The purchase was expected to be sourced from South America or South Africa. Shipment from South America was between July 20 and August 20. If the corn is sourced from South Africa, only 55,000 tons need be supplied.

European shares extend gains ahead of US-Russia talks
European shares rose on Monday, extending the strong momentum from last week on optimism over a potential Ukraine peace deal, while investors turned their attention to upcoming U.S. inflation data and tariff negotiations later in the week. Orsted plunged 22% after the Danish wind farm developer said it plans a 60-billion-crown ($9.4 billion) rights issue, citing adverse development in the U.S. offshore wind market. Northern Data dropped nearly 3% after U.S. video platform and cloud services provider Rumble said it was considering an offer of about $1.17 billion for the German AI cloud group.

Pakistan gets offers in 100,000 metric tons white sugar tender, traders say
HAMBURG: The lowest price offered in the international tender from Pakistan to buy 100,000 metric tons of sugar on Monday was believed to be $539 a metric ton cost and freight included (c&f), European traders said in initial assessments. Offers in the tender from the state trading agency Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) are still being considered and no purchase has yet been reported, they said. The TCP can negotiate for several days in tenders before deciding whether to purchase.
