Last Updated: According to Mumbai Police, her autopsy was conducted and the opinion about her cause of death has been 'reserved'. Actor and model Shefali Jariwala, best known for her breakout appearance in the iconic music video Kaanta Laga, passed away in Mumbai late Friday and her last rites were performed on Saturday with close family members and friends in attendance. According to Mumbai Police, her autopsy was conducted and the opinion about her cause of death has been 'reserved". The body was sent to the civic-run Cooper hospital for post-mortem. As the cause of death is not yet clear, the Mumbai police have registered an accidental death report (ADR). 'The autopsy has been done, but the opinion on the cause of death has been reserved. Based on preliminary information, it appears to be a natural death, and there was no foul play," a police official said. After being informed about her death, a mobile forensic unit and a police team reached the actor's apartment and launched an investigation. Anti-Ageing Process Linked To Her Death? Meanwhile, as per the police sources as cited by media reports, the actress was reportedly undergoing anti-ageing treatment which involved the use of Vitamin C and Glutathione, a drug commonly used for skin lightening and detoxification. As per the sources, Jariwala had taken her usual pills on Friday night. In the afternoon, she had a shot of an injection—reportedly of the anti-aging drug. After consuming these, her blood pressure reportedly dropped drastically at night and she began shivering, prompting her family members to rush her to the hospital. It is also claimed that she had been fasting the entire day due to a puja at her home, and that consuming pills on an empty stomach may have worsened her condition. The timeline of events suggests that Shefali's health deteriorated between 10 and 11 PM on June 27. The forensic team has collected various items from the residence as part of the probe. As part of the ongoing investigation, statements from multiple people have been recorded. According to initial reports, Shefali suffered a sudden cardiac arrest late Friday night, between June 27 and 28. Who Was Shefali Jariwala? Shefali first rose to fame in the early 2000s with her bold and glamorous look in the remix music video Kaanta Laga, which became an overnight sensation. She was dubbed 'The Kaanta Laga Girl" and was seen as a trailblazer for the remix era. She also made a brief appearance in the 2004 film Mujhse Shaadi Karogi starring Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar. In later years, Shefali transitioned to reality TV and gained popularity through her participation in Nach Baliye with her husband, and later, Bigg Boss 13. Her entry into the Bigg Boss house was particularly talked-about due to her history with fellow contestant and late actor Sidharth Shukla.
