Heartbreaking tributes paid to 'beautiful soul' after teenager stabbed to death
Ibrahima Seck, 14, was rushed to hospital but tragically died from his injuries on Sunday evening. Heartbreaking tributes have been paid to a "beautiful soul" who was stabbed to death outside a pub. Ibrahima Seck, 14, was rushed to hospital but tragically died from his injuries on Sunday evening. He was stabbed outside the Fairway Inn in New Moston, north Manchester, before running to nearby Nevin Road, where neighbours rushed to his aid. As reported by the Manchester Evening News, police closed off the scene and remained in attendance outside the pub on Monday. A property on nearby Warbeck Road has also been sealed off. A GoFundMe page has been set up to support Ibrahima's family by Dawn Frimpong. She wrote: "I had the honour of working with this young man, in a school, where he was very well loved. "He was a beautiful soul who had the most infectious smile and you couldn't help but laugh with him. He will be missed by so many. I am attempting to raise as much money as possible for Ibrahima's family so they are not worrying about financial burden at this very difficult time. "We must stand together as communities in times like this and offer support no matter how big or small. Any contribution would be very greatly received." Miss Whittaker told the M.E.N. she taught Ibrahima at Manchester Community Primary Academy for two years. "Ibrahima was the most beautiful boy," she said. "He touched my soul and he had such a beautiful heart. I'm devastated beyond words." A neighbour of Ibrahima's, who did not want to be named, told our sister title that he was the youngest of three siblings. She said: 'He was so young, it's so very, very sad. I cannot understand what this country is coming to.' The woman said the family had lived on her street, a short distance from the Fairway Inn, for a 'couple of years' and she spoke to Ibrahima's parents as neighbours. 'I heard about it last night' she added. 'I heard the helicopter last night then I read about it on the news. Then a police car pulled up and they went inside. That's when we knew. "Another neighbour who knows the family very well said it was the youngest one. I felt sick. So very, very sick. I just couldn't believe that had happened to a family like that. It's so sad, bless them. There's not much we can, just offer our condolences and be there if they need anything.' Tributes have also been left at the scene where Ibrahima was attacked, alongside flowers and messages of support for his family. One note said: "From one mother to another, I know there are no words that can ever ease your pain. "But I pray God gives you the strength to face each new day. Please know that as a community we hold your family in our hearts." Another said: "Things need to change! Knives down, gloves up! Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this horrific time. There are good people in this city! We pray for your son." Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. Detective Chief Inspector John Charlton said: 'This incident will have shocked and saddened the local community, and distressed anyone who witnessed it. We are deploying significant resources to this murder investigation, and this led to quickly identifying potential suspects. "We are still trying to establish the full circumstances around the incident – there will be a large police presence and several scenes in place while we continue to investigate this horrific incident. The boy's family are being supported by our officers and we are determined to give them the answers they deserve. "Despite making several arrests, this is still a live investigation, and we are looking for information, doorbell or dashcam footage, or eye-witness accounts from anyone who was in the area at the time quoting log 2250 of 8/6/25. "Information can be reported to us by calling 101 or anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Urgent search to reunite girl with epilepsy with missing therapy dog
An urgent search has been launched to reunite a young girl with epilepsy with her missing therapy dog in the Highlands. Louie, adopted as a therapy dog for his owner Louise Manson's daughter, who lives with epilepsy, ran off after slipping his lead near Steall Falls in Glen Nevis on May 26. Louise has since led an 'emotional and tireless' campaign to find her pet, supported by a Facebook group with over 1,200 members. The search has been backed by volunteers combating vast, rugged terrain after Louise appealed to the public in the hope that someone picked Louie up thinking he was lost or abandoned Fort William resident Iona Macdonald has since launched a GoFundMe campaign to support the search for the Golden Retriever. The raised funds hope to bring in professional support, including drone search teams and tracking dogs, to continue the effort. So far, £2,690 has been raised, smashing its original £2,000 goal. Louise has expressed overwhelming gratitude for the public's help so far, saying their home 'isn't home without him.' The fundraiser reads: 'A good friend was up Steall Falls in Glen Nevis on Monday May 26 in the evening and her family dog Louie slipped his lead and ran away. Despite numerous hours spent searching by everyone and strangers who have kindly joined in searching Louie has still not been found. 'As many will know the area Louie has run of is very big open spaces with lots of rough terrain and the searches so far have not been successful. 'Organised searches will be sorted soon on the Facebook page. 'Louie is a Golden Retriever and is a lovable, friendly dog, now all the searches have so far not shown anything we now think we could try and raise some funds to help Louise towards paying for specialists to come up with thermal drones. 'Anyone who has a dog will know they are not just an animal, they are part of your family. I cannot imagine how Louise, Charlie ,and the girls are coping.' Whitney Decker, the mother of the children and Decker's ex-wife reported the girls missing on May 30 after he failed to drop them home. As Governor Bob Ferguson activated the National Guard to support the over 100-strong manhunt for Decker, a look into his internet search history revealed a possible escape plan. A US Marshals Service affidavit obtained by Fox News affliate KCPQ claims he searched "how to relocate to Canada". Other searches found on his Google account included a Canadian job website and "how does a person move to Canada". 9 New images from cops show Decker's tattoos as they urge the public to keep an eye out Credit: Chelan County Sheriff's Office 9 Decker seen in doorcam footage in 'last known appearance' before their bodies were found Credit: Chelan County Sheriff's Office 9 Over 100 officials are on the lookout for Decker who may have crossed the border into Canada Credit: U.S. Army/Visual Information Specialist Gertrud Zach These were carried out on May 26, just days before Decker failed to return the children to their mother. Court documents seen by KCPQ also reveal that the 32-year-old's phone records show "he drove to and left the same campground a day prior to the kidnapping." Officials who are already concerned about how Decker's military training will make him hard to find have highlighted their concerns that he has crossed the border. There is currently no official port of entry at that part of the border so hikers can freely cross into Canada without detection. "The location of the victim's remains is relatively close to the Canadian border and approximately 11 miles from the Pacific Crest Trail, a well-established trail that leads directly Canada," the affidavit read. Authorities have launched a land and air search of the popular tourist spot but nothing has emerged yet. The Chelan County Sheriff's Office involved in the hunt has revealed that Decker's military past means he is "well versed in wilderness survival". He is "capable of spending days or even weeks in the wilderness on his own and with very little equipment". Court documents highlight that Decker is trained in navigation, mountainous and woodland terrain, long-distance manoeuvers and wilderness survival. 9 New release by the Sheriff's Office as manhunt continues Credit: Chelan County Sheriff's Office 9 Decker is a veteran with extensive training in wilderness survival Credit: Facebook "We are searching anywhere and everywhere for him," Chelan County Sheriff Mike Morrison said. Those living in remote cabins and rural areas have been warned to keep their doors locked to all buildings including sheds. They have also been told to keep their outdoor lights on and window blinds open. To help with the search, the Sheriff's Office has released some new pictures of Decker. The updated release continues to warn the public that he is "considered dangerous and may be armed, call 911 immediately". The pictures taken from a surveillance camera show him walking in a t-shirt, shorts, and sandals with facial hair and a pony tail. Others show close-ups of the distinctive tattoos he has on his arms and ankles. His grieving ex-wife has said that "something broke in him" after he struggled to get help for his mental health issues, insisting he was a good father and never violent to her or the children. Decker's arrest warrant charges him with three counts of first-degree murder and kidnapping.
