Kate Middleton Has a New Tiara Event on Her Royal Calendar

Yahoo13-05-2025
Time for Kate Middleton to dust off one of her many tiaras!
At this point, the Princess of Wales' tiara moments are increasingly rare as she and Prince William attempt to tone down their "we live in fancy castles and are richer than you" vibe and lean into a "here we are on a relatable hike" vibe. But sometimes a tiara is unavoidable. Specifically, during state dinners.
Buckingham Palace just announced that King Charles will be hosting French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron for a state visit over the summer, and that means the royals will be breaking out their collection of crowns.
The state visit is going down from July 8-10, and apparently President Macron and Brigitte will be staying in Windsor since Buckingham Palace is undergoing renovations. Since Prince William and Kate Middleton live in Windsor, they'll almost definitely be included in the state banquet.
So, which tiara will Kate wear? She typically opts for the Cambridge Lover's Knot Tiara, a favorite of Princess Diana's that was made for Queen Mary in the early 1900s—inspired by a similar piece owned by Princess Augusta (Queen Mary's grandmother). This tiara was given to Diana as a wedding gift from Queen Elizabeth, and Kate's worn it a lot over the years.
The Princess of Wales could also wear The Halo Tiara (made in 1936), which she wore on her wedding day and was originally given to the Queen Mother by her husband prior to their wedding. It's decorated with "739 brilliants and 149 baton diamonds."
Kate's also been known to wear The Lotus Flower Tiara, which was made from a necklace given to the Queen Mother by her husband.
Honestly, she has a lot of options. Anyway, gonna go look at the tiara selection at, idk, Claire's I guess.

Is the viral Salt Hank French dip sandwich worth the price and wait?

Salt Hank French Dip sandwich at Salt Hank's in New York City – Photo courtesy of Casey Clark Last week I was strolling around New York City and saw a huge line of people waiting to get into a restaurant, so I went to check it out. It turns out viral recipe developer and cookbook author Henry Laporte (who goes by Salt Hank on social media and has accumulated millions of followers) has opened a sandwich shop. This isn't your traditional sandwich shop. There's only two items on the lunch menu: a French dip sandwich and fries. (Well, there are some non-alcoholic drink options too, but that's it.) Since Salt Hank's opened earlier this summer, people have been lining up and waiting anywhere from one to three hours for a Salt Hank French dip sandwich. I spoke with a hostess named Quinn, who said people start lining up around 10 a.m., and they often sell out of the coveted sandwiches by 3 p.m. So far, the most French dips they've made in a day is 304. She said people have flown in from as far away as Australia to try the Salt Hank French dip. Advertisement What's the Salt Hank French dip? Salt Hank French dip sandwich and shoestring fries – Photo courtesy of Casey Clark The Salt Hank French dip sandwich features thin slices of prime rib from Pat LaFrieda Meat Purveyors on a crispy Frenchette Bakery baguette. The meat is topped with provolone cheese, seven-hour caramelized onions, and an aioli seasoned with horseradish, chive, and roasted garlic. The sandwich comes with a savory au jus. You can see hundreds of mouthwatering social media posts from patrons. I'd say the sandwich is bigger in real life; videos and photos simply don't capture its thickness. Where is Salt Hank's? Exterior of Salt Hank's on Bleecker Street in New York City – Photo courtesy of Casey Clark Salt Hank's is located at 280 Bleecker Street. You'll know when you're getting close, because you'll see a long line down the block. I waited 45 minutes to get inside and then an additional 10 minutes for my sandwich. You order at the bar and then take a seat or take your food to go. The inside of Salt Hank's is pretty small with only a few tables, so if you're banking on eating there, you might have to wait to sit down. How much is the Salt Hank's sandwich? Interior of Salt Hank's in New York City – Photo courtesy of Casey Clark The Salt Hank French dip is $28 — or $34 with a side of shoestring fries. Daniel Rubenfeld, formerly at Thomas Keller's chophouse TAK Room, heads up the kitchen, and LaPorte often can be seen preparing sandwiches alongside his employees. Viral recipe developer Henry Laporte in his element – Photo courtesy of Casey Clark Upon my first bite, my eyes quite literally almost rolled to the back of my head — it was that good. The prime rib was moist and juicy and melted right in my mouth. The au jus softened the bread, which made the sandwich even easier to eat. I loved the caramelized onions, which added extra sweetness and texture. I wish there had been a bit more cheese, but that's more of a personal preference.

Watch a pre-fame Sabrina Carpenter, at age 12, cover Ozzy Osbourne's iconic anthem Crazy Train

