See thousands of elephants parachute into Dumbo next month
Get ready, Brooklyn—your favorite airborne pachyderms are about to make their grand descent. The annual Dumbo Drop returns Friday, May 30, bringing with it thousands of toy elephants parachuting from the rooftops of Dumbo's Washington Street in one of the city's most delightfully surreal spectacles.
Now in its ninth year, this gravity-defying fundraising event benefits local public schools, PS307 and The Dock Street Middle School, and has become a full-on neighborhood blowout. Two ticketed drops are scheduled at 5pm and 7pm, with toy elephants designed by artist Zeph Farmby floating down to eager crowds below.
"Brooklyn's favorite iconic event is back,' said Alexandria Sica, president of the Dumbo Improvement District, in an official statement. 'This [is] basically the best Friday night ever in Dumbo.'
For $15 and up, attendees get a souvenir elephant, access to the viewing area between Front and Water Streets, and an entry into the sweepstakes to win some serious Dumbo loot, like a six-month family membership to Life Time gym in Dumbo (worth $5,000), a stay at 1Hotel Brooklyn Bridge or $500 to spend at local favorite Almondine Bakery. Winners can pick their prizes in a draft, fantasy football-style.
New this year: a high-energy dance party led by Life Time's star trainer Joseph David, a photo opp station and live music from The Jelly. Fuel up at the Taste of Dumbo food row and cool off at the open-air beer garden.
Families can also swing by the free Dumbo Archway Party from 4–7pm, no ticket required. There, you'll find a 20-plus activity Kids Zone put together by Brooklyn Bridge Parents, a giant bouncy slide powered by Elliston Pediatrics and a glitter-filled Bedazzling Extravaganza courtesy of Creatively Wild.

Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf have golden rule to make legendary tennis marriage work
Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf have golden rule to make legendary tennis marriage work Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi enjoyed incredible tennis careers and have dominated the sport of pickleball in recent years while now sharing the secret behind their success on and off the court Tennis legends Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf are still going strong both on and off the court (Image: Getty ) Tennis legends Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi have revealed the golden rule they follow to make their marriage work. The couple are widely considered to be among the greatest tennis players the sport has ever seen. Graf's career from 1982 to 1999 saw her win a whopping 22 Grand Slams, being the only player ever to clinch each of the majors at least four times. In 2001, the German married men's tennis icon Agassi, who himself won eight Grand Slams with his scintillating play between 1986 and 2006. The couple have gone on to have two children, 23-year-old son Jaden Gil Agassi and 21-year-old daughter Jaz Elle. Now, a quarter of a century into their marriage, a key part of Agassi and Graf's relationship is the increasingly popular sport of pickleball. The two 55-year-olds began playing pickleball with their kids during the Covid-19 lockdowns in the spring of 2020 and have been hooked ever since. Graf admitted that the sport, which is similar to tennis but is played on a doubles badminton court, 'filled a huge' tennis-shaped gap in their lives post-retirement. And she revealed the one key reason that they have been able to sustain their marriage while competing. She said in an interview with BILD: 'We don't play against each other. We prefer to be on the same side of the court.' Agassi added: 'We like that pickleball is a community-oriented sport. People who play pickleball also improve quickly.' He went on to say: 'We really want to spread the game. When we're not traveling, we practice a lot of pickleball. Since we both play, it's fun to do it together.' On Saturday, April 12, Agassi hosted the first-ever Agassi Open Play Day at Life Time Green Valley to mark National Pickleball Month. The event was also mirrored at more than 100 Life Time athletic clubs around the United States at the same time. Earlier this year, Agassi and Graf defended their Pickleball Slam crown by winning the title for a third successive time. Article continues below When Agassi and Graf aren't playing pickleball, they enjoy spending time with their kids and their respective partners, even going on triple dates. Agassi said: 'We had a great date night the other night where it was me, Steffi, my son and Catherine, his girlfriend, and Jaz, our daughter, and her boyfriend Parker, and it was like a triple date and we all just went out and sat and talked. 'We feel like peers around them, we respect them, we seek their opinion on things, they're not hesitant to ask us our perspective on what they're going through, so it really feels like a healthy season in life.'

Todd and Julie Chrisley are already cashing in on their release from prison. The night he got home, Todd started filming a new reality TV show. But they were freed earlier this week after President Donald Trump pardoned them, and Todd revealed they started filming 'literally the night that we got home' for a new Lifetime series. Their daughter, Savannah, added: 'I think with this new series, you will see the first time he and mom see each other for the first time.' Before her parents were pardoned, Savannah and her siblings had been filming a series detailing how they had been coping since Todd and Julie were detained. She said: 'We obviously, we had been filming, and we had just wrapped filming for all intents and purposes and then we get the call that they had been pardoned, so we picked right back up. 'And we're excited because I think this new show is going to give, first off, it's gonna give people a look in to the trial and things that we went through and we're gonna set the record straight, put some documents out there. 'I know for me personally, now is - I get to be a normal 27-year-old, almost 28. And so my goal, it's like, we were talking last time, it's like I'm traveling to 30 countries by the time I turn 30.' Savannah also shared that she hopes to work with the Trump administration to 'expose the corruption because he has vowed to hold people accountable if there has been abuse and corruption to occur' and 'put bills in front of Congress, especially for women who are incarcerated'. Todd and Julie have always denied all charges against them. In clips captured by his daughter Savannah - which she posted on her social media pages - the pair are seen heading out on a shopping trip, with Todd pulling a bag over his head in a bid to avoid being photographed. In one of the videos, Todd revealed his wife Julie did not come shopping because she's 'hiding' at home, adding: 'She's smarter than I am.' Todd also declared: 'I'm so happy to be home. I'm going to start my skincare routine tomorrow.'

She captioned the snap: 'Reunited and it feels so good!' Trump called two of the couple's children - Savannah and Grayson Chrisley - earlier this week to tell them about his intention to pardon their parents. In the call, he told them: 'It's a terrible thing, but it's a great thing because your parents are going to be free and clean. 'We'll try getting it done tomorrow, so give them - I don't know them - but give them my regards and wish them well. Wish them a good life.' Grayson told him: 'Mr. President, I just want to say thank you for bringing my parents back.' White House spokesperson Harrison Fields said in a statement: '[President Trump is] always pleased to give well-deserving Americans a second chance, especially those who have been unfairly targeted and overly prosecuted by an unjust justice system. 'President Trump called Savannah and her brother from the Oval Office to personally inform them that he would be pardoning their parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, whose sentences were far too harsh.'
