Gold Bar Distillery hosts record-breaking event on Treasure Island
Battling strong winds and high spirits, the crowd came together to stir and shake their way into the record books for the most cocktails mixed simultaneously. While only the "most cocktails stirred" record was officially broken, the energy and enthusiasm of the event were anything but diluted.
"It's an excuse to make memories with my son," said Gary Spenik, who attended the event with his family. "Like a lot of people, I think during COVID I got into cocktail making, made a few drinks. This seemed like a great opportunity to come out here."
Guests were greeted with whiskey shots distributed by Gold Bar volunteers before the big moment. Amid laughter and the clinking of cocktail tins, participants awaited the official count.
Former San Francisco Giants outfielder Hunter Pence was also on hand, supporting the brand and the record attempt.
"We felt the Bay Area energy. We're in a beautiful location right on the water—you've got the whole skyline of San Francisco," Sam Thumm said, a Gold Bar Distillery representative. "Whenever people come out to the distillery, everyone is just in that great mood. There's a great vibe."
Despite the festive atmosphere, officials from Guinness World Records carefully counted each participant and ensuring compliance with guidelines. In the end, only the stirring record was certified, but attendees weren't shaken by the outcome.
"It's just something you don't see every day," one participant said. "I don't think I was in the Guinness Book of World Records before, but after today, we can all say we were part of it."
Gold Bar Distillery plans to continue hosting community events at its Treasure Island location, raising spirits—and maybe more records—in the heart of the Bay.

In the wake of Destiny 2's profitable Solstice event, so profitable I'm not sure Bungie entirely thought it through, it seemed like going back to the normal grind was going to be a slog. And while that still may be true, at reset, Bungie announced something that was at the very least eyebrow-raising. At Tuesday reset, Bungie revealed that this week, special weapon damage and ammo drops have been increased in Portal activities. Cool, great, we've seen things like 25% surges before and such for various specials, so whatever. Not whatever, not whatever at all. As the in-game pop-up says, the damage increase here for all special weapons is double. They will do twice as much damage, and if you build into ammo even a little bit, with that extra boost my guess is you'll practically be using these as a primary. That was sort of viable for some weapons before, but it may be true for most of them now. This shines a specific spotlight on a weapon like Mint Retrograde, the brand-new rocket pulse rifle that is already like a heavy weapon that uses special ammo. It's hard to take off at all and now it's flat-out twice as good. Also in the same breath you can cite Choir of One, the hugely powerful special auto rifle that even with recent ammo reserve nerfs, is still more or less a primary. Now, double damage and more ammo. Ridiculous. There are weird ebbs and flows with deltas where 260 is easy, then 280 is hard, then 300 is easy again. Now, in Grandmaster, I'm not finding anything's that difficult at all, so this is just icing. The exception here would be Mythic Kepler missions which have enemies that are so overly obnoxiously stuffed with health that this double damage may make things actually feel vaguely normal. The main Portal issue here remains rewards versus time, where it's not worth running nearly anything but Solo Ops the majority of the time for max rewards. And now that Solstice is gone, getting lots of quality loot has been cut by probably 90% instantly, given how rewarding that event was. So, double damage specials will be fun, but the main issues with The Portal are still in place. This does give us a glimpse of what it seems Destiny 2 has in store for future 'dead' weeks, in this case a spell after a big event ends and another starts. And it also shows they're willing to go much further than we've seen in the past, and I really cannot remember a damage surge to this degree that wasn't an actual bug. So, what else do they got? Obviously, you could run the same modifier for primary or heavy weapons. Double drops seems like an extremely easy one which they have done before plenty of times, but it's even more relevant for the Portal now. I'd love one that gave us 80% shorter ability cooldowns or something like that. But the point is, they appear to be willing to finally take some very big swings when it comes to mixing things up, even if there isn't all that much content to mix up in the first place. Oscar Isaac Teases MOON KNIGHT's Future in the MCU: 'Maybe We'll See Him in a Movie' — GeekTyrant
It's been a while since we last saw Moon Knight wreaking havoc in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and fans have been waiting for any hint of what's next for Marc Spector and his wild crew of personalities. While a second season of the Disney+ series hasn't been officially greenlit, Oscar Isaac recently shared a cryptic but hopeful update that suggests we haven't seen the last of the Fist of Khonshu. During a fan convention appearance, Isaac was asked directly about a possible second season of Moon Knight , and he offered this short but intriguing reply: 'We'll see, maybe one day, or in a movie we'll see him [return].' That line's enough to keep the speculation train chugging along, especially since this isn't the first time Isaac has dropped vague teases. Back in 2022, shortly after the show wrapped its first season, Isaac was seen in a TikTok video alongside executive producer and director Mohammed Diab in Cairo. When Diab's niece asked about a second season, Isaac replied: 'Why else would we be in Cairo?' Naturally, fans assumed that meant season two was a done deal. Fast-forward to now, and things remain... complicated. According to Brad Winderbaum, head of Marvel Television, the studio's priorities have shifted when it comes to Disney+ series. While he didn't spill any specific details, it lines up with rumors that the character could return in upcoming projects like Avengers: Secret Wars or the highly-anticipated Midnight Sons film. The Moon Knight Season 1 finale left things wide open. Not only did Marc and Steven finally reach some kind of peace, but we also met Jake Lockley, the third, and most brutal, persona. He and Khonshu eliminated Arthur Harrow (Ethan Hawke), but the ending hinted at much darker territory ahead. Whether it's on the small screen or the big one, Moon Knight 's story clearly isn't over, and with Isaac still game to put on the white suit again, fans just might get their wish.
