Before we get to today's Connections hints and answers, here are Monday's:
Hey there, Connectors! I hope your week is off to a wonderful start.
I'm counting down the days until my building's pool is open again and I can take a daily dip. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy my rowing machine (and being able to watch TV and films as I get in a little workout). But nothing quite beats a swim on a hot day. It's refreshing and it's exercise! A terrific combination.
Before we begin, we have a great little community on Discord, where we chat about NYT Connections, the rest of the NYT games and all kinds of other stuff. Everyone who has joined has been lovely. It's a fun hangout spot, and you're more than welcome to hang out with us.
Discord is also the best way to give me any feedback about the column, especially on the rare (or not-so-rare) occasions that I mess something up. I don't look at the comments or Twitter much. You can also read my weekend editions of this column at my new newsletter, Pastimes.
Today's NYT Connections hints and answers for Tuesday, May 13 are coming right up.
Connections is a free, popular New York Times daily word game. You get a new puzzle at midnight every day. You can play on the NYT's website or Games app.

You're presented with a grid of 16 words. Your task is to arrange them into four groups of four by figuring out the links between them. The groups could be things like items you can click, names for research study participants or words preceded by a body part.
There's only one solution for each puzzle, and you'll need to be careful when it comes to words that might fit into more than one category. You can shuffle the words to perhaps help you see links between them.
Each group is color coded. The yellow group is usually the easiest to figure out, blue and green fall in the middle, and the purple group is usually the most difficult one. The purple group often involves wordplay.
Select four words you think go together and press Submit. If you make a guess and you're incorrect, you'll lose a life. If you're close to having a correct group, you might see a message telling you that you're one word away from getting it right, but you'll still need to figure out which one to swap.
If you make four mistakes, it's game over. Let's make sure that doesn't happen with the help of some hints, and, if you're really struggling, today's Connections answers. As with Wordle and other similar games, it's easy to share results with your friends on social media and group chats.
If you have an NYT All Access or Games subscription, you can access the publication's Connections archive. This includes every previous game of Connections, so you can go back and play any of those that you have missed.
Aside from the first 60 games or so, you should be able to find my hints via Google if you need them! Just click here and add the date of the game for which you need clues or the answers to the search query.

A regular rainbow for me today as my streak moves up to 77 wins in a row. Here's how I fared:
🟨🟨🟨🟨
🟩🟩🟩🟩
🟦🟦🟦🟦
🟪🟪🟪🟪
So many words with double vowels today! I wondered if there might be something going on with those but that turned out not to be the case.
BAZAAR and MARKET made the yellows fairly clear. I was a little hesitant about including FAIR at first, but the risk paid off.
After that, I felt that HAWAIIAN and VEGGIE were solid entry points into the greens. That took care of the second group of the day. Did you know that the HAWAIIAN pizza was invented in Canada?
I spent a few minutes looking at the last eight words on the grind and in particular INFRARED. Once my eyes moved toward MARIGOLD, the blues were very clear.
That left the purples for the win and, yeah, I did figure those out before submitting them. Not a very difficult game today! I look forward to dealing with a Lynchian nightmare of a grid tomorrow.
That's all there is to it for today's Connections clues and answers. Be sure to check my blog tomorrow for hints and the solution for Wednesday's game if you need them.
P.S. It's always fun when the YouTube algorithm offers up a band I've never heard of before and the song turns out to be a cracker. Such was the case with this one by a indie rock band from Minnesota called Durry. I love the production on "idk i just work here." The song title's pretty darn funny too:
The brother-and-sister duo first came to prominence a few years ago when a song of theirs called "Who's Laughing Now" popped off on TikTok. That song's very good as well, so let's double up on today's recommendations:
Have a great day! Stay hydrated! Call someone you love!

Streamers Cash Nasty And Tylil Brought To Tears After Meeting LeBron James Thanks To Kai Cenat

Streamers Cash Nasty And Tylil Brought To Tears After Meeting LeBron James Thanks To Kai Cenat originally appeared on Fadeaway World. In one of the most wholesome moments the streaming world has seen in 2025, streamers CashNasty and Tylil were brought to tears after meeting their childhood idol, LeBron James, a dream made possible by none other than Kai Cenat. The emotional meeting took place just before Fanatics Fest 2025, where LeBron was scheduled to appear alongside other sports icons like Tom Brady, Victor Wembanyama, and Maverick Carter. The NBA legend was also slated to make a surprise appearance on Kai Cenat's Twitch stream, an announcement that had already sent fans into a frenzy. But what followed before the cameras even rolled would end up being one of the most memorable moments of the event. Kai Cenat, known for hosting massive names on his stream from Kevin Hart to John Cena was already mingling behind the scenes when he, CashNasty, and Tylil spotted LeBron James from a distance. Standing beside him was his mother, Gloria James, and longtime agent Rich Paul, who had previously appeared on Kai's stream. That's when Kai and his fellow streamers decided to shoot their shot. Kai Cenat talked to Rich Paul and asked if they could meet LeBron personally. Without hesitation, Rich gave them the green light and led them straight to the King himself. First, Kai was introduced, and soon after, he brought forward his visibly starstruck friends, CashNasty and Tylil, to meet LeBron. For the two streamers, who have been lifelong fans of James, the moment was surreal. They were ecstatic, shaking hands, hugging, and dapping up the four-time NBA champion. They chatted with him, laughed, and even managed to get autographs something both of them said they would treasure forever. After the emotional high of the encounter, the trio made their way backstage. That's when it hit. Both Cash and Tylil were overwhelmed with emotion, breaking down into tears. For two fans who had grown up watching LeBron dominate the league and change the game, finally meeting him in person and having a genuine interaction was a full-circle moment. And they had Kai Cenat to thank. The moment quickly began circulating across social media, with fans praising Kai for not only making the dream happen but also for handling it with sincerity and class. It showed another side to the streaming world, one of real, raw emotion and shared joy. With over 18 million Twitch followers and counting, Kai Cenat continues to redefine the possibilities of content creation. And by helping two of his fellow streamers meet their hero, he reminded the world what fanhood and friendship are all story was originally reported by Fadeaway World on Jun 21, 2025, where it first appeared.

