The army also acknowledged that 16 other soldiers from the 605th Combat Engineering Battalion were injured in the resistance ambush, noting that the seven soldiers were completely incinerated when an explosive detonated under a Puma engineering vehicle in Khan Younis, making their evacuation extremely difficult.
