Kate Middleton Has a New Tiara Event on Her Royal Calendar
At this point, the Princess of Wales' tiara moments are increasingly rare as she and Prince William attempt to tone down their "we live in fancy castles and are richer than you" vibe and lean into a "here we are on a relatable hike" vibe. But sometimes a tiara is unavoidable. Specifically, during state dinners.
Buckingham Palace just announced that King Charles will be hosting French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron for a state visit over the summer, and that means the royals will be breaking out their collection of crowns.
The state visit is going down from July 8-10, and apparently President Macron and Brigitte will be staying in Windsor since Buckingham Palace is undergoing renovations. Since Prince William and Kate Middleton live in Windsor, they'll almost definitely be included in the state banquet.
So, which tiara will Kate wear? She typically opts for the Cambridge Lover's Knot Tiara, a favorite of Princess Diana's that was made for Queen Mary in the early 1900s—inspired by a similar piece owned by Princess Augusta (Queen Mary's grandmother). This tiara was given to Diana as a wedding gift from Queen Elizabeth, and Kate's worn it a lot over the years.
The Princess of Wales could also wear The Halo Tiara (made in 1936), which she wore on her wedding day and was originally given to the Queen Mother by her husband prior to their wedding. It's decorated with "739 brilliants and 149 baton diamonds."
Kate's also been known to wear The Lotus Flower Tiara, which was made from a necklace given to the Queen Mother by her husband.
Honestly, she has a lot of options. Anyway, gonna go look at the tiara selection at, idk, Claire's I guess.

It turns out viral recipe developer and cookbook author Henry Laporte (who goes by Salt Hank on social media and has accumulated millions of followers) has opened a sandwich shop. This isn't your traditional sandwich shop. There's only two items on the lunch menu: a French dip sandwich and fries. (Well, there are some non-alcoholic drink options too, but that's it.) Since Salt Hank's opened earlier this summer, people have been lining up and waiting anywhere from one to three hours for a Salt Hank French dip sandwich. I spoke with a hostess named Quinn, who said people start lining up around 10 a.m., and they often sell out of the coveted sandwiches by 3 p.m. So far, the most French dips they've made in a day is 304. The meat is topped with provolone cheese, seven-hour caramelized onions, and an aioli seasoned with horseradish, chive, and roasted garlic. The sandwich comes with a savory au jus. You can see hundreds of mouthwatering social media posts from patrons. I'd say the sandwich is bigger in real life; videos and photos simply don't capture its thickness. Where is Salt Hank's? You'll know when you're getting close, because you'll see a long line down the block. I waited 45 minutes to get inside and then an additional 10 minutes for my sandwich. You order at the bar and then take a seat or take your food to go. The inside of Salt Hank's is pretty small with only a few tables, so if you're banking on eating there, you might have to wait to sit down. How much is the Salt Hank's sandwich? Daniel Rubenfeld, formerly at Thomas Keller's chophouse TAK Room, heads up the kitchen, and LaPorte often can be seen preparing sandwiches alongside his employees. The prime rib was moist and juicy and melted right in my mouth. The au jus softened the bread, which made the sandwich even easier to eat. I loved the caramelized onions, which added extra sweetness and texture. I wish there had been a bit more cheese, but that's more of a personal preference.

A former Disney TV star, the 26-year-old Quakertown, Pennsylvania singer released her debut album Eyes Wide Open back in 2015 to little fanfare, but her most recent collection, 2024's Short n' Sweet, topped the national charts in 18 countries, spawned three UK number one singles, has already sold more than three million copies in the US alone, and catapulted the singer into stadiums worldwide. But before she got her first big break, landing a role as a character called Maya Hart on Disney Channel show Girl meets World, Carpenter was given a thorough education in old school rock and metal - Queen, The Beatles, Rush, Guns N' Roses, Ozzy Osbourne and more - by her father David. And Randy [Rhoads] was brilliant, he was the first guy in my life who was like, 'Try doing this here, and this here…' When we did Crazy Train I knew we had something good. It was a magical time." Earlier this week, on July 30, Osbourne was buried in England, following an emotional stop in his hometown, Birmingham, where thousands of fans turned out to pay their respects to the legendary Black Sabbath frontman, following his death on July 22. Osbourne co-founded Black Sabbath in 1968 and made eight albums with the Godfathers of Metal before being dismissed from the pioneering band in 1979, due to what was perceived by his bandmates to be excessive substance invaluable encouragement and assistance from his manager/wife Sharon, Osbourne then launched a hugely successful solo career, beginning with Blizzard of Ozz. Nicola and Brooklyn Peltz Beckham had a wedding so nice they decided to do it twice. The couple, who married in Palm, Beach, Florida, in April 2022, on Aug. 11 shared photos from a vow renewal ceremony. They gushed about the event in their Instagram captions, with Brooklyn, 26, writing, "Forever my girl." Nicola, 30, wrote, "this day meant so much to us" and "in every lifetime."
