New Florida police officer has first encounter with alligator
LARGO, Fl. (WSAV) — First impressions don't always go well. Just ask a police officer who moved from New York to Florida. He came face-to-face with an alligator.
It went about as well as you'd expect.
The officer responded to what his department called a 'very Florida' situation: an alligator wandering onto someone's property. He worked up the courage to hold it, despite some pleading for help and maybe even some squealing.
The department shared the moment online.
The gator was safely relocated to another area and no officers were harmed.
The Largo Police Department said this was the officer's official welcome to Florida.
