has broken her silence about her dad's new relationship.
After confirming she is no longer estranged from Billy Ray Cyrus following more than a year of family feud rumors, the "Flowers" singer shared her thoughts on his blossoming romance with Elizabeth Hurley, as well as her mom Tish Cyrus' almost two-year marriage to Prison Break's Dominic Purcell.
"Now that my mom is so in love with my stepdad, who I completely adore, and now that my dad, I see him finding happiness, too—I can love them both as individuals instead of as a parental pairing," Miley told The New York Times in an interview published May 31. "I'm being an adult about it."
The 32-year-old continued, "At first it's hard, because the little kid in you reacts before the adult in you can go, 'Yes, that's your dad, but that's just another person that deserves to be in his bliss and to be happy.' My child self has caught up."

Miley's interview was published about a week after Billy Ray and Elizabeth made their red carpet debut as a couple. The "Achy Breaky Heart" singer, 63, and Austin Powers actress, 59, were joined by her son Damian Hurley, 23, at the Orizzonti | Rosso exhibition opening dinner at Palazzo Barberini in Rome, Italy May 24.
The couple went public with their relationship in April on Easter Sunday, three years after they filmed the movie Christmas in Paradise together and eight months after Billy Ray finalized his divorce from Firerose.
He and Elizabeth made their surprise announcement with a joint Instagram post showing the Hannah Montana alum kissing the actress as the two lean against a wooden fence at what appears to be his Tennessee farm.
Weeks later, Billy Ray shared a rare photo with Miley—plus her boyfriend Maxx Morando and brother Braison Cyrus—that appeared to have been taken there as well, confirming the two had reunited following their rift.
"My dad and I have had our challenges over the year," Miley wrote on her Instagram Stories May 10., one day later "Now, in my thirties, family is my priority above all else. I'm at peace knowing bridges have been built and time has done a lot of healing. Grateful for the good health and love that flows through my family."
On Mother's Day, Billy Ray noted he and Miley were "so close to a full healing."
'We have all been through a lot," he wrote on Instagram May 11. "On this Mother's Day I would like to testify to a couple facts. 1) I still very much believe in the power of prayer and respectfully ask if you do also ... and have an extra prayer for the CYRUS Family... I humbly would accept."

New Madeleine McCann search under way

Portuguese and German authorities have started a new search into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann in Portugal nearly two decades ago. Madeleine was three years old when she vanished from an apartment complex in the town Praia da Luz in Algarve during a family holiday on 3 May 2007. Her disappearance sparked a Europe-wide police investigation, and has become one of the highest-profile unsolved missing person cases in the world. On Monday, Portuguese police confirmed they were carrying out the search on warrants issued by German prosecutors. Portuguese police say the search - which covers the municipality of Lagos near Praia da Luz - is due to continue until Friday. Four vehicles carrying German police have arrived on the search site, the roads to which have been closed off. German investigators have taken the lead in the case since they identified Christian Brückner as their prime suspect in 2020. The 48-year-old is currently serving a sentence in Germany for a separate crime - the rape of a 72-year-old American tourist in Portugal in 2005. He is due to be released later this year. German authorities suspect him of murder but have not found enough evidence to bring charges, while Brückner repeatedly denies any involvement. Portuguese authorities have also named Brückner as a formal suspect, or "arguido". They said they would hand over any evidence seized in the latest search to German authorities. The team of German and Portuguese investigators have been given permission to search 21 plots of land between the Ocean Club resort Madeleine disappeared from and where Brückner had been staying at the time. German authorities told the BBC on Monday that "criminal proceedings are currently under way in Portugal" with the support of Portuguese police. The previous search was two years ago, focussed around a reservoir where Madeleine was last seen. Brückner, who spent time in the area between 2000 and 2017, was found to have photographs and videos of himself near the reservoir. The night Madeleine disappeared, her parents had been at dinner with friends at a restaurant a short walk away while Madeleine and her younger twin siblings were asleep in the ground-floor apartment. Her mother, Kate, discovered her was missing at around 22:00. A German documentary in 2022 found evidence that Brückner occasionally worked at the Ocean Club as a handyman, while German prosecutors have also linked his mobile phone data and a car sale to their case against him. Madeleine's parents last month marked the 18th year anniversary of her disappearance, saying their "determination to leave no stone unturned is unwavering". The Metropolitan Police - which this week said it was "aware of the searches being carried by the BKA (German federal police) in Portugal" - continues its investigation into Madeleine's disappearance. The case, known as Operation Grange, has been going since 2011.

Real Madrid Legend Linked To European Giant

Real Madrid legend Luka Modric is being linked with a possible move to AC Milan by both the Italian press and transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano, citing anonymous sources. Modric's departure from the Bernabeu after winning no fewer than six Champions League titles across 13 glory-filled years was announced last month, as the European club season wound down. 'The time has come. The moment I never wanted to come, but that's football, and in life everything has a beginning and an end... On Saturday I will play my last game at the Santiago Bernabeu,' Modric wrote in a farewell letter. 'I arrived in 2012 with the illusion of wearing the shirt of the best team in the world and with the ambition to do great things, but I could not imagine what came next. Playing for Real Madrid changed my life as a footballer and as a person. I am proud to have been part of one of the most successful eras of the best club in history,' the Croat added, while also explaining that he will play in the Club Word Cup which kicks off in the United States on June 14. Madrid has a strong chance of going all the way to the final on July 14 and also earning serious prize money in the meantime. Regardless of how far Los Blancos go, though, Modric must find a new employer if he wishes to continue playing, while closing in on his 40th birthday. That's where AC Milan could come in according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, which has run a front page spread regarding the potential free transfer. Elsewhere on X, formerly known as Twitter, Fabrizio Romano explained that 'AC Milan new director Igli Tare dreams of bringing Luka Modrić to the club'. 'He's one of the names mentioned in initial internal talks. Modric received several approaches from clubs all over the world since leaving Real Madrid, [but is] not in a rush to pick his next club,' the Italian added. Thought of by many as being Real Madrid's greatest ever midfielder, Modric clearly has plenty of options to continue a storied career. Potential next destinations aren't just in Europe, but also in the United States and Saudi Arabia.

Far-Right Leader Pulls Out of Dutch Governing Coalition

Geert Wilders, the far-right leader of the biggest political party in the Netherlands, announced Tuesday that he would withdraw his ministers from the country's governing coalition over a dispute about migration, setting off a new political crisis. The move will likely trigger the imminent collapse of a government that was sworn in less than a year ago, as well as new elections. Mr. Wilders announced the withdrawal of his Party for Freedom from the four-party coalition on X, saying the decision was made because of his partners' refusal to sign off on a new list of proposals to curb migration. 'No signature for our migration plans,' he wrote in the message. The Party for Freedom, which has advocated banning the Quran, closing Islamic schools and entirely halting the acceptance of asylum seekers, won the largest number of seats in November 2023 elections, sending shock waves through the Dutch political system. Mr. Wilders was able to form a government with three other right-wing parties — the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy, a center-right party; the Farmer Citizen Movement, a populist pro-farmer party; and New Social Contract, a new centrist party — after seven months of negotiations last year. Together, the four parties hold 88 seats in the 150-seat House of Representatives.
