Passenger at Bangkok's Thunder Dome: start time, tickets, potential setlist and everything you need to know

Time Out18-06-2025
Many will recognise 'Let Her Go' – a track that leans on simple yet striking images like light, sun and home to capture the emptiness that lingers when something essential disappears after love fades. It started, as these things often do, by accident. I was at a game cafe in 2012 – one of those dim, blinking places where time collapses and teenagers subsist entirely on instant noodles and borrowed Wi-Fi – when 'Let Her Go' floated through my headphones, uninvited. I wasn't looking for poetry. I was probably mid-click, halfway through some medieval siege. But then came the line: ' Only know you love her when you let her go.' It landed with the quiet cruelty of something far too true for a Tuesday afternoon.
It's 2025, and Michael David Rosenberg – though most will know him as Passenger – a British folk singer with the kind of weathered sincerity that tends to sneak up on you – is finally playing a show in Thailand. A little late, perhaps, considering his biggest song has been echoing through bedrooms, cafes and breakup playlists for well over a decade. Still, there's something fitting about it. His music has always been less about arrival and more about the long road getting there.
By the time 'Let Her Go' became a global phenomenon, topping charts across continents and amassing billions of views, the moment had already passed. The track had quietly entered the bloodstream of a generation not especially prone to feeling things out loud.
If 'Let Her Go' ever held a place in your personal soundtrack, this might be the moment to hear it in real time. Before the lights dim and the first chord lands, here's everything you need to know.

English singer cancels concert after 'falling ill' just hours before show

An English singer has been forced to pull the plug on a gig after 'falling ill' just hours before he was due on stage. Rag'n'Bone Man – real name Rory Charles Graham – first rose to fame in 2016 with his single Human, with the album of the same name then becoming the fastest selling debut album by a male in the UK for the decade. Soon after the 40-year-old from Eastbourne was named the British breakthrough act at the Brit Awards and won another Brit for the best British single for his break-out track. He's since released two more albums and while the singer has been performing across Europe over the summer, he's had to cancel his latest show – which had been scheduled tonight in Lithuania. A statement posted on his Instagram today explained: 'Show cancellation today. We're deeply sorry to let you know that today's concert in Kaunas has been cancelled as Rag'n'Bone Man has unfortunately fallen ill. He is currently seeking medical care and we wish him a speedy recovery. 'We know many of you were looking forward to the show and may have travelled or made special plans, we truly appreciate your understanding at this time. 'Rory will be so upset to have to cancel this show and will be working hard to schedule a show in Lithuania soon.' The post was also captioned: 'Today's concert in Kaunas has been cancelled due to Rag'n'Bone Man unfortunately falling ill. For ticket refunds, please contact your ticket distributor/the point of ticket sale from which you purchased.' The musician is next set to perform in Poland at the Bittersweet Festival in Poznań later this week. He was quickly met with messages of support from fans, who wished him a speedy recovery. 'We were about to leave home and drive to Kaunas when I got the email, very sad news but Rory's health is more important. Get better,' Sandra wrote. 'Take care and we're waiting for you,' Zax shared. 'Wishing u a speedy recovery man,' Helena added. In an interview with Clash last year, he spoke about his love of touring. More Trending 'I think I just enjoy doing loads! I take on as much as possible to make this work,' he said. 'It is exhausting… but I love playing live. So, if you have to get up early, do the gruelling parts, then that's just the way it has to be, I guess. 'I've always loved it, and I still love it now – I don't feel any different than I did 10 years ago, to be honest.' Got a story? Goodchild excited to race on home waters in The Ocean Race Europe

