Three AI-Driven Medical Robots Redefining Healthcare Operations
As part of the collaboration, Ubitus and MacKay Memorial Hospital have co-developed three intelligent robots designed for various medical applications, combining NVIDIA's cutting-edge technologies with proprietary AI models:
AMR Robot: Equipped with a virtual assistant, this robot provides patient navigation, interactive companionship, and registration assistance, offering a more seamless and personalized patient journey.
Humanoid Robot: Built on NVIDIA Isaac GR00T N1, the humanoid robot features advanced dual-arm manipulation, enabling autonomous specimen transport and material handling in unmanned settings to boost logistics efficiency.
Quadruped Robot: Built on NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin and integrating NVIDIA Isaac GR00T ReMemBr and NVIDIA Isaac GR00T X-mobility technologies, this robot navigates high-risk, hard-to-reach areas to perform environmental monitoring— including gas detection, thermal sensing, and water leakage detection— transmitting real-time data to reduce healthcare risks.
Each robot uses the NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs with the Llama 4 large language model and NVIDIA Riva to enable natural, multilingual interactions. The virtual assistant uses NVIDIA ACE digital human technologies to enhance patient engagement with customizable avatars, offering emotional support, health education, and companionship for a more empathetic care experience.
Virtual-Physical Integration Speeds Deployment
The project utilized NVIDIA Omniverse and NVIDIA Isaac Sim to simulate hospital environments, enabling virtual testing, collaboration, and task training prior to deployment. This virtual-physical integration minimized pre-deployment risks and costs while significantly shortening deployment timelines and optimizing operational workflows.

STORY: Nvidia is developing a new AI chip for China. That's according to two sources, who said the U.S. tech giant will base the chips on its latest Blackwell architecture. They said it will also be more powerful than the H20 model Nvidia's currently allowed to sell there. U.S. President Donald Trump last week implied the firm might be permitted to sell more advanced chips in China. But the sources noted U.S. regulatory approval isn't guaranteed. They say Washington has strong concerns about giving China too much access to U.S. AI technology. The sources said the new chip is currently known as the B30A, and its specifications aren't completely finalized. They added Nvidia hopes to deliver samples to Chinese clients for testing as early as next month. Nvidia said in a statement: "we evaluate a variety of products for our roadmap, so that we can be prepared to compete to the extent that governments allow." The U.S. Department of Commerce did not respond to a Reuters request for comment. Xbox Game Pass tipped for cheaper cloud gaming tier — here's what we know

Xbox cloud gaming is arguably one of the coolest ways to play games. No consoles, no discs or even downloads. Just beam the game to your screen via the internet, and play like you normally would. There are some issues, of course, the least of which is the $20 a month subscription fee. Thankfully, things might not stay that expensive for long. Jason Ronald, Microsoft's VP of Next Generation, has been talking about accessibility to cloud gaming over on the official Xbox podcast. Specifically talking about people who use the $20 Ultimate subscription to access cloud gaming. "I think for us, it really opens up the opportunity to make it much more affordable, and make it more accessible to players," Ronald said. "Whether that's going into new regions, or new ways to actually access the [Xbox] cloud.' Now, it's important to note this is not confirmation that a cheaper cloud gaming plan is coming, but it suggests Microsoft is leaning in that direction. We first heard rumors of something like this a couple of years back, with speculation Microsoft may release a free version of cloud gaming — complete with advertising. Free seems to be a little too good to be true, and I can't imagine Microsoft would go quite that far down the "affordability" scale. However, it would be nice to see the company offer a version of Game Pass that only offers cloud gaming and cuts off all the other Game Pass perks in the process. Of course, such a service also runs the risk of being stuck at lower frame rates and resolutions. Plus, like Game Pass Standard, we may end up with a smaller library of games to choose from. "Together with AMD, we're designing dedicated silicon and hardware to enable the next generation of gaming experiences,' says Ronald. 'We're investing deeply in the next generation of rendering technologies, such as neural rendering, which will bring a new level of quality to the games that you're having.' Presumably this will be a mix of both Xbox hardware and cloud gaming software — the latter of which is clearly needed. Considering Nvidia just announced major upgrades to GeForce Now, which will see RTX 5080-powered cloud gaming and 5K resolution at 120fps, Game Pass certainly needs a big technical upgrade. Ronald also teased the inclusion of AI, but he didn't offer any specific details about them — nor did he suggest if and when a cheaper Game Pass tier could launch.
