Pictured: Wife who died after car plunged 300ft off cliff
The wife of a bus driver who died with her husband when their car plummeted 300ft off a cliff at a beauty spot has been pictured.
John and Lynn King died alongside their two Dachshund dogs after driving off a cliff at Alum Bay, close to the Needles on the Isle of Wight, on Friday.
Mr King, 66, and 67-year-old Mrs King were found after their Ford Mondeo plunged into the water on the western side of the island. Photographs showed the wreckage of the vehicle in the sea at the foot of the cliff.
Mr King had been a network driver for Southern Vectis, the island's bus operator, for two and a half years before his departure from the firm earlier this year.
Paying tribute, Richard Tyldsley, its general manager, said: 'We are saddened to learn of this tragic event, and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.'
Lee Bridle, a fellow bus driver who worked with Mr King in Hampshire, said: 'Such sad news announced today that former work colleague John and his wife Lynn King tragically passed away. May you now both be at rest together, with deepest condolences to your family, friends and work colleagues. R.I.P.'
George Gibson, another bus driver, added: 'He was a true friend to me during my low times. I'll miss them both.'
Police, fire crews, ambulances and coastguard teams were all deployed to the crash site at around 7.20pm.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said the vehicle had been driving on the road that leads to The Needles, one of Britain's best-known coastal landmarks.
As part of the police investigation into the incident, the force said an address in Cowes had been searched by officers.
A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said: 'Formal identification procedures are ongoing, but next of kin have been notified. A post-mortem examination will take place on Tuesday June 10.
'As part of the ongoing investigation into the incident, which has been referred to the coroner, officers have been carrying out inquiries at an address on Arctic Road, Cowes, to help them to establish what happened.'
A one-day yacht race around the Isle of Wight, named The Round the Island Race, still went ahead on Monday, with the boats passing Alum Bay.

‘We want our park back': Ontario Beach Park visitors react to new security measures
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Although Ontario Beach Park remains a popular summer destination for many across Rochester, some have expressed worries following a fight which broke out there last week. This resulted in a man's arrest for possessing an illegal gun with a high-capacity magazine while at the park. News 8 spoke with folks attending the weekly 'Concerts by the Shore' series about their reaction to last week's fight. John & Mary DeGrazia, both city residents, say they've attended concerts in the park every year for the last 37 years and have never felt unsafe. 'The years that we've come here, we've never seen a fight, ever,' John said. 'I was kind of surprised to see and hear about it.' The disruption caused by the fight has frustrated many, including city resident Kim Canton. 'We come here and meet some wonderful people, and for these other people to come in and ruin for us, it's a terrible shame,' Canton said. In response to the safety concerns, county leaders announced changes in patrol and security procedures at the park. This includes an increased law enforcement presence and the installation of four gates at entry and exit points. Mary Ann Newland, who has attended Concerts by the Shore for many years, expressed worry that these measures won't be enough. 'I think that the older folks, if they get shut out by the gates, they're not going to come back,' Newland said. 'They also want to close off the parking lot, but I don't see that working because a lot of these kids come on busses.' Others, including Ontario Beach Park Committee Member Fred Amato, thinks the county's response is necessary. 'If more people come here and think they're going to take the park over, acting like idiots, I think the police are going to be doing something they should be doing,' Amato said. A federal judge sided with Mahmoud Khalil, an anti-Israel ringleader detained by the Trump administration, blocking the government from continuing to hold him on "foreign policy" grounds. U.S. District Judge Michael Farbiarz on Wednesday granted a preliminary injunction preventing the government from detaining or removing Khalil, 30, based on a memorandum issued by Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The memo asserted that Khalil's presence "compromises a compelling foreign policy interest." "The government cannot claim an interest in enforcing what appears to be an unconstitutional law," Farbiarz wrote, adding that the threat to free speech raised serious First Amendment concerns. He has argued that his free speech rights were being "eroded" by the Trump administration. Balaclava-clad suspects ‘behind £250k handbags theft' caught on CCTV
Police have released images of the balaclava-clad suspects allegedly behind the theft of handbags worth £260,000. A trio of burglars took 55 luxury handbags from a boutique in the exclusive Cheshire village of Prestbury on Sunday night. The ski mask-wearing intruders broke in from a disused property next door, drilling through the shop's chimney to gain access. They then made a getaway with the high-end handbags, worth as much as £25,000 each. Cheshire Constabulary released CCTV images of the suspected burglars on Wednesday in an appeal for members of the public to identify them. Det Con Clare Slattery, of Macclesfield CID, said: 'Enquiries in relation to this incident are ongoing and we're committed to doing all we can to identify the people responsible. 'As part of our investigation we're keen to identify the men pictured in the CCTV images as we believe they may hold vital information. 'If you recognise the men, please contact us. I would also like to appeal directly to the men in the CCTV images to get in touch.' Christine Colbert, the owner of the boutique, watched the burglary live on CCTV from her home. 'I went to bed about 10.30pm on Sunday so I was asleep when we got a call from the monitoring company,' Mrs Colbert told the Daily Mail. 'I immediately switched on the CCTV on my phone and I could see a man crouching down and bricks all over the floor. I said to my husband Gary, 'We're being robbed.' I was panicking.' Mrs Colbert said that watching the footage back, she could hear the noise of drilling for more than an hour before the raiders broke through. She added added: 'They were big burly men, and they were all in black with goggles, balaclavas, and gloves. They took three or four minutes to whirl round the shop and grab all the bags. 'One man had a duvet tied round his neck like a pouch which he threw the bags in. Another man put everything up his arms – they were full of bags. 'Then they hurled the handbags through the hole they'd made. Respect for the bags was zero.' The gang dropped just two of the bags, which were among the least valuable. The next-door building was empty following an arson attack. Items worth £180,000 were stolen from Mrs Colbert's shop last year after burglars entered through a window.
