Theme park horror as girl falls from rollercoaster after carriage detaches

A young girl has been hospitalised with 'serious injuries' after a rollercoaster carriage she was in became detached from the tracks, plunging several metres to the ground at a UK theme park.
The horrific incident occurred on Saturday morning, leaving onlookers in shock as the ride malfunctioned. The child was swiftly taken to hospital following the terrifying ordeal at the Llandudno Victorian Extravaganza, in North Wales.
Local reporter Aaran Lennox recounted the chilling events that unfolded at the well-attended festival. He reported: "A children's 'ride on car' detached from the ride mid-operation causing the car to fall several meters from the air whilst the child remained inside."
An investigation is underway by the operator to find out the cause of the malfunction. Chris Williams, Director of Llandudno Community Events CIC, released a statement regarding the accident.
He said: "At the extravaganza on Saturday morning there was an incident involving a ride on Mostyn Street at approximately 10.15am, still being investigated by the operator, reports the Mirror.
"The health and safety executive visited the extravaganza following the incident and permitted the operator of the ride to continue operating, however out of respect for the family involved the ride will not operate for the remainder of the event."
He added: "The extravaganza team is in communication with the family and we wish them a speedy recovery."
The Llandudno Victorian Extravaganza is a lively annual festival held over the May Day Bank Holiday weekend, reports Wales Live.
Esatablished in 1986 by local leaders and heritage enthusiasts, the event was designed to stimulate tourism during the usually quiet period between Easter and late May.
It has since transformed into a celebration of Victorian culture, drawing visitors from all over the UK and further afield.

The Antiques Roadshow audience couldn't help but burst into laughter and then a chrous of boos after expert Mathtew Haley's sheep related joke fell flat. The scene unfolded on the BBC show as Matthew assessed the value of a one-of-a-kind handwritten letter. He began sharing its unusual story in a picturesque countryside setting. He quipped: "So here we are today with some sheep over the moat from us and you've brought us a letter about sheep. Tell us all about it." The letter's owner delved into its history as reported by the Mirror: "So this is a letter that was given to my step-father's great-great-great grandfather who was the farmer in question, given the sheep by Captain Bainton. Captain Bainton was the captain of HMS Leviathan at the Battle of Trafalgar, and Nelson gave him the sheep." They added: "The sheep survived the Battle of Trafalgar, and when Captain Bainton returned to the UK, he gave the sheep and the letter to William Raymond, and this is the letter." Reacting to the tale, the BBC expert said: "Absolutely bizarre. It certainly is the first Nelson that I've come across that talks about sheep. "And here he is, writing from HMS Victory in June 1805, a few months before the Battle of Trafalgar. When it came to the valuation, Haley anticipated: "At auction, I would see it making certainly in excess of £5,000." The owner couldn't hide their astonishment at the valuation, exclaiming with a delighted "Wowza's!". Keeping up with the light-hearted atmosphere, the BBC expert delivered a pun, quipping: "Not much of a baa-gain", accompanied by an imitation of a sheep's bleat. Despite the audience's groans at his jest, the guest laughed, retorting: "Low blow." A source has told the Mirror: "David's long-awaited knighthood could be on the ropes after the news leaked." "David has wanted this knighthood for many years so the last thing he needs is the horse bolting before he's able to close the stable door. But, there are rules and protocols that those being awarded Honours must abide by – including a strict embargo on keeping hush hush before The Gazette shares the list." Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams has chimed in. The former Editor of The International Who's Who, explained: "There is a theoretical threat that names leaked before the Honours List is officially announced could have their honours removed. This is highly unlikely especially given the number of high-profile names leaked ahead of receiving their honours in the past, which have included Barbara Windsor and Tim Henman. "A whistleblower revealed Tim Henman's upcoming OBE award in December 2003. The leak included a memo from the main Honours committee and prompted concerns about the process, which ultimately led to much-needed reform. "Also, news of the late Barbara Windsor's Damehood in the 2016 New Year's Honours list was released, together with others, before the official announcement. This caused controversy, prompting an inquiry." He added: "However, Honours list leaks aren't new, In 2019, a government report containing names and addresses of recipients was accidentally published. Also, a leak in 2003 revealed a secret list of 300 who had previously declined honours." Richard went on to suggest a 'mole' in the system, reports the Mirror. He said: 'It appears there periodically seems to be a 'mole' in the system. 'If the leak had come from David's camp, then there may be a risk to his knighthood, but that most emphatically does not seem to be the case." "It is extraordinary that there has been no knighthood for David Beckham yet. He turned 50 in May and he is a phenomenon who only has an OBE. His charity work for UNICEF, helping to bring the Olympics to London and his incredible career achievements over the years, make the knighthood he will shortly be receiving long overdue."
