Pahang hands over land titles to 41,286 Felda settlers
BERA: The Pahang government has presented land titles to 41,286 settlers or 96 per cent out of 43,126 Felda settlers across the state.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said the remaining 1,840 settlers would receive their land titles soon.
"We (the Pahang government) are always committed to look into the welfare of the Felda community, and various efforts have and are being implemented to safeguard their rights, future, and development throughout the state.
"Settlers are the heroes of development, the backbone of rural progress, and key contributors to the national economy," he said in his speech during a ceremony to hand over land titles and open the mini-Felda carnival at Felda Triang 3 here today.
A total of 195 settlers received their land titles involving house and plantation lots today.
Wan Rosdy described the land titles as a recognition of the sweat, sacrifices, and resilience of the Felda community in transforming the once empty land into fertile and prosperous schemes.
He said the land grants are not just a piece of paper but a legitimate symbol of recognition that the land now belongs to the respective settlers.
Meanwhile, Wan Rosdy said the needs of the Felda community remain a priority as the Pahang government has appointed an executive council member to manage all Felda-related affairs.
"We have set up the Felda Pahang Muafakat Secretariat to serve as a bridge linking the settlers and Pahang government to look into the issues and needs of the community, with RM2 million allocated this year.
"Phase 1 of the Felda People's Land Scheme Project (STRFP) offers 16,035 residential lots to eligible second-generation recipients across the state," he said.
Meanwhile, Felda Triang 3 settlers head Abdul Wahab Jusoh said the first and second generation of settlers were grateful to finally receive the land grants.
"We have waited more than 35 years and the good news arrived today. All the settlers have pledged to take care of their respective land which will be inherited by their families in the future," he said.

NACCOL offers 100 subsidised sacrificial cows to Permatang Pauh residents
BUKIT MERTAJAM: The National Action Council on Cost of Living (NACCOL) has distributed 100 cows at half of the market price to ease the financial burden of Permatang Pauh constituents performing the sacrificial ritual in conjunction with Aidiladha this Saturday. "Although Permatang Pauh is not the Prime Minister's parliamentary constituency, he feels a strong connection to this area. That is why he wants to help ease the burden of the people here and allow them to carry out the ritual at an affordable price," he told reporters after the ceremony to distribute the sacrificial cows at the Taman Arowana night market site today. Under the programme, 40 areas, including mosques and surau, as well as members of non-governmental organisations and staff of government agencies in the constituency, received the cows that they had purchased. Shamsul Iskandar noted that the initiative did not involve any government subsidies, as NACCOL purchased the cattle directly from farms in large quantities. He said the sacrificial cows were obtained through collaboration with the Johor State Farmers' Organisation and Johor Plantations Group, adding that the initiative will be expanded to other parliamentary constituencies next year. "For example, the congregation of Masjid Kubang Ulu in the Permatang Pauh parliamentary constituency purchased 17 cows. The total would have reached RM95,000, but through this initiative, they only paid RM47,000, savings of nearly 50 per cent," he added. - BERNAMA
