Catriona Rowntree has shared a devastating personal tragedy.
The veteran presenter, 54, farewelled her close friend, Ruth Irving, owner of the stunning Al Ru Farm wedding venue in Adelaide, after her death at the age of 71.
In an emotional post shared to Instagram, Catriona wrote: 'My heart is sore, as I pay tribute to my beautiful friend Ruth Irving, who recently passed away.
'I met Ruth on a Getaway story many moons ago, filming the incredible garden Ruth created alongside her husband Alan, from a sheep paddock with a few trees, into one of Australia's most successful wedding venues.'
She went on: 'That will continue, as will her legacy of sharing her encyclopaedic knowledge of plants and entertaining. How blessed to have known this woman who lived such a big, adventurous, beautiful life.
'I miss you so much Ruth, your touch is everywhere around my home and I'm so grateful to have had you as my friend.'
Ruth, a keen gardener, is survived by her beloved husband Alan, her stepchildren, Robyn, Leschele, Yolande, and Cromwell, and many grandchildren.
'Ruth led a colourful life with travel and family,' her obituary reads.
'An antique dealer and exceptional gardener with a flair for design, an inspiration to many creating a space at AL RU Farm for many to enjoy as a wedding venue and open gardens.'
It comes after happier news for Catriona, who earlier this year paid a sweet tribute to her husband James Pettit as the couple marked 17 years of marriage.
She took to Instagram to mark the auspicious occasion with a series of cute throwback photos.
The romantic carousel showed the couple at various stages over their 17 years together.
'#happyanniversary #firstdate #inshock 17 years today #love,' Catriona captioned the romantic images, augmenting the sentiment with a love heart emoji.
Catriona and James have been married since 2008 and share two sons, Andrew, 14, and Charles, 12.

Speaking to 9Entertainment in 2023, Catriona revealed how she met her 'farmer hubby' James.
'A lot of people ask, how did you even meet him, let alone marry him,' she told the publication.
'My best friend gives me a call and she says, 'Catriona, I've met the one. His friend is having a birthday party for him and I want you to come''
Catriona added that her heart fluttered the first time she saw her beau at the party which was held on a huge Victorian farm.
'I turn up looking amazing,' she said.
'Then out onto the verandah comes this guy and he's got the dirt across the face, he's got the hair going everywhere.
'I've never seen anything like him in my life... and I just nudged my girlfriend and went, 'I approve''.

Parker Posey and Jason Isaacs prepared for their roles in the third season of The White Lotus by watching the reality series Southern Charm. The actors, who portrayed Victoria and Timothy Ratliff, utilized the show to help them develop their Southern accents for the HBO series. Posey, originally from the South, incorporated a blend of accents and cadences she encountered growing up into her performance. She noted that her co-star, Isaacs, possesses a keen ear for dialects, which aided his portrayal. Both Posey and Isaacs garnered Emmy nominations for their work on the hit HBO show. Character actors: Australia's children celebrate 80 years of Book Week

Australia's Children's Book Week is celebrating its 80th year in style, with children donning their best costumes for the traditional parade in schools across the country this week. The event is being held from 16-23 August this year and has the theme 'Book an Adventure'. It is run by the Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA), which has been promoting literacy and reading for children since the end of the second world war. Book Week began in 1945 when a group of women wanted to raise the profile of Australian children's literature, according to the CBCA's Jo Panckridge. 'These ladies, way back in the 1940s, started working to encourage authors and illustrators to write books that would resonate with Australian children,' Panckridge said. 'We'd had so many English books up until then coming into Australia so they felt that children needed to know a little bit more about their country, their culture and the things that resonated with them.' But Book Week has a special importance in the 21st century: in 2023, the Australian Bureau of Statistics found 76% of children aged between five and eight read for pleasure but just 63% of those aged 12 to 14 did the same. 'Book Week is a celebration of the best Australian literature, it's a celebration of reading, a celebration of the joy of being able to read in this country and to encourage and advocate reading for pleasure and reading books to children,' Panckridge said. 'Book an Adventure' was chosen as the theme this year because 'with books, a reader can venture anywhere at anytime and can meet any number of people from the past to the future and the present without ever leaving their bedroom', Panckridge said.

Zoe Ball reveals her wild wedding to Fatboy Slim led to a very famous guest breaking his nose

Zoe Ball has revealed that her wild wedding to Fatboy Slim led to a famous guest breaking his nose. The Radio 2 DJ, 54, and the star, also known as Norman Cook split in 2016 after 18 years of marriage but have remained close friends and co-parents to their children Woody, 24, and Nelly, 15. And during their wedding in August 1999, Zoe revealed that actor Steve Coogan broke his nose after a few too many drinks. Speaking on her podcast Dig It, the radio star also confessed that another guest, a radio producer named Will, fell in a river. Her show co-host, Jo Whiley recalled: 'He fell in the stream at our house once when we had a party. Oh no, was it your wedding?' Zoe corrected her: 'No, it was my wedding. It was our wedding.' Jo continued: 'We had to fish him out of the lake.' And recalling another water-based catastrophe from the bash, Zoe said: 'The venue where we got married, there was a swimming pool that Steve Coogan jumped in and broke his nose. 'Never swim when you have been drinking, people. That is the lesson here. 'And then Will somehow had managed to walk into the lake and appeared in the bar, just covered in pond weed.' Zoe has now been sober for the best part of a decade, while Steve, said in 2022 that he had stopped drinking earlier that year. Norman and Zoe's son Woody Cook recently revealed how h is parents have been 'gardening' and 'doing puzzles' and working in a local cafe since Zoe quit her six-figure radio job. Radio presenter Zoe stepped down from her BBC Radio 2 breakfast show in December to 'focus on her family', bidding farewell to her lucrative £950,000 salary. Her departure came after an extended break earlier in the year when her mother Julia died from cancer, and she enjoyed some time off with her family before returning to airwaves in March. Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, her son Woody, 24, gave an insight into how she has been spending her time since quitting her job, focusing on 'gardening' and 'doing puzzles'. He admitted it has been 'funny' watching his 'crazy party' parents Zoe and Norman ditching wild nights out for more calm hobbies. 'In the last five years, it's been funny watching my parents take up gardening both of them,' Woody - who was promoting his Specsavers partnership - shared. 'These crazy party people I grew up with are now gardening, making puzzles and working in the local café. 'It's very funny to see that transitional period, just as I'm kind of leaving the nest and now at the start of something big for me in music.' Fatboy Slim has owned the Big Beach Cafe in Hove, East Sussex since 2013. Zoe and Norman were known for their hard-partying ways back in the 2000s and have both since spoken about their battles with alcohol. They tied the knot in 1999 and welcomed their son Woody and a daughter Nelly, 15, together before they split up in 2016, though they remain very close friends.
