
UTAS-Al Mussanah Honours Graduates and On-the-Job Training Partners
During the ceremony, 20 institutions from the public and private sectors were honored for their contributions to the success of the OJT program and for providing students with real-world training opportunities.
Special recognition was given to the Royal Navy of Oman, which accommodated over 100 student trainees across the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 academic years, making it one of the program's most active partners.
The event also featured the Second Graduates Gathering, dedicated this year to university graduates currently employed at the Al Mussanah branch. The gathering fostered a warm and engaging environment filled with entertainment, and graduates -led activities that encouraged connection among attendees.
In her remarks, Dr. Munia Al-Farsi praised the efforts of the partner institutions and emphasized the importance of strengthening ties with the labor market to enhance student capabilities and better align their professional readiness with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of commemorative plaques and certificates of appreciation to the honored institutions, reaffirming the university's commitment to deepening partnerships and evolving its training and employment programs in line with national aspirations.

According to the latest data, Oman's non-oil exports reached RO 1.618 billion in the first quarter of 2025, an increase of 8.6% compared to the same period in 2024. By the end of last year, exports stood at RO 23 billion, marking a 10% growth from 2023. This positive trend continued into 2025, with exports valued at RO 10.683 billion by mid-year. Business leaders, government officials, and logistics experts gathered to discuss how ports and maritime shipping can unlock greater opportunities for national exports. North Al Batinah itself reported remarkable progress, with exports climbing to RO 676 million , a 37% increase while container traffic through Sohar Port grew by 15% in 2024. The forum in North Al Batinah was notable not only for its high-level discussions but also for the strong turnout of entrepreneurs, business owners, and representatives of various companies and institutions. Their presence reflected a growing awareness within the community about the importance of exports and logistics in strengthening the national economy. RNO commences process to recruit officer cadets
Muscat: The Royal Navy of Oman (RNO), in coordination with the Ministry of Labour, has begun the assessment and admission procedures for Omani citizens to join military service as officer cadets (university graduates - executives). Applicants will undergo several assessment stages according to the RNO's recruitment procedures, leading to the final admission stages. The RNO is leveraging its administrative and technical capabilities to facilitate the procedures for joining military service and enlisting in the fields of honor and national duty. These strenuous efforts by the Ministry of Defense and the Sultan's Armed Forces to employ Omani citizens are in line with the plans and programs established to recruit citizens and provide the branches of the Sultan's Armed Forces and other departments within the Ministry of Defence with national manpower.

Sohar: The North Al Batinah branch of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday organised an extensive meeting on the role of ports and maritime shipping in promoting national exports. In his speech, Eng. Said Ali Al Abri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry's North Al Batinah branch, highlighted the importance of the maritime shipping sector in enhancing the access of national exports to global markets. He explained that the North Al Batinah Governorate is a promising strategic hub due to its distinguished logistical location, making it a key center for developing supply chains and supporting export movement. He emphasised that the current meeting aims to shed light on the available opportunities in the sector, discuss the most prominent challenges, and explore possible solutions with the participation of various concerned parties, ensuring the development of an integrated shipping environment that supports the growth of the national economy. The meeting included a discussion session on the role of Sohar Port and Freezone in promoting national exports and the efficiency of operations related to shipping, handling, and customs clearance. It also addressed operational and regulatory challenges in supply chains and presented proposed solutions to enhance integration between government entities and operators, as well as stimulating investment in the logistics sector through qualitative incentives that capitalize on the port's geographical and logistical advantages. The meeting, attended by Eng.
