patrick McClean's red card rescinded as Sligo Rovers win another appeal
Sligo Rovers have won a red card appeal for the second time in a week after Patrick McClean's controversial dismissal was wiped out by the FAI's appeals body today. McClean was sent off after a challenge on Mason Melia, in what appeared to be a decision based on stopping a clear goalscoring opportunity. The decision was met with bewilderment from McClean and his team-mates. The game was poised at 0-0 at the time of the red, which Pat's went on to win 3-0. Sligo boss John Russell rued the decision which he felt it turned the match on its head. He said: "It was never a red card. There was a covering defender." RTÉ Soccer analyst Alan Cawley described it as "one of the worst decisions I've ever seen". Sligo immediately appealed the red card and were successful this afternoon. A statement from the FAI read: "An Independent Appeal Committee of the FAI has upheld Sligo Rovers FC's appeal for wrongful dismissal following Patrick McClean's red card in Sligo Rovers FC's SSE Airtricity Men's Premier Division fixture versus St. Patrick's Athletic FC on 10 August "In accordance with the FAI Disciplinary Regulations, Patrick McClean will be available for Sligo Rovers FC's next SSE Airtricity Men's Premier Division fixture versus Waterford FC on 22 August." The Bit O' Red were also successful in their appeal over goalkeeper Sam Sargeant's red card against Shelbourne nine days ago when the goalkeeper was adjudged to have handled the ball outside of the penalty area. That was overturned last Monday. In the First Division, Treaty United also won an appeal over a red card in their 2-0 defeat Bray Wanderers last month.