The 35-year-old, who lives in France but calls Falmouth home, is representing Team Biotherm in the 4,500-nautical mile multi-stage offshore race which began in Kiel this week and ends in Montenegro on September 20. The opening leg of the contest docks in Portsmouth on August 14, with the race departing from the Royal Yacht Squadron for leg two three days later. 'I'm definitely excited,' said Goodchild, who is joined in the boat by skipper Paul Meilhat, co-skipper Amelie Grassi, Jack Bouttell and Gauthier Le Boc. 'I have spent a lot of my racing life in France, as that is where the offshore racing world is based, but bringing these really cool boats which we sail around the world into Portsmouth is really exciting. 'I will catch up with some old faces and show them what we do, so I'm really looking forward to it and I am hoping there will be a good turnout!' Sam Goodchild will race in The Ocean Race Europe with Team Biotherm (Image: The Ocean Race Europe) Goodchild is one of seven Brits competing in the race this year but there are no UK-based teams, something he hopes can soon change. 'I enjoy France but I live out there for work,' he said. 'I have been over there for the last 10 years for sailing. 'I come back regularly and I still consider the UK home but being over there helps my career the most. 'If we can have more interest in sailing, more people sailing and more British sailors on the start line, that is definitely the direction I want it to go in.' Goodchild was part of the crew who finished second in The Ocean Race two years ago, a worldwide event. He feels he learned plenty from that experience as he targets success this time around. 'Two years ago, it was my first time sailing those sorts of boats so it was a learning curve,' he said. 'The race lasted six months as opposed to six weeks so it was a bit more of an endurance. 'This time, I have been racing in these sorts of boats for the last three or four years non-stop, which changes the whole scenario, so I am looking forward to the challenge. 'Of the seven crews here, they all have good sailors on and the level of competition will be very high, which is what we are looking for.' Sustainability is one of the key aspects of The Ocean Race Europe and it is also a topic close to the heart of Goodchild, who is aware of the impact taking part in a sport he loves can have on the climate. 'The whole team makes an effort as to what we can do to reduce our impact,' he said. 'We travel around Europe, which isn't great, but we try and do it by train, which takes a bit longer but it is nicer and more interesting. "In partnership with the Tara Foundation, we have also installed a microscope on board to capture microplankton for use by scientists (Eco Taxa Database), who then use and analyse the data. 'It is a big part of our sport at the moment, what we can do to reduce our impact, so we all have to do our bit.' Seven international teams, seven stopovers, 4,500 nautical miles, racing for the ocean. The Ocean Race Europe comes to Portsmouth 14 - 17 August - the city where the race first began in 1973 as the Whitbread Round the World Race.

Royal Caribbean passenger at center of viral broken slide video plans to sue company after suffering injury

A Royal Caribbean passenger who was injured using a water slide is intending to sue the cruise line, according to his lawyer. The incident took place on board the Icon of the Seas last Thursday, when the man headed down the 'Frightening Bolt'. As he travelled down the slide, an acrylic glass panel on the left side suddenly cracked, creating a hole in its wake. The man's skin was 'sliced through' by the glass, according to his attorney Alex Perez, who told Local10 that the cruise guest was now planning to file a lawsuit in response. At the time of the initial report it was not clear how serious the passenger's injuries were but Royal Caribbean confirmed he received medical care. A video of the incident that was shared on social media showed water gushing from the hole as passengers looked up from below. Jim Muldoon, who caught the moment on camera, is heard asking, 'Did the person fall?' as onlookers rushed to warn anyone else at the top of the slide. Lillian Destefano, who witnessed the nail-biting incident, said she was thankful the situation was not more serious. 'As I understand it, it was cracked,' she told Local10, referring to the slide. 'Like the gentleman that went before him, who just got cut slightly, and then when the other gentleman went down, it sliced him, but he passed it, and then the glass fell and the water gushed. No-one fell through, thank God.' A Royal Caribbean Group spokesperson told the Local10 in a statement Friday: 'Our team provided medical care to an adult guest when acrylic glass broke off a water slide as the guest passed through the slide.' The cruise line said the water slide was closed for the remainder of the trip, pending an investigation. The cruise travelled to Royal Caribbean's Coco Cay island before returning to Port Miami on Saturday morning. The Independent contacted Royal Caribbean for comment. The Icon of the Seas is among the largest cruise ships in the world, with 20 decks, over 2,800 cabins and space for 7,600 guests and 2,350 crew. It also boasts the largest waterpark at sea with six record-breaking slides, the company says.
