Wolves have remembered Jota's contribution to the club with his induction into the hall of fame, which is run independently by a committee.
'There is such a feeling of sadness and disbelief around this awful tragedy that we wanted to make this tribute of our own as soon as we could,' said Wolves hall of fame chairman and club vice president John Richards on the club website.
'Like everyone else, we've been stunned by events, and we remember what a wonderful player Diogo was for Wolves during that unforgettable promotion season under Nuno and our early years back in the Premier League.
'His record of 44 goals at Wolves, and then 65 at Liverpool as a Premier League title winner, speaks volumes. So many fans across the game – especially in Portugal after he helped them win the Nations League this summer – are feeling his loss deeply. We saw no reason to delay this decision.
'We hope it will bring a little comfort to those who were close to Diogo and Andre, and we trust Wolves supporters will understand that this gesture is made with real love and admiration, and also fully justified.'
Wolves are planning to remember their former player further, firstly in the home friendly against Celta Vigo and then against Manchester City on the opening day of the season.

When I was playing against Arsenal last season, I could really feel it was a very strong team and very difficult to play against. "That made me choose Arsenal, and of course all the history the club has and the massive fanbase. It's been amazing to see all the support that they have already given me before I even arrived. That's what it's all about. It's going to be very nice to see them in the stadiums as well." Unsurprisingly, Arsenal's new no.14's mind is already on finding the back of the net. After struggling in his previous spell in the Premier League with Brighton, Gyokeres wants to put things right. "I always want to score,' he said. 'To be a part of this club and to score in this kit and with this badge in front of all the supporters, I can't wait. It will be an amazing feeling. "I started here [in England], it feels like a long time ago. I think I've improved a lot since then. Now I want to prove myself for real and perform together with the team. "It's a big honour to play for your country, and then to score goals for them is amazing. When I played at Sporting, I scored a few goals in the Champions League so I feel that I can be on that level as well. Despite finishing sixth in Ligue 1, Lyon were initially relegated to Ligue 2 due to the poor state of their finances.
