Inter Milan will play the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup without forward Mehdi Taremi amid the escalating conflict between Israel and his native Iran, according to ESPN. Israel struck Iran on Friday with a series of missile attacks aimed at the country's nuclear facilities and high-ranking military officials, with Revolutionary Guard head Hossein Salami among the casualties. This would then involve the club giving up their second best winger in favour of keeping Diaz and spending the transfer fee they would receive on bringing in Leao, which is a notably complex plan. Diaz is by the far the more likely departure, but his intention is not necessarily to leave - his latest update on his future was pretty uninformative, claiming that he will be happy regardless of what is decided, whether that is remaining until his deal expires, extending his deal, or leaving this summer. If Diaz doesn't have a long-term future on Merseyside, then his possible replacement is available and potentially willing to move.
