
Egypt looks forward to becoming major industrial hub for American industries, President Sisi
CAIRO – 26 May 2025: Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received a delegation of US businessmen participating in the Egyptian-US Economic Forum held in Cairo.
The delegation was headed by CEO and President of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Suzanne Clark and Chairman of the US-Egypt Business Council and CEO of Apache Corporation John J. Christmann.
Also present were Prime Minister Dr. Moustafa Madbouly, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport Eng. Kamel El-Wazir, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Dr. Badr Abdel-Atty and Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Eng. Hassan El-Khatib.
The Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said the President first met with Ms. Clark and Mr. Christmann before being joined by the members of the delegation.
The President expressed Egypt's readiness to cooperate with the American business community and investors in all economic fields of mutual interest, in light of US President Trump's support to enhancing cooperation between Egyptian and American companies.
President El-Sisi affirmed that Egypt looked forward to becoming a major industrial hub for American industries, also serving as a large market and a gateway to the Arab region and the African continent, in light of the strong relations Egypt shares with the continent's countries.
The President also affirmed that Egypt looked forward to establishing an American industrial zone in the Suez Canal Economic Zone and emphasized that Egypt was ready to provide all the necessary facilities to American investors, noting that investing in Egypt is an opportunity for any investor, as it enjoys both political and societal stability, based on the awareness of citizens and their resilience in enduring the major and harsh economic reforms that were implemented to achieve the public interest, in light of the difficult political circumstances that the region is experiencing and their ensuing repercussions.
Clark noted that the delegation's visit to Egypt confirms the strength and solidity of the strategic alliance between Egypt and the USA.
She explained that American companies operating in Egypt have achieved significant successes and contributed to the development process in Egypt, and are considered a model to be emulated in the success of cooperation between the two countries, similar to the Apache Corporation. This was highly valued by the President, who expressed his appreciation for the success of Apache's business in Egypt and the expansion of its scope of work.

She graduated from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in 1953, where she was taught by the playwright Zaki Tulaimat. From 1972 to 1975, Ayoub managed The Modern Theatre, and from 1975 to 1985, she was the director of The Egyptian National Theatre. Throughout her artistic career, she has presented more than 260 film, TV, and theatrical productions, including 170 plays alone. Her distinguished film contributions include 'Ard el-Nefaq', 'Fagr el-Islam', and 'Bein al-Atlal,' while her notable television works include 'El Doo' el-Shared', 'Awan el-Ward', and 'El-Masrawiya.' Ayoub was honored by President Gamal Abdel Nasser, President Anwar Sadat, Syrian President Hafez al-Assad, and French President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing. In 2015, she received the Nile Award in the Arts, and in the same year, the large hall at The Egyptian National Theatre was named after her, in honour of her outstanding career in cinema and theatre, and her contributions to the theatrical arts in Egypt. In 2021, after a hiatus of 11 years, Ayoub was back on the theater stage through the play' Almaz W Se Abdou'' directed by Mazen el Gharabawy. FM Receives High-Level Indian Parliamentary Delegation in Cairo
Nada Mustafa Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration, received a high-level parliamentary delegation from India during their official visit to Cairo. During the meeting, Abdelatty emphasized the importance of capitalizing on the momentum witnessed in Egypt-India relations over recent years and translating it into concrete actions to enhance cooperation across various fields. He also highlighted the significance of activating the strategic partnership agreement between the two nations to serve the interests of their friendly peoples. FM further stressed the importance of leveraging the delegation's visit to Cairo to establish institutional parliamentary cooperation between Egypt and India and to explore new avenues for bilateral collaboration. On a different note, Abdelatty expressed Egypt's solidarity with India following the terrorist attack that took place in Pahalgam, Kashmir, on April 22, 2025. He referred to the phone call made by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the incident, as well as his own conversations with the Indian Foreign Minister, reflecting the depth of the bilateral relationship and Egypt's unwavering humanitarian principles in opposing all forms of terrorism. Abdelatty also voiced Egypt's concern regarding the growing threat of terrorism, describing it as one of the most serious security challenges facing humanity. He outlined Egypt's comprehensive approach to combating terrorism and emphasized the country's accumulated experience in confronting severe waves of extremism over past decades.
