Woman arrested in RM95,000 fraud case linked to comedian Along Cham's wife, has records in four states
Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the cases were reported in Sabah, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah, and Selangor.
'The woman is also wanted in connection with a case reported in Tanjung Aru, Sabah,' he said during a press conference at the Selangor Contingent Police Headquarters (IPK) today, as quoted by the Malay daily.
He added that the woman has been remanded for four days while her husband is remanded for three days to assist in investigations under Section 420 of the Penal Code.
Hussein said police are also investigating claims that the woman had allegedly worked with authorities to help lower the charges against Along Cham.
'This matter is still under investigation to determine if any authorities were involved, whether police, other agencies, or if this was merely an accusation against the authorities,' he was quoted saying.
Earlier, Sinar Harian reported that the couple, aged in their 20s, were arrested at their residence in Salak Tinggi, Sepang, at 10pm on Wednesday.
It was reported that police received a complaint from Afreena Suhaimi, alleging a RM95,180 fraud in connection with a purported offer to help reduce a court charge.
Police investigations revealed that in December, the victim met the suspect to discuss her husband's (Along Cham) case. The suspect allegedly offered to help reduce the charges.
After agreeing, the victim transferred RM95,180 to two bank accounts provided by the suspect. However, the suspect failed to deliver the promised assistance, leading the victim to file a police report.
The case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating.

Four Form One boys nabbed over alleged Kajang mall assault on classmate
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 1 — Four Form One students were arrested yesterday for allegedly assaulting a classmate at a shopping mall in Kajang the day before, Berita Harian reported. Kajang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof said police received a report from the 13-year-old victim at 12.57pm yesterday. The boy alleged he was punched and slapped by schoolmates who were still in uniform at the time of the incident. 'Investigations showed the incident took place at 11am the day before, when the complainant and several schoolmates went to the mall. 'He was called aside to discuss grievances his classmates had with him, before he was physically assaulted,' Naazron was quoted as saying by Berita Harian. The victim sought treatment at a nearby hospital and was found to have sustained minor facial injuries. According to Berita Harian, a video of the incident that has since gone viral shows the victim being beaten by two students, while two others filmed the episode using their mobile phones. Police arrested the four 13-year-old boys at about 8.35pm in the Bandar Kajang area. A two-day remand was granted until tomorrow to assist investigations. The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt and Section 506 for criminal intimidation. It is also being probed under Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955, which carries a fine of up to RM100 upon conviction. Police view the incident seriously and have urged students to adhere to school rules and avoid behaviour that could jeopardise their future. ‘Queen's Night' probe widens: Police warn remaining eHati participants to come forward or face arrest
SHAH ALAM, July 16 — Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan has urged members of the public who took part in the eHati 'Queen's Night' marriage motivation programme to give their statements at the Shah Alam District Police Headquarters (IPD) as soon as possible. He said they have identified around 50 participants, of whom 30 have been interviewed. The remaining individuals have been asked to come forward or face arrest. 'We have already recorded statements from several participants. However, there are still individuals, including public sector employees, who were involved and have yet to step forward. We will not hesitate to arrest them,' Hussein said. The case is being investigated under Section 209 (false claims), Section 14 (minor offences), and Section 294 of the Penal Code, which includes offences committed under the guise of religion. Among those arrested are six individuals — four women and two men — believed to be married couples who participated in the so-called Queen's Night session, a four-day, three-night retreat offered under 'Package B' of the eHati programme. Queen's Night reportedly involved nudity and lewd acts. Police have also seized various items from the event, including liquids believed to have been used during ritual-like activities. These materials have been sent to the Ministry of Health for further analysis to determine whether they contain banned substances or drugs. 'This programme has been organised before, but this is the first time we're seeing something like a 'Queen's Night' session. That element is new and is central to our investigation,' said Hussein. The programme was organised by a company known as eHati, which offers corporate motivational and self-development courses. Police clarified that participants are not official members of eHati and that investigations are focusing on both facilitators and participants. Authorities are also working to determine whether the event violated any religious sensitivities or misused religious elements to manipulate attendees. 'Not everyone who attended the programme is Muslim; individuals of other races were present as well,' said Hussein. Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari was reported to have asked the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) to look into allegations of immoral activities during the organisation of eHati programmes at a convention centre here. JAIS director Datuk Mohd Shahzihan Ahmad confirmed the case is being investigated under Section 7 of the Syariah Criminal Offences (Selangor) Enactment 1995.

Cyberjaya student murder: Male suspect to be charged under Section 302, says Selangor police chief
KUALA LUMPUR, July 8 — A male suspect in the murder of university student Maniishapriet Kaur Akhara in Cyberjaya is expected to be charged soon under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said. The charge was initially expected to be brought before the Sepang magistrates' court at 8.30am today, according to earlier reports. However, Sepang police chief Norhizam Bahaman later confirmed that the case has been postponed to a date yet to be determined, according to a report in Free Malaysia Today. Three suspects — a man and two women aged 19 and 20 — were arrested between June 26 and June 27 in Johor Baru and Gemencheh, Negeri Sembilan, following the discovery of Maniishapriet's body. The victim, a student at the University of Cyberjaya, was found dead in her condominium unit by a friend on June 24. She had been living with five housemates, who had returned to their hometowns for the holidays on June 21. Police said all three suspects were known to the victim and confirmed there were no signs of forced entry into her unit. An autopsy determined that she died from blunt force trauma to the head and showed no evidence of sexual assault. Authorities also revealed that the male suspect used Maniishapriet's debit card to withdraw money from multiple ATMs shortly after her death. Her laptop, mobile phone, and some cash were also reported missing from the unit. The remand orders for all three suspects have been extended until July 1
