It was my emotional breakdown: Tanushree Dutta opens up on viral video

Tanushree Dutta has opened up about the emotional video she recently shared on her social media. In the now-viral clip that she shared on Tuesday (July 22 2025), the actress can be seen sobbing and talking about being allegedly "harassed" inside her home.
'I am being harassed in my own house. I just called the cops, and they have asked me to come to the police station to lodge a proper complaint. I will probably go tomorrow or the day after. I am not well. I have been harassed so much in the past five years that I have fallen sick,' she said in the video.
Tanushree has alleged that the video was a result of 'pain, stress, and fear she faced over the last five years'. Speaking to ANI, Tanushree said her video was not a stunt or drama, but a real 'emotional response after enduring repeated traumatic events since the #MeToo wave in 2018'.
'First of all, I want to say that it was my emotional response,' she said. 'A lot of strange things have happened to me in the last five years. After #MeToo, serious and dangerous things started happening around me. It took me time to understand that all of this was actually happening to me,' she said.
'I was in an accident; my brakes failed. There were also attempts to mix something in my food to make me sick. Strange things started happening outside my house too,' Tanushree added. When asked if anyone from the film industry reached out to help, she said, 'I don't have any friends. And when all of this started happening to me, the few contacts I had also disappeared.'

About people calling her a drama queen after her video, Tanushree said, 'People always say such things. They said I was acting in 2008, they said the same in 2018. And who are these people anyway?'
She also responded to the accusations that her viral video was a publicity stunt saying, 'There are many ways to go viral. I don't need to do all this. I am Tanushree Dutta, Miss India Universe,' she said. Tanushree first gained fame when she won the Femina Miss India Universe title in 2004. She later acted in popular films like Aashiq Banaya Apne, Dhol, and Bhagam Bhag.

Trailer of Rajesh Tailang, Sheeba Chaddhas Bakaiti out now

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 27 (ANI): Actors Rajesh Tailang and Sheeba Chaddha are coming up with a family drama 'Bakaiti'. On Sunday, the makers unveiled the trailer of the show, garnering audience's attention. 'Bakaiti' centers on the quirky yet close-knit Kataria Parivaar. Naina (Tanya Sharma), 21, is ambitious and grounded, suddenly forced to share her world with her younger brother Bharat (Aditya Shukla)--a cricket-crazy, boundary-blind teen who thrives on mischief. Their daily squabbles unfold under the watchful eyes of their parents, Sanjay (Rajesh Tailang) and Sushma (Sheeba Chaddha), who juggle unspoken grief, mounting pressure, financial instability, and the daily grind of making ends meet. Sharing her experience, Sheeba Chaddha said, "Being part of Bakaiti felt like stepping into a world that's incredibly familiar yet rarely shown with such honesty. The Kataria family reflects the unsaid love, everyday struggles, and quiet strength that define so many Indian homes. Playing Sushma reminded me how laughter and love can thrive even in the chaos. I'm thrilled to bring this relatable story to life with such a heartfelt team." Rajesh Tailang also shared, "Bakaiti is a story that feels lived-in, like a memory from your own past. Sanjay reminded me of so many fathers--silent providers, emotional anchors, and sometimes accidental comedians. There's beauty in the everyday, and this series captures it with so much heart. I feel grateful to reunite with Sheeba ji and work with a team that values nuance, humour, and the tender messiness of family life." The series will be out on ZEE5 soon. (ANI)

Amit Jani (Image courtesy: X) NEW DELHI: The central government on Sunday provided Y- CRPF security to Amit Jani, the producer of the upcoming film Udaipur Files, following his claims of threats to his life. The security cover will be applicable in both Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, officials told news agency ANI. Jani, who also heads the Uttar Pradesh Navnirman Sena, a right-wing outfit, expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah for the decision. "Heartfelt thanks to honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji and home minister Shri Amit Shah ji for providing Y-category security from the Center," he wrote on X. Udaipur Files is based on the 2022 killing of tailor Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur, Rajasthan — a murder which drew national outrage. Originally scheduled to release on July 11, the film ran into legal and censorship issues. It will now release on August 8. The Delhi high Court dad earlier stayed Udaipur Files' release despite censor board clearance, citing potential risks to communal harmony.
