Report – Inter Milan Will Only Sign Chelsea Flop As A Last Resort
This according to today's print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that the Frenchman's wages would be a major potential issue.
Inter Milan are reeling after Atalanta rejected their second offer for forward Ademola Lookman.
The Nerazzurri's pursuit of the Nigerian international is not exactly dead in the water. Particularly if the player is to really kick up a fuss to try and force through the transfer.
However, with Atalanta's firm stance, Inter know that they need a Plan B.
Inter Will Only Sign Chelsea Forward Christopher Nkunku As Last Resort

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, one such Plan B could be Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku.
The Nerazzurri have been aware of the opportunity to sign the 27-year-old former RB Leipzig forward for some time. He is a player Chelsea are desperate to sell this summer.
Nkunku would cost a fee of around €40 million. That is certainly attainable for Inter. After all, it is what they initially bid for Nkunku.
However, reports the Gazzetta, Inter are not just going to move on to Nkunku after Atalanta's rejection of their second bid for Lookman.
In particularly, the Frenchman's wages would be an issue.
Nkunku earns €6.5 million net per season at Chelsea. By contrast, Inter have agreed personal terms with Lookman worth €4.5 million net per season.
Therefore, reports the Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter will continue to wait. They're only going to move for Nkunku if they run out of options.

No Offers Yet For Parma Teenage Sensation Despite Inter Milan & Premier League Interest
Parma have not received any offers for Giovanni Leoni despite interest from Inter Milan and the Premier League. This via FCInterNews. The 19-year-old is a target for several clubs, but not yet the subject of any negotiations. Parma defender Giovanni Leoni is right at the top of Inter's list of targets at the back. The Nerazzurri are fully convinced that the teenager is the right player for the future of their defense. Inter had missed out on Leoni's signature last summer. However, they are more determined to sign him than ever now, particularly considering the Parma connection with coach Cristian Chivu. Then, Liverpool have also sounded out a move for Leoni. In the meantime, though, Parma have not received any offers for the teenage defender. The Emilian club are anticipating the possibility of losing their young star. However, as of yet, no formal bids have come in for Giovanni Leoni.

Exclusive: Sources close to Alisson open up on Liverpool future
Becker has been linked with a move away from Liverpool this summer and sources close to the player have opened up on his future. The Brazilian has been the Reds no.1 ever since he arrived in the summer of 2018. In that time, he's played close to 300 games (298 in total) for the club. This summer though he's about to embark on his toughest challenge yet. With the departure of Caoimhin Kelleher to Brentford, Liverpool have brought in Giorgi Mamardashvili, who is expected to push Alisson for the no.1 spot. Mamardashvili has made it clear he wants to oust the Brazilian from being Liverpool's first choice and that he has not joined the Reds to sit on the bench. Eight years younger than Alisson, it's clear that Mamardashvili represents the future of the club. Alongside him, Liverpool have also brought in Armin Pecsi, who they view as a future no.1 goalkeeper as well. 🔴 Shop the LFC 2025/26 adidas away range from 9am TODAY There's Freddie Wooman to contend with as well, who Liverpool brought in on a free transfer this summer. The 28-year-old has a lot of experience under his belt and has been a first choice goalkeeper at Championship level for several years now. So, it's fair to say this is probably the best group of goalkeepers Alisson has had to contend with in his Liverpool career so far. That's obviously not going to be a problem for the best goalkeeper in the world. Alisson is still only 32-years-old and in the prime of his years. More challengers for his spot could only push him to elevate his level further. As will working with renowned goalkeeping coach Xavi Valero, who returned to Anfield this summer. Nonetheless, despite this notion, there have been some speculation over Alisson's future.

'England should consider Brook when Stokes is out'
England should consider making Harry Brook captain if Ben Stokes suffers further time on the sidelines, according to former skipper Michael Vaughan. All-rounder Stokes is missing the final Test against India at The Oval because of a shoulder injury, with vice-captain Ollie Pope deputising. The 34-year-old's recovery is likely to take around eight weeks, before the Ashes series in Australia beginning in November. Yorkshire's Brook became England's white-ball captain earlier this year, winning his first series in full-time charge against West Indies. "Harry Brook, to me, looks a leader. He looks a born leader," Vaughan told the Test Match Special podcast. "If Ben Stokes is injured in the future can't Pope stay as vice-captain and Harry Brook gets the leadership role?" Crawley falls late as India take upper hand 'England chasing history after backing themselves into a corner' Vaughan is regarded as one of the finest captains to have led England, masterminding the famous 2005 Ashes series win. He won 26 of his 51 Tests in charge between 2003 and 2008. He added: "I look at someone like Ollie Pope, who looks a fantastic vice-captain. He is brilliant person to have next to the captain to come up with ideas. Sometimes vice-captains aren't brilliant captains. "Marcus Trescothick was a magnificent vice-captain for me but you wouldn't to give him the captaincy." Pope, 27, is leading England in a Test for the fifth time. He previously stood in when Stokes had a hamstring injury last year. Under Pope, the home side face an uphill task to win the decisive fifth Test. After being set 374 to beat India, a target that would represent their second-highest successful chase in a Test, they closed the third day on 50-1. On Saturday, without the injured Chris Woakes, England were left relying on trio of seamers Gus Atkinson, Josh Tongue and Jamie Overton. Though they were eventually able to dismiss India for 396 in their second innings, England were hampered by six dropped catches. "It is not Ollie Pope's fault England are in this position. It is the dropped catches," said Vaughan. "There were a couple of times he nipped off the field, it might have been for a comfort break, but it looked like he was going off for tactical advice. "I don't know well enough and am not in the dressing room. I just want the best captain who is the best leader leading the England side. I don't think a good vice-captain will necessarily be a good captain." England's highest run chase of 378 came against India three years ago at Edgbaston. They also successfully overhauled 371 against the same opponents to win the first Test of this series at Headingley. "We're pretty chilled," said Tongue. "There won't be any over-thinking about it. "I got asked the same question at Headingley. I don't see why we can't chase down these runs. "How we play is very positive and exciting. With the batting line-up we've got, I can't see why we can't give it a good go." Get cricket news sent straight to your phone
