TAYLOR, Texas (FOX 44) – SPJST is hosting District 2 Rally on Sunday, June 22, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The event will take place at Beyersville Hall at SPJST Lodge 48, located at 10450 FM-619.
The free event is open to the public, and promises good food, fun and fellowship for all ages. SPJST says there will be contests, games, prize drawings, and a community service project to benefit the local communities.
Guests will enjoy refreshments, displays, and youth and family-friendly activities like a craft station, cornhole, games, and more! SPJST District 2 Director Jesse Pospisil says these district rallies are a new way of connecting with the community, and to collaborate with non-members for a cause which benefits the community.
A key highlight of the event is the SPJST Gives Service Project, which supports the Taylor Animal Shelter. SPJST Communications Director Melanie Zavodny says community members can collect physical and monetary donations.
SPJST says the Show & Share contest features a Silent Cookie Auction and a Photography Display contest. Guests and SPJST members are encouraged to bring one dozen cookies with an attached recipe for the auction!
Guests and members are welcome to bid freely until the auction's close at 3:15 p.m. The Photography Display submissions are of photos 8×10 inches or 8.5×11 inches featuring the theme 'SPJST'. All donations and proceeds support the Taylor Animal Shelter. Physical donations include clumping litter, cat or dog toys, kitten milk replacer, and dry or canned cat or dog food.
According to SPJST, gift cards are awarded in both categories, with separate youth and adult divisions. These are not judged contests, but a way to express creativity. Everyone who participates in the contests will be entered into a drawing to win.
All SPJST members in attendance are eligible for the grand prize drawings, including a Ninja Air Fryer, Samsung Galaxy Tablet, dinner for four at Texas Roadhouse, and more! Guests are welcome, and will be entered into a separate drawing.
Admission is free, but SPJST says it appreciates reservations to help organizers prepare. To RSVP and to learn more, you can visit www.spjst.org/districtrallies.
