Registration open for 2024 Drive, Chip and Putt qualifiers
Local qualifying begins in May and will continue throughout the summer with 357 sites in all 50 states for boys and girls, ages 7-15. The full schedule of qualifying events includes 10 notable venues set to host regional qualifiers this fall for participants who advance: TPC Sawgrass, Whistling Straits, Pinehurst Resort & Country Club, Laurel Valley Golf Club, Valhalla Golf Club, The Ridgewood Country Club, Pebble Beach Golf Links, Hazeltine National Golf Club, Fields Ranch at PGA Frisco and Four Seasons Hualalai Resort.
Top performers at the local level will advance through sub-regional and regional qualifiers in July/August and September/October, respectively. From these qualifiers, 80 finalists — 40 boys and 40 girls — will earn an invitation to compete in the National Finals at Augusta National Golf Club on Sunday, April 5, the eve of the 2026 Masters Tournament. Qualifiers are facilitated by all 41 sections of the PGA of America across the country.
Local qualifying begins May 2 at Champion Lakes Golf Club in McAllen, Texas. The full breakdown and schedule of 2026 Drive, Chip and Putt qualifying is as follows:
Local (May-August): 357 host sites throughout all 50 states; No more than 3 juniors advance in each age/gender category from every venue
Sub-regional (July-August): 64 host sites; 2 juniors advance in each age/gender category from every venue
Regional (September-October): 10 host sites in 10 regions; 1 junior advances in each age/gender category from every venue
National Finals (April 5, 2026): 80 total participants at Augusta National Golf Club

I've waited 17 years to sign that flag in the middle, and I will never complain about doing it.' McIlroy said he's already planned a couple of trips with some friends to go to Augusta National as well as one with his father. 'It'll probably be a little emotional,' he said. 'I think that'll be a cool moment to be with him.' McIlroy noted that he still gets emotional just thinking about it. He's made friends with members over the years and to be able to return and enjoy the course again will be special. 'Sort of reminisce over the good and the bad that happened over the course of the week, yeah, that'll be really cool,' he said. 'I've always said some of my favorite times at Augusta were when it wasn't the Masters Tournament, but it'll be lovely to next time go there and go up to the champions locker room and put on my green jacket and feel like I belong.' Speaking of the Green Jacket, McIlroy said he didn't take it off on the night of his victory until he went to bed around 3:30 a.m. He only slept about three hours and when he woke up he had a moment where he questioned did he really win the Masters and complete the career Grand Slam? 'You wake up and you see the green jacket lying over a chair in the bedroom and you think, yeah, that did happen yesterday,' he said. He added that he has been reluctant to wear it. 'I'm reluctant to wear it. It's not as if I wear it a lot. I have it hanging in my wardrobe in a place where I can see it every day, but I don't know, I always thought if I had one — if I did win the Masters one day, I'd never have the thing off, and it hasn't been that way,' he explained. 'I haven't worn it as much as I thought I would.' He's got another seven months with it in his possession and, of course, a lifetime to sign the famed Masters flag.

PGA Tour announces 2026 FedEx Cup schedule, with 35 stops in five countries, 20 states
The 20th edition of the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup season in 2026 will feature 35 official-money events, nine Signature Events and stops in five countries and 20 states. The Tour announced its schedule for next year two days before the 2025 FedEx Cup season ends with the Tour Championship at East Lake in Atlanta, beginning on Aug. 21. The top 30 players on the points list will compete for a $40 million bonus pool, with $10 million to the winner. Nine venues have been on the PGA Tour schedule for more than 50 years. TGL announces tee off date for second season
TGL is officially returning for a second season. The indoor golf league captivated the world of sports and the world at large in hits first season this past winter and will officially be back in action starting December 28th. The reigning champions of the league, Atlanta Drive GC, will take on New York Golf Club in the first match of the season. All told there are six teams within TGL right now and they feature stars from across the PGA Tour. It was announced earlier this year that a seventh team would be added beginning in 2027 (Motor City Golf Club) and there are rumors that a Texas-based team could be on the way as well. As far as the present is concerned though, TGL remains an important part of the overall sport of golf. It offers a different option at a time of year where the sports calendar needed something new.
