Of course, the 2025-26 season begins on October 21 on NBC when the Oklahoma City Thunder host the Houston Rockets. While this is a massive matchup to tip off the new season with the NBA's return to NBC, it is not the only new network that will broadcasting games next season as Amazon Prime will also show select games next season on their streaming service. Knicks among teams featured in Amazon Prime's NBA streaming debut On Wednesday, Amazon Prime made a massive announcement as they revealed that their first games will come on October 24. The two games featured to begin Amazon Prime's NBA era will feature the New York Knicks taking on the Boston Celtics along with the Minnesota Timberwolves facing off against the Los Angeles Lakers. This is massive news, especially for the Knicks, as they will host the first game ever streamed on Amazon Prime next season in an Eastern Conference showdown with the Celtics. For the Knicks, they are set to enter next season as one of the favorites to win the East due to their core of Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby and Josh Hart. New York also upgraded their bench this summer by signing Jordan Clarkson and Guerschon Yabusele in the free agency and they will also enter next season with a new head coach in Mike Brown after firing Tom Thibodeau to begin their offseason. While there has been a ton of change in New York, their core has stayed the same and they are looking to build off their impressive season last year that saw them reach the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000. Of course, they will have a tough test against Jaylen Brown and the Celtics to tip off Amazon Prime's NBA coverage as the Knicks try to start their season off strong as they chase a championship. The defending champion Thunder have 34 games on national TV (or streaming), tied with the Lakers, Warriors and Knicks for the most in the league. The Timberwolves and Rockets aren't too far behind, at 28 each, followed by the Nuggets (26), Celtics (25), Cavaliers (24) and Mavericks (23) to round out the top 10. No love for Indy: The Pacers, a year after reaching the NBA Finals, have just nine national games. Rude. (I know, I know… Tyrese Haliburton is out for the year. Still.) How to watch: The biggest change this season is that the league's massive new 11-year, $76 billion media deal kicks in, which could take some getting used to for fans conditioned to watching mostly on ESPN and TNT. Here's where you'll watch: NBC/Peacock: Sunday, Monday and Tuesday … The NBA returns to NBC for the first time in 24 years. Most importantly, that means "Roundball Rock" is returning! ESPN/ABC: Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday … No change here. ESPN still gets Wednesday and Friday nights, while ABC gets Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons. MVP Napheesa Collier, Lynx: Yes, she's missing some time right now with a sprained ankle; no, that shouldn't penalize her considering how fully she and her team dominated before the injury. Minnesota (27-5) has already clinched the playoffs and Collier leads the league in scoring with 23.5 points per game to go along with 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.6 blocks. Contender and dark horse: Dream guard Allisha Gray is averaging career-highs in points (19.0), rebounds (5.6) and assists (3.8); Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu is top five in scoring (19.3) and top 10 in assists (5.4). Add in some free food, and it's fair to say the vibes in Milwaukee have never been higher. Free burgers: The Brewers' 12th consecutive win on Wednesday triggered a free hamburger promotion from local restaurant chain George Webb for just the third time in nearly 80 years. Webb, who opened his first lunch counter in 1948, promised to give away free burgers if the Milwaukee Brewers — then a Triple-A team — won 17 straight games. When MLB's Boston Braves moved to Milwaukee in 1953, he reduced the requisite streak to 12. The Braves came and went without hitting the mark, but the Brewers — an expansion team that played one year as the Seattle Pilots before moving to Milwaukee in 1970 — did so in 1987 and 2018, earning fans more than 300,000 free burgers. This coming Wednesday it's all happening again, as fans will have four hours to claim their free sandwich at any of the 23 locations across Wisconsin. Blockbuster three-team trade idea swaps Knicks, Bucks All-Stars originally appeared on The Sporting News The NBA is known for some of the most absurd trades that can come out of nowhere. Look no further than February's stunner that sent Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers, to the horror of Dallas Mavericks fans. It leaves you wondering when the next blockbuster could come, and what teams it could involve. All eyes are currently on the Milwaukee Bucks, where one of the best players in the world, Giannis Antetokounmpo, has been involved in trade rumors since they lost in the first round to the eventual Eastern Conference champion Indiana Pacers. While there is currently no indication that the Bucks would trade their franchise cornerstone, this is the NBA, where anything is possible. A recent trade proposal from Sports Illustrated would shake things up around the association, to say the least, and it involves the Bucks, New York Knicks, and the New Orleans Pelicans. Bucks Acquire: Zion Williamson, Kelly Olynyk, Pacome Dadiet, Tyler Kolek, and five first-round picks Pelicans Acquire: Karl Anthony Towns Knicks Acquire: Giannis Antetokounmpo The headliner of this mock trade is obviously the Greek Freak to the Knicks, where he instantly creates a championship favorite in New York. A duo of Jalen Brunson and Antetokounmpo would strike fear in the rest of the Eastern Conference and possibly even the reigning champion Oklahoma City Thunder. The Pelicans can finally move on from their former No. 1 overall pick, Zion Williamson, who has flashed potential as a former All-Star but has been unable to consistently stay on the court throughout his career in New Orleans. Swapping him out for Towns, who has proven himself to be a star, makes them better and provides a building block to construct a playoff contender around. Milwaukee, meanwhile, which is still paying off its draft pick debts to the Portland Trail Blazers from the Damian Lillard trade, can get a kick start on its rebuild. Williamson is a wildcard, but if he can stay healthy, he has the potential to be a top-15 player in the league. Five first-round picks don't hurt either, and they can develop two youngsters with potential in former Knicks draft picks Dadiet and Kolek. If this deal were to become a reality, it would all hinge on Milwaukee's willingness to trade its former Finals MVP, and the Knicks, for certain, are holding out hope that they do.
