Horror as ‘young girl injured' after falling ‘several metres' from UK theme park ride when ‘car detached in mid-air'

A CHILD has been "seriously injured" after falling from a theme park ride.
A children's "ride on car" detached from a ride mid operation and it fell "several metres" with a girl inside on Saturday.

It occurred at the Llandudno Victorian Extravaganza festival in Llandudno, North Wales.
The child was reportedly taken to hospital following the incident with "serious injuries."
Chris Williams, Director of the Llandudno Community Events CIC, said: "At the extravaganza on Saturday morning there was an incident involving a ride on Mostyn Street at approximately 10:15 AM, still being investigated by the operator.
"The health and safety executive visited the extravaganza following the incident and permitted the operator of the ride to continue operating, however out of respect for the family involved the ride will not operate for the remainder of the event."

He added: "The extravaganza team is in communication with the family and we wish them a speedy recovery."

POLICE have launched an appeal to find a teenage girl who has been missing for almost a week. Skye, 13, was last seen around 9.20pm on Sunday, June 1, wearing a black jumper, dark blue jeans, and blue and white trainers in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, cops said. A public appeal to help find the missing teenager has now been launched by police, urging people to dial 999 immediately if you believe you have seen her. In a statement posted on X today, Hertfordshire Police said Skye is 5ft 3in tall, slim, and has long brown hair. Police also explained that the teenager has links to the nearby areas of Hatfield and St Albans. A spokesperson for the force said the appeal had been launched due to "increasing concerns" for Skye's welfare. They explained: "Officers have been making enquiries and carrying out searches at various addresses to trace her since she was reported missing and are now releasing a public appeal, due to increasing concerns for her welfare." The 21-year-old man's body was discovered at the bottom of a set of steps in the old town of the Algarve holiday resort. A MAN has tragically died after getting into difficulty while swimming near a UK beauty spot. The alarm was raised at Tor Bay, near Penmaen village on the Gower Peninsula, in South Wales, this afternoon. Advertisement Coastguard crews, police and paramedics were called to the scene. A 50-year-old from Sandfields, Swansea, was pulled from the water at around 1pm, said South Wales Police. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics at around 4pm.