Allison Holker Was an ‘Almond Mom' to Daughter Weslie, 17, Throughout Her Childhood: ‘Extreme'

Allison Holker's eldest daughter, Weslie, is getting real about the 'strict' lessons her mom used to impose when it came to eating. 'My entire growing up — I say this to her all the time now — [but] she was so almond mom,' Weslie, 17, said on the Sunday, June 22, episode of their 'Between Us' podcast. 'She was like, 'You have to eat greens [and have] chicken every night.'' While Holker, 37, was unsure about the origins of the slang term 'almond mom,' she does concur that she acted that way when it came to food. 'I definitely was one with Weslie. I was very strict,' Holker said. 'I was cooking all of the time, and her lunches for school were all the organic versions of everything. Like, there were no processed snacks. Everything was, like, different types of nuts [and] I had a lot of dried fruit options.' Allison Holker Admits She and Daughter Weslie, 16, Have Dealt With 'Hard Times': 'We've Beefed' For the uninitiated, an 'almond mom' is defined as a parent who often imposes unhealthy eating habits and body image expectations onto their children. Holker, for her part, primarily raised Weslie as a single mother. (The Dancing With the Stars alum also shared son Maddox, 9, and daughter Zaia, 5, with late husband Stephen 'tWitch' Boss, who died in 2022.) 'I love a good chip [and] she would not let me eat it,' Weslie recalled on Sunday's episode. 'Now, she doesn't care! You're definitely a lot more [laid back now.]' Holker has since recalibrated her parenting when it comes to food and eating since having Maddox and Zaia. 'With Weslie, I was, like, 'OK, we're going to do this. I'm going to be a good mom.' At that moment, I thought that being a good mom meant that everything was healthy,' Holker said. 'I was researching everything that was in our kitchen, and I was really diligent about it. I think in a lot of ways it helped me, though I was a little extreme in it.' Susan Sarandon's Daughter Says She Was a 'True Almond Mom': Cheerios Were 'Junk Food' She added, 'I don't know if it was for the right reasons, but I did want to have a healthy lifestyle. I was like, 'I'm gonna be the best mom if I do this.' It was a really good choice for me because it educated me more, but then I feel everything comes with balance.' To allow for better balance in her kids' diet, Holker lets them have fast food or other snacks in moderation. 'There's a lot of healthy options in our home, but I also allow them to be children,' Holker said. 'I found a little more joy in it, too. I'm just teaching now what I'm trying to do. With Weslie, I was a little strict and now with Maddox and Zaia, I want to be a little more well-balanced.' (Credit: Getty Images) NEW YORK — NFL legend Tom Brady beat out dozens of fans, celebrities and professional athletes to win the inaugural Fanatics Games at Fanatics Fest 2025 on Sunday. Brady, who last competed in the NFL in January 2023, finished atop the Games leaderboard with 399.1 total points to win the $1 million grand prize. Brady said he would give $5,000 to all of the 50 fans who compete and donate the rest to charity. Advertisement UFC lightweight Justin Gaethje (345.4) and fan Matt Dennish (326) finished in second and third places to win a 2025 Ferrari 296 GTB and a 2003-04 LeBron James Topps Chrome Gold Refractor, respectively. Dennish later traded the card to Brady for $250,000 cash, plus a signed Brady card and jersey. The Fanatics Games featured eight skill-based challenges with a total of 100 points available for each event. The two lowest-scoring events for each participant were automatically dropped to make 600 points the maximum score possible. Six of the top-10 scorers were fans. James Harden and Eli Manning joined Brady and Gaethje as professional athletes in the top 10. "There is a competitive spirit that I have … I had to at least show up and not embarrass myself,' Brady said during Fanatics Fest's closing ceremony. Advertisement Brady joined hundreds of athletes and celebrities for the second annual Fanatics Fest NYC this weekend at the Javits Center. Billed by Fanatics as a comic con for sports fans, the three-day event featured games hosted by the professional leagues, autograph and photograph sessions, talk-show style panels and a large trading card and collectibles show.
