Antonio Brown Wanted on Attempted Murder Charge, Per Report

Antonio Brown Wanted on Attempted Murder Charge, Per Report originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Police are seeking to arrest former NFL superstar Antonio Brown on a charge of attempted murder, according to a warrant issued by law enforcement officials in Florida. Advertisement The charge of "attempted murder with a firearm'' in the warrant, according to The Washington Post, is the result of a shooting that Brown was allegedly involved in during a celebrity boxing event in Miami last month. The warrant instructs Brown to post a $10,000 bond and to remain on house arrest until trial. Brown's account of the incident, which happened in Miami's Little Haiti neighborhood on May 16, notes that he was "jumped by multiple individuals who tried to steal my jewelry and cause physical harm to me. Contrary to some video circulating, Police temporarily detained me until they received my side of the story and then released me.'' Brown was detained at that time by police after gunshots were supposedly fired at the boxing event, which was hosted by online streamer Adin Ross. Advertisement But now, according to the warrant, witnesses have told told police officers that Brown was the shooter, and that two shell casings were found at the scene. One man involved in the conflict alleges that Brown "began to run toward him with a firearm" and shot at him twice. This trouble marks the latest in an unfortunate string of incidents tying Brown, 36, to legal and behavioral issues. The four-time All-Pro and seven-time Pro Bowler spend nine years with the Pittsburgh Steelers before a 2019 trade to the Raiders, who quickly released him after a series of conflicts and he never played a game for his new team. Brown was then signed by the New England Patriots but played just one game before he was cut again amid allegations of sexual assault. Brown played two seasons for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after signing with them in October 2020 and helping the Tom Brady-led team win a Super Bowl. But that time ended when he stripped off part of his uniform and marched off the field during a game in 2021, after which Tampa Bay cut him.
