Rapper Badshah recently sent the Internet into a frenzy with a post about Dua Lipa, sparking backlash. It all began when he shared the singer's name, followed by a red heart emoji on X. Within moments, fans flooded social media with speculation, with many assuming that a collaboration between Badshah and Dua Lipa was in the works.
When a user asked, 'Are you making a track with her bro?' the rapper refuted the claims, saying, 'I'd rather make babies with her bro.' The now-deleted post quickly gained traction and was strongly criticised by social media users.
Following the backlash, Badshah reacted to it, further clarifying his remarks as a compliment. 'I think one of the most beautiful compliments that you could give to a woman that you really admire is to wish for her to mother your children. Meri soch nahi tumhari soch saamne aayi hai' (Your thoughts, not mine, have came forward), he wrote.

With over a million views, Badshah's reaction did not sit well with a section of users, who criticised him further. 'Since when did 'rather make babies' started translating into 'I want her to be mother of my kids'???' a user wrote. 'Would you call it a compliment if someone admires the ladies of your house by telling them the same thing? Understand the concept of respect, consent and the difference between being a chhicchora and the love of someone's life,' another user commented.
'Reducing a successful woman to a womb for your fantasy is entitlement disguised as flattery, not admiration,' a third user reacted.
In an interview in 2024, Badshah had opened up about his failed marriage and daughter. The rapper revealed that things turned 'very messy' between them toward the end of their relationship, largely due to cultural differences. He also opened up about their daughter, Jessemy, and the emotional toll the situation took on him. It was during this challenging period that he experienced his first panic attack, which prompted him to seek professional help.

What is the story behind Labubu doll? Rihanna, Dua Lipa, Kim Kardashian, and BLACKPINK's Lisa are obsessed with them

The Internet and celebrities seem to be wooed by the wide-eyed, broad-eared, and furry plush toys going by the name of Labubu. The appearance of these new toys on the market seems to have grabbed the attention of adults rather than just kids. Even celebs like Rihanna and Dua Lipa can't seem to get their hands off them. What is the Labubu doll? The Labubu doll is a part of the brand by Kasing Lung, a Hong Kong-based designer, under his collection of plush toy monster elves. These are now marketed and sold exclusively at the China-based retailer Pop Mart. Labubu has, in fact, become no less than a mascot identifying this brand. It was first introduced in 2015 as mere monster figurines. However, by 2019, it gained widespread fame after collaborating with a bigger retail brand. What makes the Labubu different from other dolls? The characteristic trait of the Labubu is its wide eyes, which grab attention almost immediately, as not many dolls possess this unique look. They have furry and round bodies and pointed ears. Nine sharp teeth and a mysterious smile make it all the more attractive. Labubu figurines are often sold as part of mystery or blind boxes, and buyers have the option of randomly picking one up without knowing its contents. This has led to people enthusiastically purchasing more of these dolls. Price of the Labubu dolls More interestingly, the retailers have assured that every customer is likely to receive a new and unique Labubu doll, rather than one of the others. These boxes are priced at somewhere above 16 dollars USD. History of the Labubu dolls One of the most frequently asked questions about the viral Labubu dolls is whether they have any historical or cultural connection regarding their unique appearance. Well, it indeed contains influences from Nordic culture. The creator of the Labubu doll, Kasing Lung, was raised in the Netherlands, and the doll, which is part of his created story series The Monsters, carries forward the legacy he grew up listening to as a child. Do legends of elves inspire the Labubu doll? Speaking with Hypebeast, the creator of the Labubu doll, Kasing Lung, opened up about how the figurines are often confused with creepy-looking elves. Explaining whether his line of dolls is inspired by fairytale legends, he said, 'I liked to read storybooks and was influenced by ancient European elf legends. There were no game consoles or computers, so I had to draw dolls with a pen, so I had the idea of painting fairy tales since I was a child.' Labubu dolls and The Monster series Besides being acquired as plush toys, the Labubu dolls have also been popularised as a part of the Monster series of stories. There are certain other members of this community, known as Zimomo, Mokoko, and Tycoco. Labubu's growing fame with BLACKPINK's Lisa The first instance of celebrity popularity occurred when BLACKPINK' s member Lisa flaunted adorable Labubu doll keychains on her bag. Her love for the cute figurine became a trendsetter in no time and went viral, inspiring many people around the globe to follow suit. Rihanna and her Labubu affection One of Rihanna 's recent appearances went viral on social media when the Barbadian singer was seen joining the trend of Labubu. Dressed in a blue hoodie, there was a pink Labubu doll keychain on her handbag, which stood out from the rest. Dua Lipa's assortment of Labubu charms Albanian singer and songwriter Dua Lipa also seems to be mesmerised by the Labubu doll charm. In one of her airport appearances, she was seen flaunting an assortment of these figurines hanging from her bag. Kim Kardashian's enviable collection of Labubu dolls Speaking of Labubu doll love, Kim Kardashian has already proven she's the ultimate connoisseur of the allegedly 'creepy-looking' figurines. In one of her posts on Instagram stories sometime back, the American socialite gave a peek into the collection of Labubu dolls she has with her.

Honey Singh jabs Badshah after rapper justifies his viral Dua Lipa remark: ‘Genius'

Singer and rapper Badshah created a storm on the internet after writing 'I'd rather make babies with Dua Lipa'. Since then he faced backlash on the internet. While he reacted to the criticism, Badshah also justified his words, leaving many, including Honey Singh stunned. After facing mixed reactions to his 'I'd rather make babies with her' comment about Dua Lipa, Badshah later called it a compliment. He wrote, 'I think one of the most beautiful compliments you can give a woman you really admire is to wish for her to mother your children. Meri soch nahi, tumhari soch saamne aayi hai (Not my thoughts, but your thinking came forward).' His clarification further left netizens fuming. Some even called it a 'bad coverup.' Reacting to the news by a media outlet, Honey Singh, Badshah's rival, made fun of his justification. Honey Singh wrote in the comment section of the news article, 'Genius' with some laughing and clapping hands emojis. Reacting to Singh's comment, a user wrote, 'Paaji using sarcasm.' 'Paaji tussi great ho,' added another user. Honey Singh and Badshah were once part of a popular rap collective Mafia Mundeer. Besides them, it also included Ikka, Lil Golu, and Raftaar. However, following a public fallout that led to the group's split, the two have frequently been seen taking indirect and direct jabs at each other via interviews, social media posts and more. However, last year Badsha had shared that he wished to end their fallout. During his Dehradun concert, he said, as per Hindustan Times, "There was a phase in my life when I held a grudge against one person, and now I want to call it quits and leave that behind – and that's Honey Singh. I was unhappy because of some misunderstanding, but I realised that when we were together, there were far fewer people trying to bring us together than those trying to break us apart. Today, I just want to let everyone know I've moved on, and I wish him all the best.' Now, it is clear that Honey Singh might not be on the same page as Badshah. In fact, previously he once more took a dig at Badshah during his concert of the Millionaire tour.
