Fanatics President of Trading Cards David Leiner
With players from all 20 Premier League clubs featured in the collection and more genuine player autograph cards s than ever before, Leiner relished the collection's ability to provide something for every collector.
'[The feedback has] been great. The product screams Premier League. There's so many different hooks in the product and different ways to collect,' he enthused.
Fanatics President of Trading Cards David Leiner was delighted to see the reaction from fans as the Topps Premier League 2026 collection launched at their flagship London store on Regent Street on Thursday. (Image: Topps) 'This is our most broadly distributed Premier League product so we want fans of all ages, income levels, everywhere [to access it]. There's so many fun collecting journeys to be had.
'Whether you want to go on a high-end journey and chase some of the big hits or you want to collect your favourite club and gather up all the players, chase some of the fun insert parts we have in there, there are so many different ways to collect. It's a beautiful product.'
For Leiner, who is a collectibles enthusiast himself, that journey will most likely start with an ambition to go back to traditional ways and complete a set.
'I'm a little old school and I'm a set collector, so I still love building the sets, chasing all the players. That's what I'm going to do,' he explained.
'I really like when you take the base set and chase those rare parallels, so I'm going to have to go chase after a few guys.
'I've got my eye on a few Chelsea players. There's some young guys that are interesting, so I'll see where my collecting journey takes me.'
Fanatics, who acquired the Topps name in January 2022, won back the Premier League rights for the upcoming season and have left no stone unturned in ensuring their collectibles are a hit product.
The all-new Topps Premier League 2026 collection is a stand-alone range outside of Match Attax and boasts an extensive parallel programme with 15 colour variations across unnumbered and numbered parallels.
And fans can also expect further surprises to come throughout the season.
'We are really excited to get the Premier League rights,' said Leiner. 'We had been a partner of the Premier League in the past, we were the original partner of the Premier League when it formed in the early 90s, and now the rights are back home where they belong.
'I couldn't be more delighted to see the rights back with us. We're going to delight fans and collectors with a bunch of products all throughout the season, but this is the first one.
'When you talk about domestic league football, you have some of the biggest clubs in the world and you have the best players. This is incredibly important to us, incredibly important to fans of the UK, but also all over the world.'
Alongside Shearer, Gerrard and Ferdinand there was also a host of other legends in the Fanatics London store like Theo Walcott, Jermaine Defoe and Joleon Lescott.
As avid collector and current Premier League and Chelsea star Tosin Adarabioyo also made an appearance, it is clear Topps are engaging players and fans at all levels of the game in their collecting journey.
'A big belief we have is if the athletes are going to care about the cards, then the collectors and fans are going to care,' explained Leiner.
'When they see their favourite athletes collecting, that's going to further their interest and really help us further develop the category. That's been very important.
'We continue to market the category like it's never been marketed before. Having a flagship store like this in London is a big marketing vehicle for us, but it's also a big educational vehicle, and it's a big community building vehicle.
'We sell products and that's important, but community is what this is really all about.'
Marking the launch of the Topps Premier League 2025-26 collection were football icons Alan Shearer, Steven Gerrard, and Rio Ferdinand, joined by Jermaine Defoe, Joleon Lescott, Theo Walcott and Tosin Adarabioyo, alongside Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin in a star-studded celebration.

