New on Netflix in March 2025: Every movie and TV show, including pivotal Manson family documentary
Spring is en route – and while it might (hopefully) be getting warmer outside, Netflix has plenty of options to keep you fixed to your sofa.
Among the highlights for March, which will see the removal of Netflix's 'best' original film, are new adventure film The Electric State starring Millie Bobby Brown, a new Meghan Markle cookery series previously delayed due to the Los Angeles wildfires, and one-shot drama Adolescence from Boiling Point duo Stephen Graham and Philip Barantini.
This month, Errol Morris, who directed seminal true-crime documentary The Thin Blue Line (1988), will also release his latest, which sees him question 'the complex narrative of the Manson family murders' by 'challenging the official accounts of the most infamous killing spree of the 1960s'.
Morris told Netflix: 'I've found myself trapped in a number of different true-crime stories, and the Manson murders are peculiar. You could encapsulate the mystery in just one question: How is it that Manson managed to convince the people around him that killing was OK?'
Below, we've run through every movie and TV show set to be released on Netflix in March 2025. The Independent compiled this list with assistance from What's on Netflix.

Cynthia Erivo and The Vivienne among ‘LGBT+ changemakers' in 2025 Pride List
The Independent's Pride List for 2025 also includes retired Olympic diver Tom Daley, actor Bella Ramsey, artist David Hockney, comedian Joe Lycett and author Juno Dawson. Erivo, 38, who won a Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (Glaad) Award earlier in the year, was placed at number four on the top 10 list while The Vivienne, the drag alter-ego of the late James Lee Williams, is seventh. The Vivienne attending the National Television Awards 2020 (Isabel Infantes/PA) The Vivienne, who won the first series of RuPaul's Drag Race UK and spoke publicly about prejudices faced by LGBT+ people and by the drag community, died in January at the age of 32 and is a posthumous inclusion on the list. Topping the 2025 Pride List is Victoria McCloud, a lawyer, former judge and transgender woman who announced she would take the Government to the European Court of Human Rights over the Supreme Court's ruling on the definition of a woman. Dr McCloud said: 'I'm delighted and honoured that The Independent has included me in its Pride List this year. 'In 2025, more than ever before, amidst increasing oppression and segregation at home, with court and state against us, people from the trans community yearn to be bathed in rainbow light. 'These are uniquely dark times but we will challenge those who wish to marginalise us, be they Government or activists with money and the odd mega-yacht to spare. 'We have been here for centuries; we will be here for centuries to come. The quiet majority walk with us.' In April the UK's highest court unanimously ruled that the terms woman and sex in the Equality Act 'refer to a biological woman and biological sex'. Bella Ramsey is third on the list (Ian West/PA) Chloe Hubbard, UK editor of The Independent, said: 'We are proud to champion our most influential LGBT+ changemakers once again on our annual Pride List in a year where the community has been further marginalised on both sides of the Atlantic. 'Visibility and pride within the queer community feels more vital than ever and we are dedicated to continuing to occupy our unique place in the media on LGBT+ issues.' In 2023, The Independent relaunched its Rainbow List as the Pride List, to recognise 50 extraordinary 'LGBT+ changemakers'. The 2024 list included Doctor Who and Sex Education star Ncuti Gatwa, commentator and former England footballer Alex Scott, Wicked and Bridgerton actor Jonathan Bailey and screenwriter Russell T Davies. To mark the publication of its Pride List, The Independent will host an event at Queer Britain on June 11. This year's top 10: 1. Victoria McCloud, former judge of the King's Bench 2. Brit pop icon Adele thanks Netflix hit Adolescence for 'changing her relationship with her son' in heartwarming letters
Brit pop star Adele has written letters of thanks to the creators of the Netflix hit series Adolescence. The singer, 37, told director Philip Barantini, 44, that she made a point of watching the hard-hitting crime drama with her 13-year-old son, Angelo. Adele praised the series for 'changing her relationship' with Angelo, whom she shares with ex-husband Simon Konecki, 51. Adolescence, starring Owen Cooper and Stephen Graham, follows the story of a 13-year-old schoolboy accused of murdering a classmate after being radicalised by misogynistic online content. Director Philip said: 'I am getting messages, inundated on Instagram, from people from all over the world who can relate to this story or have really been affected by it. That, for me, has blown my mind a little bit.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the Daily Mail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Speaking during a masterclass with the Royal Television Society in words obtained by The Sun, he added: 'I had a text message from Steven Spielberg who has watched it twice, and I got letters from Adele last week - handwritten letters from Adele. He continued: 'I mean, just like saying that she had watched it with her son, and it has changed their relationship.' The director added that the show has surpassed their expectations as he gushed about the power of Netflix which has elevated the show to such a level. The four-part series has become Netflix's second most-watched English-language TV show ever, behind only Wednesday, the Addams family spin-off. Since its March 13 debut, Adolescence has racked up 141.2 million views. The series has sparked a national conversation and even prompted Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer to suggest it be shown in schools. He revealed that he watched it with his 14-year-old daughter and 16-year-old son, saying: 'As a dad, I have not found it easy viewing.' It comes after Adele made a rare public appearance with her fiancé Rich Paul, 44, at an NBA game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Minnesota Timberwolves earlier this year. While Adele and Rich have chosen to keep their relationship largely out of the spotlight, they have frequently been photographed together at sporting events. Adele previously revealed to Rolling Stone that they met through a mutual friend, having both got up to dance to a Drake song at the birthday party. The couple, who have been dating since 2021, announced their engagement in August of last year when Adele flashed her engagement ring. Following a proposal from a fan, Adele admitted: 'I can't marry you, because I'm already getting married.' The romance is Adele's first relationship since she divorced her ex-husband Simon. The couple were married between 2018 and 2021 and are said to have parted on amicable terms after Adele decided to end the relationship. She told British Vogue: 'I wasn't miserable miserable, but I would have been miserable had I not put myself first. 'But, yeah, nothing bad happened or anything like that.' Following Adele's announcement that she and Rich were engaged, she revealed that she would be taking an extended break from music. She has been full of praise for the relationship and said that she would like to have more children. 'Once I am done with all my obligations and all of my shows, I want to have a baby,' she said on stage last May. 'I want a girl because I've already got a boy. I feel like she might be like the person I love the most in the world, but also probably hate the most in the world. 'That is what I feel will happen. She's going to put me in my place all the time, isn't she? With me as her mother and Rich as her father, she's going to be a bossy little queen, isn't she?' Rich, from Ohio, already has three children - Reonna, Richie, and Zane - from a prior relationship.