A former Disney TV star, the 26-year-old Quakertown, Pennsylvania singer released her debut album Eyes Wide Open back in 2015 to little fanfare, but her most recent collection, 2024's Short n' Sweet, topped the national charts in 18 countries, spawned three UK number one singles, has already sold more than three million copies in the US alone, and catapulted the singer into stadiums worldwide. But before she got her first big break, landing a role as a character called Maya Hart on Disney Channel show Girl meets World, Carpenter was given a thorough education in old school rock and metal - Queen, The Beatles, Rush, Guns N' Roses, Ozzy Osbourne and more - by her father David. "The Trees is the longest song I've ever heard," she joked to Rolling Stone earlier this year about Rush's classic single from 1978's Hemispheres album. "I heard it my whole childhood."Rather sweetly, visual proof of Carpenter's pre-fame fondness for classic rock exists online, in the form of a rather fine cover of Ozzy Osbourne's signature anthem Crazy Train recorded in collaboration with an uncredited guitarist, bassist and drummer back in 2011, when she was 12-years-old. And while it's highly unlikely that, unlike Ozzy, the 12-year-old Carpenter could fully identify with the idea of "going off the rails", you'd have to have a heart of stone not to appreciate her fully-committed efforts to channel the Prince Of Darkness when tackling the most famous on his 1980 solo debut, Blizzard Of Ozz. All aboooooooard! "[Blizzard of Ozz bassist] Bob Daisley did a lot of the lyrics on that," Ozzy told this writer in 2018. "I probably did 'I'm going off the rails like a crazy train', and 'Crazy, but that's how it goes', but then I'd get stuck and he'd help me. And Randy [Rhoads] was brilliant, he was the first guy in my life who was like, 'Try doing this here, and this here…' When we did Crazy Train I knew we had something good. It was a magical time." Earlier this week, on July 30, Osbourne was buried in England, following an emotional stop in his hometown, Birmingham, where thousands of fans turned out to pay their respects to the legendary Black Sabbath frontman, following his death on July 22. Osbourne co-founded Black Sabbath in 1968 and made eight albums with the Godfathers of Metal before being dismissed from the pioneering band in 1979, due to what was perceived by his bandmates to be excessive substance invaluable encouragement and assistance from his manager/wife Sharon, Osbourne then launched a hugely successful solo career, beginning with Blizzard of Ozz. Ozzy Osbourne: No Escape From Now , a feature-length documentary focussing on the final years, is currently in production. The film is being directed by BAFTA Award winner Tania Alexander of London-based Broadcasting & media production company Echo Velvet. As well as interviews with Osbourne and his family, No Escape From Now will feature interviews and insights from Ozzy's Black Sabbath bandmate Tony Iommi, Duff McKagan (Guns N' Roses), Robert Trujillo (Metallica), Billy Idol, Maynard James Keenan (Tool), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), guitarist Zakk Wylde and producer Andrew Watt. Brooklyn Beckham, Nicola Peltz reveal vow renewal 3 years after they married

Nicola and Brooklyn Peltz Beckham had a wedding so nice they decided to do it twice. The couple, who married in Palm, Beach, Florida, in April 2022, on Aug. 11 shared photos from a vow renewal ceremony. They gushed about the event in their Instagram captions, with Brooklyn, 26, writing, "Forever my girl." Nicola, 30, wrote, "this day meant so much to us" and "in every lifetime." On her Instagram story, "The Last Airbender" actress also shared a fan account's side-by-side photos comparing her vow renewal look to model mom Claudia Heffner Peltz wearing the same dress in her own wedding pictures. Nicola's father, businessman and investor Nelson Peltz, officiated the ceremony, with brother Brad − who was the "man of honor" at the Peltz Beckhams' 2022 wedding − also in attendance. A post shared by 𝓃𝒾𝒸𝑜𝓁𝒶 (@nicolaannepeltzbeckham) Brooklyn told People magazine on Aug. 6 that "it was beautiful." She added: "To be honest, I could renew my vows every single day with her." Per the magazine, the ceremony took place on Aug. 2. The photographer and hot sauce brand founder, who has a tattoo with his original vows, said, "These ones were actually longer than my original ones." He called three years of marriage with Nicola "a never-ending play date" and opened up about their low-key dynamic. "We don't like to go out for dinner, really. We don't like to party or anything like that. When we are together, which is a lot of the time, we just hang out with our four dogs, and drink wine at home," he said. David, Victoria Beckham took a European family vacation Though Brooklyn's parents, David and Victoria Beckham, attended his 2022 wedding, they didn't appear in the photos shared by the couple. USA TODAY has reached out to the Beckhams for comment. Previously, in February 2024, Victoria Beckham showed her support alongside sons Cruz and Brooklyn at the premiere of Nicola's directorial debut, "Lola," in Los Angeles. Following the 2022 ceremony, both Victoria and David Beckham shared posts welcoming Nicola to the family. In the days before the vow renewal ceremony, the Beckhams shared European vacation photos showing the family – including David, Victoria, Cruz, Harper and Romeo – enjoying time together on a yacht and at a French truffle restaurant. How did Nicola and Brooklyn Peltz Beckham meet? Speaking for Glamour's June cover story, the couple opened up about their memorable first impressions when they met while dating other people. "The first time I saw Nicola at Coachella [in 2017], I was instantly drawn to her. She was gorgeous, obviously, but it was her warmth and energy that stuck with me. Even though it was a blink-and-you-miss-it moment, I never forgot it," Brooklyn said. Nicola told the magazine: "It was brief, but I felt something. I had a boyfriend, he had a girlfriend – but there was this instant charm. He took a few photos of me, and somehow that moment stayed with me for years." The two revealed their engagement in 2020. They also explained the decision to change both of their names, with Nicola saying, "For me, it really mattered. Especially as a woman. If you don't want to give up your name, combining them is a good solution." As for public scrutiny, which both had experienced growing up in notable families, Brooklyn said, "Ignore the noise. Keep your head down, work hard, be kind. People are always going to talk. What matters is that we're happy together."
