Health officer M Vijay Chandran said around 25% of the 3 lakh reward will be used for providing incentives to staff and remaining to improve the infrastructure of the UPHC.

In a year, over 5k women donate to human milk banks in Gujarat
Gandhinagar: As many as 5,537 mothers donated 5,036 litres of milk to human milk banks in the state in 2024-25, providing a new lease of life to 7,829 children, the state govt said on Tuesday. So far, 21,357 women donated milk to human milk banks, and this has benefitted 19,731 newborn children. According to Indian govt guidelines, comprehensive lactation management centres (CLMC) or human milk banks are operational in four medical college hospitals in Surat, Vadodara, Valsad, and Gandhinagar. The human milk bank at Gandhinagar, which was set up in 2021, saw 646 mothers donating milk that benefitted 694 children. So far, 183.18 litres of milk was collected in this bank.
