Packers waive injured rookie Jalen White to make room for addition at RB

The Green Bay Packers signed running back Tyrion Davis-Price before Tuesday's practice, and now we know the corresponding roster move: the team waived rookie running back Jalen White with an injury designation. White, an undrafted rookie out of Georgia Southern, injured his foot during the Packers' preseason loss to the New York Jets and wasn't available to practice Monday. The Packers are light on numbers at running back entering two big events this week and likely needed a healthy body at the position. Israel Abanikanda didn't practice Tuesday because of a new hamstring injury, while Emanuel Wilson (knee) and MarShawn Lloyd (groin) only just returned to practice in 11-on-11 periods on Tuesday. The Packers go to Indianapolis this week to have a joint practice and preseason game with the Colts. A two-time All-Sun Belt pick, White rushed for over 3,000 yards and scored 36 rushing touchdowns at Georgia Southern. He signed with the Packers following the 2025 NFL draft. A player who is waived with an injury designation reverts back to the team's injured reserve list if unclaimed on waivers. At that point, the Packers and White can determine if an injury settlement is the right option. Davis-Price gives the Packers an experienced running back who could handle snaps right away. A third-round pick of the San Francisco 49ers in 2022, Davis-Price has played in eight NFL regular season games. He spent last season with the Philadelphia Eagles and was with the Tennessee Titans earlier this offseason.

Connor Zilisch Has Surgery On Broken Collarbone, Return TBD

NASCAR Cup Series Connor Zilisch Has Surgery On Broken Collarbone, Return TBD Updated Aug. 12, 2025 3:20 p.m. ET share facebook x reddit link Trackhouse Racing driver Connor Zilisch had surgery Tuesday to repair a broken collarbone suffered in a fall Saturday while celebrating his victory at Watkins Glen. Zilisch, in a social media post, said he underwent the surgery so a plate and screws could be put in and help the healing process. The Xfinity Series points leader did not say when he might return to racing. The series is off this weekend and then has three regular-season races remaining at Daytona, Portland (road course) and World Wide Technology Raceway (commonly known as Gateway). Zilisch indicated on the "Door Bumper Clear" podcast that he was briefly knocked out after the fall, where he had one foot on the roof and one on the driver's side window sill, where he had not tucked the window net inside the car but was instead laying underneath his foot. "I was climbing out of the car and obviously the window net was on the door and as soon as they started spraying water, my foot slipped and the last thing I remember is being halfway done and falling," Zilisch said during the USA telecast of the Cup race Sunday. ADVERTISEMENT "I'm glad it wasn't any worse." All CT scans Saturday proved negative for any head injuries. Zilisch, who races for JR Motorsports in the series and leads teammate Justin Allgaier by 13 points in the standings, fell off his car when he lost his footing while trying to stand on his car following his sixth victory of the season. If he doesn't start a race, he would need a waiver to miss a race(s) and still be eligible for the playoffs. He also could possibly start a race and then have a stand-by driver replace him during the event — Zilisch would then get the points for wherever the replacement driver finishes. Zilisch, the No. 1 Cup prospect in a FOX Sports midseason prospect ranking released last week, is expected to race full time in the NASCAR Cup Series next year. Trackhouse has already announced that Daniel Suarez will not return and a Zilisch announcement is expected soon. Bob Pockrass covers NASCAR and INDYCAR for FOX Sports. White House to Hold UFC Fight on U.S.'s 250th Birthday

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will hold the first-ever professional mixed-martial arts fight at the White House during America's 250th birthday celebration next year. UFC CEO Dana White confirmed on Tuesday that the fight would take place on July 4, 2026, the 250th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. 'It is definitely going to happen,' he told the hosts of CBS Mornings. White said he already spoke with President Donald Trump, a long-time UFC fan and friend of the CEO, and will meet with Trump and his daughter Ivanka Trump later this month to continue planning the event. 'When he called me and asked me to do it, he said, 'I want Ivanka in the middle of this,'' White said of the President, on CBS Mornings. 'So Ivanka reached out to me, and her and I started talking about the possibilities, where it would be and, you know, I put together all the renderings.' Trump told his supporters at an event in Iowa last month that he wanted to have a UFC fight at the presidential residence. 'We're going to have a UFC fight, think of this, on the grounds of the White House. We have a lot of land there,' Trump said at the time. 'Dana's going to do it. Dana's great. One of a kind.' It is not yet clear which UFC fighters will participate in the showdown. White told The Associated Press Tuesday that it was too early to talk about the possible main event. Longtime UFC star Conor McGregor, who last fought in 2021 and visited the White House in March, expressed interest shortly after Trump spoke about a potential fight last month. 'I would be honoured! Count me in!' McGregor wrote on X. Since his last fight, McGregor was found liable for sexually assaulting a woman in a hotel room in 2018 in a civil case last year. Trump has attended UFC fights during both his first and second terms. In April, the President went to a fight in Miami with several members of his Administration, including then-head of the Department of Government Efficiency Elon Musk, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, FBI Director Kash Patel, and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The fight will be part of what the White House has said will be 'a full year of festivities' for the nation's 250th birthday. To plan the celebration, Trump formed a task force, called the 'Salute to America 250 Task Force.' 'Task Force 250 invites citizens to have a renewed love of American history, experience the beauty of our country, and ignite a spirit of adventure and innovation that will raise our nation to new heights over the next 250 years,' the website reads.