Crystal Palace want £40m Liverpool star as Marc Guehi swap 'not ruled out'
Liverpool are in talks to sign Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi and have been made aware of the possibility of sending Harvey Elliott in the opposite direction Liverpool may be able to use Harvey Elliott in a swap deal with Crystal Palace to land Marc Guehi. The Reds opened talks earlier this week to sign Palace captain Guehi in the summer transfer window and have been made aware of the possibility of a double deal. Arne Slot is desperate to bolster his defence after Liverpool leaked a lot of goals in pre-season and the club are working to sign Guehi and Parma defender Giovanni Leoni. Guehi has entered the final year of his Palace contract and looks poised to leave for the defending Premier League champions. The Reds are hopeful of signing the England international for a fee of around £30million to £35m, while Palace are holding out for £40m. Negotiations have now been complicated by Palace's interest in Elliott, who is hoping to leave Liverpool in pursuit of regular minutes. Elliott played 53 times for Slot's side last season as they won the title, but was generally used off the substitutes' bench, starting just twice in the Premier League. He made it clear early in the summer transfer window that he would explore his options after growing frustrated with his situation. The Sun reports that Palace are keen on the 22-year-old as they consider replacements for Eberechi Eze. The club's star playmaker is being eyed by Tottenham and Arsenal and Palace know they may be forced to sell after being denied entry to the Europa League. Spurs are ready to launch a bid for Eze and believe they can sign him ahead of Arsenal, who need to sell players before they can bid. The situation has created a chain of connected transfers. Liverpool value Elliott at £40m because the midfielder has two years left on his contract. They are happy to sell him as Slot understands his desire to play more regularly as he aims for a place in the England squad for the 2026 World Cup. Eze has a £68m release clause written into his contract with the Eagles but it is set to expire on Friday. Spurs, who have lost James Maddison to an ACL injury, are not expected to trigger the clause and instead hope to sign the midfielder for below £68m. Speaking after Palace's Community Shield win over Liverpool, Palace chairman Steve Parrish said: 'Players come and go in football clubs, you know, I mean, it's a life cycle isn't it? Hopefully they're still here. That's what I'd like but we'll see.' Elliott has also been linked with RB Leipzig, who could use him to replace Chelsea-bound Xavi Simons. Brighton and West Ham have also considered a bid for Elliott, but a move is yet to materialise.

Wayne Rooney makes bold Man United prediction for new Premier League season - and picks SHOCK star to be the most important signing
Wayne Rooney has given his predictions for the new Premier League season - and backed Manchester United to impress. Red Devils legend Rooney, 39, is set to be more involved in the top flight in 2025-26 in a punditry role after he signed a £800,000-a-year deal to regularly appear on Match of the Day. And, ahead of the new campaign beginning on Friday when Liverpool host Bournemouth, the 39-year-old was questioned on his thoughts. Rooney picked Liverpool as his champions, and chose Arsenal, Man City and Chelsea to make up the top four. But it was his shout for fifth place that made headlines, with the former striker choosing United despite their struggles last season. Ruben Amorim 's side endured their worst-ever Premier League campaign in 2024-25, finishing 15th after 18 defeats in 38 games. They have since signed Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko, while they went unbeaten throughout pre-season. Explaining his feelings, Rooney told the BBC: 'I think they still need one or two more signings but I can see what Amorim is doing. 'It's looking better for Man United and I think they will sneak into the top five. I hope they do and you never know.' Elsewhere, despite his United history, Rooney appeared to be favourable towards their arch-rivals Liverpool. Alongside naming the Reds as his choice for the title, Rooney backed Mohamed Salah to win the fifth Golden Boot of his career. Similarly, when asked for who he felt would be the most important signing in the league, he named new Liverpool right back Jeremie Frimpong. The Netherlands international, who was part of Man City's academy as a youngster, joined the Reds from Bayer Leverkusen for £35million this summer, with the full back tasked with helping to fill the void left by Trent Alexander-Arnold's departure to Real Madrid. Elsewhere, it was also in his breakout star prediction where the Liverpool trend was seen. Rooney tipped Reds wonderkid Rio Ngumoha, 16, in this regard, with the talented forward having moved to Anfield from Chelsea at the age of 15 last summer. He was named on the bench for Liverpool's defeat by Crystal Palace in the Community Shield on Sunday, but he has played just one senior game for Arne Slot's side. The final prediction Rooney gave was on which promoted team would perform the best out of Leeds, Burnley and Sunderland. The 39-year-old backed Leeds, who have strengthened significantly this summer, to top the lot.

That was despite Ruben Amorim's side not being able to offer Champions League football, unlike the Magpies who qualified via a 5th-place finish in the league last season. However, Sesko's switch to England has also left Barcelona feeling "hurt", according to Sport. The report says the Camp Nou outfit were keen on a move for the pacy Slovenian, after heavy analysis work being done on him by Deco, the club's sporting director. The Pole has one year left on his contract with an option to extend, though early reports suggest he will call it quits from the Camp Nou outfit next summer. Barca were aware of Sesko's availability, but did not have the financial capability to make a move this summer, as shown by the cash-strapped club gutting their successful women's team - who will have just 17 players going into the new season - to try and balance the books. The movement of other strikers in the market, including Hugo Ekitike to Liverpool and Viktor Gyokeres to Arsenal, also informed their decision to push for Sesko.
