Man charged with failing to stop after A61 crash which killed six
A man has been charged with failing to stop at the scene of a collision in which six people died last Morgan-Roller, nine, and her four-year-old sister, Lillie, died alongside their mother, Shannen Morgan and father, Shane Roller, when the family's car collided with a motorbike on the A61 between Barnsley and Wakefield on 21 and wife Christopher and Janine Barton, who were both travelling on the motorcycle, also died in the crash, which happened close to the Newmillerdam Cockell, 49, of Gresford Close in Barnsley, appeared at Leeds Magistrates' Court last Friday.
The case was adjourned until 24 Roller and Ms Morgan lived in Athersley, in Barnsley. The couple also had a third daughter who was not with them at the time of the fatal collision. A GoFundMe page set up in the wake of the tragedy to raise money for the surviving sister raised more than £400, two motorcyclists killed in the collision, Mr Barton, 56, and Mrs Barton, 48, were also from the Barnsley area.
