Llandudno: Child taken to hospital after 'incident' involving funfair ride
A child has been taken to hospital after an "incident" involving a "helicopter funfair ride" in North Wales. Organisers say two children were involved, with one in hospital "in a stable condition". Despite being told the ride could continue operating by the health and safety executive (HSE), organisers closed the ride for the remainder of the event "out of respect for the family". Chris Williams, director of Llandudno Community Events CIC, said an initial internal investigation by the ride operator found Saturday's incident had been caused by "human error". ADVERTISEMENT "The Llandudno Victorian Extravaganza organisers are in contact with the parents of the children and have been informed that the child in hospital is in a stable condition," Mr Williams added. "The parents have said 'that it could have been a lot worse'. We wish the family a speedy recovery from the incident and are here to support them in any way we can." The three-day event, which came to an end on Monday, describes itself on its Facebook page as Wales's "largest free family event".
